A list of puns related to "Phil Keoghan"
I've always had a ton of respect for Phil Keoghan, the host and executive producer of The Amazing Race and Tough as Nailsβ I think he is one of the classiest people on TV. And like all of you, I love Survivor, and as a host, I love Jeff Probst. He is an undeniable icon of Survivor and I don't know that the show would be where it is today without his impact. However, I think most of us are in agreement that his executive producing talent leaves a lot to be desired, perhaps more than ever following the obnoxiously twist-filled Survivor seasons of late. Meanwhile, Phil Keoghan... he gets it. Like it's almost surreal how starkly different Phil Keoghan's approach to producing is to his CBS reality partner in crime, Jeff Probst. Earlier this week, RHAP interviewed Phil in anticipation of the upcoming The Amazing Race 33, and I wanted to share his response after being asked if the new season will feature any new game twists:
"You know, people do always ask, 'What's new and different about this season or that season, you know, what's the twist? What's the turn? What's the, you know, how are you making it different?' And, I think at the end of the day, it's kind of like the NFL. Like, it's the most popular form of any entertainment anywhere, you don't change the rules of the game of football, you enhance the game by... doing different coverage, setting up great competitions, changing the way you see it, with SkyCam... you enhance what works. You don't go in and change a format, and so, we've tried to stick to the format that people love on The Amazing Race β¦ The essence of what that is, and why people have tuned in to The Amazing Race for twenty-something years, and I think why people keep turning up, is they know what they're going to get. It's like you know what you're going to get when you watch a football game." (In a sarcastic tone) "This season we're going to extend the width of the NFL football field just to make it interesting! The ball's gonna be bigger! You know, it's like no, stick with what works, and enhance the game."
I mean, the juxtaposition between Phil's answer and Probst's apparent new catchphrase "Drop the 4 Keep the 1" is simply astonishing. A a CBS reality fan in general, to hear this spoken out loud just felt so cathartic. And to be fair, I feel like Phil's philosophy is self-evident. Tough as Nails' first season was wonderful and the following seasons have been largely more of the same, but in the best wa
... keep reading on reddit β‘I should note the AMA was mostly to deal with Tough As Nails. I was unaware it was still going on until most of the Qs he was answering was about Tough As Nails.
The most relevant bit was he answered a question about his upcoming projects or what's on the schedule for 2021. He says he has TWO seasons of Tough As Nails coming up (seasons 3 and 4) to film and a screenplay he is trying to write and complete with a buddy. There wasn't a single mention of TAR 33.
Given the record high number of COVID cases in many countries around the planet and the lack of referencing TAR 33 in the "What's Next For You, Phil?" Question, I'm willing to bet money we don't get TAR 33 filmed before the end of the year (or at least until very very close until the end of the year if it does happen).
??
Phil talks about 'Le Ride' but also about TAR and hosted by a TAR winner>!TAR 19 winner Cindy Chiang!<
Hosts The Amazing Race. Gets to travel around the world, pretapes a couple segments, presumably kills time in an exciting world destination, then waits for people to meet him somewhere. Mostly just reveals standings, mood and energy levels kind of a non-factor.
