Background

I'm 20 and in my third year of university. I started doing some bodybuilding training on and off in high school for football and rugby. I really only started training consistently and seriously or around 2 years and specifically for power lifting for 8 months.

Training

I've always been very loose with my programming, something I want to change for my next meet. For generally I would have 3 sessions a week, the first day being a volume day for the 3 lifts, the second day being accessories for my lifts and the third day being an max effort day for the 3 lifts. During September to November I had to drop volume quite a bit because I had a season with my rugby club, so I didn't make as much progress as I wanted too.
 Lifts

Squats

• 160kg (Three white lights), I was super nervous for this. More so because it was my first ever lift on a platform. I lost tightness at the bottom and almost died but otherwise went up quickly
• 170kg (Three white lights)
• 175kg (Three white lights), this matched my gym squat PR, felt like I left quite a bit more on the platform

Bench

• 105kg (Three white lights), I opened light because during training I was dealing with some major elbow pain after squatting that hurt my bench quite a bit.
• 115kg (Three white lights)
• 122.5kg (Three white lights), beats my gym bench PR, felt like I left a little on the platform

Deadlift

• 195kg (Three white lights), I was super nervous for this one for some reason, felt real easy though
• 210kg (2 red lights), This was my gym deadlift PR, went up alot faster than I thought it would so I lost balance on the top and it dipped down a little.
• 215kg (2 white lights, 1 red light), side judge told me it looked like a soft lockout. Left quite a bit on the platform.

Conclusion

I had a lot of fun at this meet and will definitely so a lot more. I left a lot on the platform and I'm kinda beating myself up over it, have next meet though.

Current plans for this off season. Get less fat and drop a couple pounds, maybe a weightclass. Actually learn how to use leg drive on the bench and widen my grip. Fix up my deadlift for

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place but I photograph deadmalls [I’m the person from this article] and I’m trying to get as many done as possible before they close or shut down. I have a NB list and a few done; now trying to get NS, PEI, and eventually NFLD.

So far I’m aware of the County Fair Mall in New Minas, the North Sydney Mall, Park Lane Mall, Bedford Place Mall, and Bayer’s Road Mall. I don’t mind travelling for a place.

I’m unsure which of these still exist and are able to be entered. I also recall a mall that is technically not dead but nearly dead on Spring Garden.

I’m looking for anything with the 80s/90s/2000s aesthetic. Doesn’t have to be totally dead, just not renovated for at least 10+ years. It’s for a project.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Hi again friends - 11 beautiful dogs (see links below) at the Lee County Shelter in Sanford are in urgent need right now.

I usually avoid bringing up the worst case scenario, but these dogs need to be rescued by Wednesday COB at the latest. Other volunteers are working to advocate for them as well, but I'm sharing here again since the urgency of the situation is so great and you have all been incredibly effective in helping over the past week and today (for which we and the dogs are extremely grateful). On the brighter side, each of these dogs has been given $200 sponsorships. Some of them are described by the shelter as needing homes with adults only but very friendly. All of them deserve good loving homes and lives with meaning and dignity; with love and patience, I'm certain they'd make wonderful, affectionate companions.
