Pigeon Related Puns

My boyfriend loves birds. For some reason, especially pigeons. While I’ve been here I’ve been taking pictures of every funky little pigeon who gets close enough to send to him - but that’s not enough. I go home next week and want to bring him a proper pigeon related souvenir. Alas, pigeon paraphernalia does not seem to be in high demand, so I haven’t been able to find anything. I was hoping maybe somebody here would know.

In the game Hitman 2 (the second Hitman 2… Hitman squared?), there are several challenges related to shooting pigeons hidden throughout the maps. Each challenge is named with a pun containing the word “due.” What gives?

Examples: Déjà Due. Due You Even Care? How Do You Due?

Not sure where to ask this. Hopefully we have some word nerds here.

I'm looking for some pigeon related instagram accounts to follow, any suggestions? My current favorite is @ Allmyrescuedbirds --it's run by a New Yorker who saves pigeons. I like it because it showcases pigeon success stories, shows pigeons being funny, and often teaches me new things. Know of anything similar? Thanks!

I can see these links between the way these words are used but was wondering which came first. There's also a sense of "sophisticated" or "classy." There's also related words like "fanciful." And it's interesting that I feel like in modern English, the word "fancy" often takes on a slightly pejorative or mocking tone, a lot like the British "posh." Edit: I guess I'm wondering if there's a connection between a hobby being called a "fancy" and the fact that these sorts of hobbies probably would've been dominated by aristocrats with a lot of leisure time for much of history.

Just did a side mission where people were getting hacky or something and a swarm of pigeons flew off with flash drive and you had to swing/zip after them to retrieve.

That was super fun!!! I wouldn't mind a full (albeit short and very cheap) game of doing just that.

[Sometime after the landing at Normandy the 282 was delivering cargo to the "Rhino" docks when a military photographer, who was on board, snapped a photo of the unloading.

He used a carrier pigeon to return the film to England. Unfortunately instead of flying west to England the bird got confused and flew east to Germany.

The pigeon soon arrived in Germany exhausted, and the film was captured.

On June 28, the photo was published in a German newspaper. The article apparently said that soon after the photo was taken the "barge" was sunk. That was pure hype, but prophetic, as the LST 282 was sunk about two months later.]
