With the third poll had come to an end last night, I will be posting the next poll, which will be not related to the Philippine election, but it will be a poll on a different issue within the country. It will be focused on the fate of the Philippine Congress. Hopefully, this will lead into the next poll that I will be posting in three days. So, letβs get into it!
THE SECOND HALF OF THE DUTERTE-CARPIO ADMINISTRATION AND FATE OF THE PHILIPPINE CONGRESS
The 2025 Philippine elections ended up being a pyrrhic victory for Hugpong ng Pagbabago as they failed to obtain the majority in both Senate and House of Representatives, thus resulting the Philippines being divided between Hugpong ng Pababago and Onward for a Better Philippines in all legislatures. In the local elections, Onward Philippines and most regionalist parties have enjoyed the success when they tore down the chances of Hugpong in most gubernatorial and mayoral races, especially in Manila when Onward's Isko Moreno Domagoso was elected once again as Mayor to defeat Pro-Hugpong's Jinggoy Estrada and KABAKA's Amanda Cristal Bagatsing while the outgoing Mayor Honey Lacuna defeated former congressman Edward Maceda and councilor DJ Bagatsing to succeed outgoing congresswoman Science Reyes, who ended up being the newly-elected Vice Mayor of Manila. In Davao Region, Hugpong had narrowly won the elections except in bigger cities outside Davao City) while pro-China rallied their way with congressional seats, but failed to capitalize in the gubernatorial races. In Bangsamoro, Hugpong para sa Bangsamoro (HPB) went on top in the Bangsamoro Parliament, but failed to reach the majority, despite combining their seats with their coalition partner Bangsamoro National People's Party (BNPP), which still falls the majority. Despite this, pro-Hugpong and pro-US parties have been praised by international observers, which it became a big point that the Philippines will most likely gonna stay focused on being pro-US despite pressures from the pro-China camp, who was very aggressive in trying to take control the country badly.
As the second half of the Duterte-Carpio administration begins, the Philippines had faced numerous issues, which includes the rise of the independence parties in Bangsamoro and somewhere in Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, and the aggression of Communist China in trying to expand their sphere of influence in Asia to combat against the democratic United States. The main issues for the second half of the

In response to a question about when will everything go back to normal the president responded, "Early first or second quarter of 2023 baka, sa tulong ng Diyos."
This is unacceptable! Imagine another 2 years of uncertain quarantine protocols! 2 years of relying on 50-75% of economy! 2 years of online classes where most of the students in public high school did not rely on printed modules anymore! 2 years of another anxiety where people are imprisoned in their homes and unable to unwind and travel due to the fear of acquiring COVID-19! 2 years of jobs relying on skeletal workforce and unable to run at full working capacity!
Supposedly, we should have been talking about vaccine rollouts to acquire what we call "herd immunity". Other countries around the world (including 3rd World Countries) already started their mass vaccination programs. While here in the Philippines, we are still in the middle of discussion about mass testing and lockdowns. Most of the vaccines we are and will be receiving are donations from COVAX or from other countries like China. Quite frankly, it is such a shame that we allocate billions of taxpayer's money on intelligence funds or on the efforts of fighting a 70 year old insurgency than giving priority on the procurement of vaccines which should had been done last year while most of you deliberating on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN (which was denied) and there was a leadership crisis in the House of Representatives. This issues were such a waste of time and this is a genuine sign that there were misplaced priorities rather than focusing on COVID-19 efforts.
The pandemic brought anxiety to most of us. While the poor working class need to work 8 hours a day on a minimum wage to bring food to the table, the rich like most of you, are indulging of advantages that the poor cannot and will not able to get. The workers, whom are vulnerable of acquiring the COVID-19, need to wade in the perilous crowds in urban areas just to get enough money for the family while the rich people can still bare with another 2 years of quarantine protocols. Businesses are closing since the start of lockdown. While some of them shifted to online platform, most of them like bars and restos, suffered major losses due to liquor ban. Farmers experience heavy losses on their crops because of ASF and other issues like pests.

In general, i feel like the leniency of the two branches is what paves the way for impunity and corruption among public servants in the central government. The Duterte administration alone is very impeachable, but no one in Congress seems to take action, and he seems to garner support from many congressmen, no matter how absurd a policy may be. The same can be said about previous admins.
