I'm biased because I connected with Inside Out a lot and enjoyed Soul. Plus I don't have any kids but I personally thought the former did a great job.
I always feel like Pete Docter has a very Pixar way of accepting awards. He always leaves a little message behind each one.
“This film started as a love letter to jazz, but we had no idea how much jazz would teach us about life,” “My wish for all of us tonight is that we could follow the example of jazz musicians.“That wherever we are, whatever have, we turn it into something beautiful.” (About Soul).
