Today the Pearl Street Market convenience store in Coast was demolished. It had been closed for a few weeks.
Does anyone have any background about why it closed and what will become of it? Or if not, any fond memories? I grew up going there with friends and it will be missed.

This is a small attention/warning post for anyone else living on Pearl St; There seems to be someone walking, or driving through the street and snatching whatever they can see/ get too as they've already stolen both my, and next door neighbors, property!
They've stolen my neighbor's barbecue grill, as well as mine, a small igloo cooler from me, and just earlier I discovered they've actually stolen my Rigid brand drill/ impact driver set out of my car... Funny enough they returned my grill to me as well as all the charcoal that was bagged underneath it (I guess they realized they didn't want a cheap-O $30 Aussie grill.
I know this isn't the most active sub, however for the small community that does lurk/ post on here I hope nothing has been taken from you, and keep an eye out!

-- The Skinny Pancake has finally opened on the corner of Steuben and Pearl. They're currently open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, plus dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. -- Right next door at 54 N Pearl, The Steuben Street Market, which closed for months during Covid, has reopened with a refreshed menu, new decor, and a liquor license (they currently seem to have a small canned beer selection). Alice in Chains bootlegs. Unplugged and Self-titled. I bought these over 10 years ago before I had any idea about how to research if something was official or not and forgot about them. Going over records I might want to sell I finally took a peak and realized these were knock-offs. $50 takes them both. Unplugged is on red vinyl.

I was walking to the gym at like 10 AM Saturday and some guy who looked like he was tweaking came running towards me from across the street. He didn't respond to anything I was saying and was looking directly into my eyes and had like a dangerous angry face. I'm a pretty big guy so I'm not sure what the fuck he was thinking and he got about 5 feet from me so I took like a panicked defensive step back to brace for a fight and the dude took off running. I just moved to vermont and have worked in the trap before, never had someone try to run up on me like that before. What the fuck Burlington?
My heart goes out to the people involved in the fire this morning. Are there any resources as a community to help them, get back on their feet?
At the moment, I don't have much but I do have some canned goods
