Percy and Wild Bill are the two antagonists in the Green Mile. Both are two of the most despicable not only Stephen King but movie villains of all time.
Percy is a cruel, sadistic guard who only works to see inmates fry, frequently abuses Eduard "Del" Delacroix by breaking his fingers and making him fall, crushes Del's mouse Mr. Jingles and causes Del to get fried to death by choosing not to wet his sponge at his execution (to the point where Percy is horrified).
Wharton is a psychotic serial killer who raped and murdered two girls, which John Coeffy took the fall and execution for, killed three people in armed robbery (and possibly more in the past), nearly strangled one of Percy's workers to death, is racist, sexually assaulted and threatened to rape Percy and even makes a song from Del's execution.
Both are punished by John Coeffy for being "bad men". But which of the two do you feel is worse?
I'm writing a paper on pederasty in ancient Greece and this looks like the perfect source but the only digital formats I can find it in are on super sketchy websites, and the google books preview doesn't have the information I need. I even considered buying a copy of the book but it's a minimum of 95 dollars and it wouldn't get here in time. If this isn't the right sub, I apologize, I wasn't sure where to ask
Today is the birthday of Canadian Percy Williams, he was a Gold Medalist in the 100m and 200m double at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam.
In the first photo you see Williams hoisted up on the shoulders of Phil Edwards (left) and Brant Little after he equalled Charlie Paddock’s standing World Record in a time of 10.6 in the fourth heat of the second round. Williams won the Gold with a time of 10.8 in the finals. Jack London, an iconic sprinter from Great Britain took the silver in 10.9.
In the 200m in Amsterdam, Williams won Gold in a time of 21.8. It was Williams's eighth race in four days and he was the first non-American to complete the sprint double.
At the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 100m with a time of 10.91. USA’s Eddie Tolan took the Gold Medal. With the Canadian relay team he finished fourth in the 4×100m competition.
Unfortunately and sadly Williams shot himself in the head with a gun he had been awarded in 1928 as a prize for his Olympic feat. His suicide was a surprise to everyone and no note was left. i am stacked at receiver, i have victor cruz, reggie wayne, denarius moore, dwayne bowe, mike williams. Our league is setup funny and is essentially a touchdown league(1 pt=50yds passing, 20 yds rushing or rec.) percy has a sprained ankle but should be back after his bye week in two weeks but that is aklo victor cruz's bye. Thoughts?
