Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers(11-6) |
---|
The Eagles defied the odds and clinched a playoff spot in week 17 when they completed their sweep of the Washington βWho cares what they are calledβ. The Eagles took care of business down the stretch knocking off a number of lowly teams to get to 9 wins and be able to rest key starters in week 18. They set up a meeting with their old friend Tom Brady and his Buccaneers down in Tampa for Wildcard Weekend. The Bucs easily took care of the Panthers in week 18 to secure the number two seed. While the game will be down in the Sunshine State, the weather looks to be anything, but sunny. The weather forecast is calling for rain and wind gusts between 20-30 mph which could favor the Eagles and their top ranked rush offense. But running against the Bucs big DL will be no easy task. Vita Vea has a huge size advantage over Kelce who he will most likely be lining up over in a 0 technique and while Ndamukong Suh is not the All-Pro he once was he is still a big body that can clog up the run game. If the Bucs sell out to stop the run it could be on Hurts to try to win it with his arm which could be difficult, especially with the weather. The Bucs have two guys they can match up on Goedert in Antoine Winfield Jr. and Lavonte David and they will get some pass rush help back with the return of JPP. Hurts will need to rely on his young WRs more to get open and quick. On the other side, Brady beat the Eagles with quick short throws earlier this season in a game where he was without Gronk, but while Gronk is back Brady has lost one of his favorite WRs Chris Godwin to an ACL tear and lost Antonio Brown to being crazy and probably running on the side of the road shirtless somewhere. With limited weapons the Eagles need to shutdown Evans with Slay and bracket Gronk. Playing tight with the predicted weather should help the Eagles slow down the Bucs passing attack, but they will still need to worry about the run game and Leonard Fournette who had two TDs against them in week 6. Should be an interesting matchup in the rain and the Eagles will make it really interesting if they can win the battle in the trenches. Go Birds! |

New York Giants
Out: GM Dave Gettleman, OC Freddie Kitchens (Interim)
In: GM Dave Ziegler, OC Adam Stenavich
Fans have been unhappy with Gettleman for years, and it seems like ownership is finally catching up. The Maras also seem content with holding on to former Patriots ST Coach Joe Judge as their locker room leader. If that is the case, it makes sense to bring in somebody Judge is already familiar with in Ziegler, the current Patriots' Director of Player Personnel. The 44-year-old is a Patriot through and through. He was college teammates with Nick Caserio (who he replaced following Caserio's move to Houston) and Josh McDaniels (under whom he was a scout in Denver). He has cut his teeth under Belichick, spending the last 9 years in the scouting department in New England. In his first year without the "assistant" being tagged onto his job title, Ziegler added key free agents in Kendrick Bourne, Matt Judon, and Hunter Henry. He also oversaw one of the best draft classes in recent Patriot history with Mac Jones a favorite to win ROTY on top of inspiring play from Christian Barmore and Rhamondre Stevenson.
In addition to Ziegler, Packers' OL Coach Adam Stenavich joins as the new offensive coordinator. A bit of an unknown name, Stenavich is a former NFL player that has really made the most of his coaching opportunities. With Green Bay, he has overseen a revolving door of elite late round picks at OL, from Corey Linsley to David Bakhtiari to Yosh Nijman. In 2021, the Packers have seen countless injury along the line yet still have maintained an elite unit. Prior to Green Bay, Stenavich was on Shanahan's staff in San Francisco, coaching the likes of Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, and Weston Richburg. While Stenavich is unproven as a playcaller, he has worked under two of the best young offensive minds in the game. On top of his promising resume, his area of expertise is one the Giants desperately need help with. Other than Andrew Thomas, the Giants' OL has been an endless pile of poop covered garbage.
Chicago Bears
Out: GM Ryan Pace, HC Matt Nagy, OC Bill Lazor, DC Sean DeSai

Pace's tenure in Chicago has run its course. While many applauded him for having the onions to make a big move for Khalil
... keep reading on reddit β‘With the looming retirement of a few players this offseason, and the fact a lot of this status can change soon, I wanted to go though and find active players that were on each team's Super Bowl winning season.
Key:
(IR) - On Injury Reserve that season
(PS) - Were a practice squad player that season
Italics - Did not play for the team continuously (left and came back)
2005 Pittsburgh Steelers - 1 remaining player: Ben Roethlisberger
2008 Pittsburgh Steelers - 1 remaining player: Ben Roethlisberger
The Steelers' two victories are the longest you can go back and still find an active player still with the Steelers from these teams. Big Ben's time in the NFL appears to be coming to an end, but for now he is the one link left for the two Steeler's wins in the 2000's.
2009 New Orleans Saints - 1 remaining player: Malcolm Jenkins
Won in his rookie year, Jenkins played with the Saints until 2013, before leaving to the Eagles where he also won a ring. He returned in 2020 and after Bree's retirement, is the only remaining player from this team.
2010 Green Bay Packers - 2 remaining players: Aaron Rodgers, Mason Crosby
2012 Baltimore Ravens - 6 remaining players: Pernell McPhee, Josh Bynes, Jimmy Smith, Justin Tucker, Sam Koch, Anthony Levine (IR)
The Ravens have a shocking six players left from their 2012 season left, a tie with the 2014 Patriots but with an even longer time frame. Two players (Bynes and McPhee) did leave afterwards, but both returned in 2019 (Bynes left AGAIN and was brought back in 2021). Morgan Cox, who left in the offseason before the 2021 season was also on this team.
2013 Seattle Seahawks - 3 remaining players: Russel Wilson, Bobby Wagner, Benson Mayowa
Mayowa played only one year in Seattle before leaving, playing for a few other teams before returning in 2020.
2014 New England Patriots - 6 remaining players: Brandon Bolden, James White, Matthew Slater, Jamie Collins, Dont'a Hightower, Devin McCourty
Jamie Collins is unlucky, and missed two of the three Super Bowls the Patriots won last decade. Bolden also missed one, leaving to the Dolphins for one single year before returning in 2019, missing the 2018 season's Super Bowl win.
2015 Denver Broncos - 1 remaining player: Brandon McManus
This one is just kind of sad... the 2015 Broncos only have one player left from their Super Bowl run. Von Miller was on

Me too, and because of that I spend a significant amount of my time analyzing five key matchups for every Bills game; Bills Pass Offense vs. Opponents Pass Defense, Bills Rush Offense vs. Opponents Rush Defense, Bills Pass Defense vs. Opponents Pass Offense, Bills Rush Defense vs. Opponents Rush Offense, and Bills Special Teams vs. Opponents Special Teams. After doing this I try to determine βWhy Buffalo Will Loseβ and βWhy Buffalo Will Winβ which ultimately leads me to a Prediction. Below I present 2021βs 13th iteration of this analysis for the Bills upcoming game at the Buccaneers. Included is a scale to rank the advantage in each matchup from πππππ (Massive Advantage) to π (Minimal Advantage).
If you would prefer an Audio Breakdown of the game check out the latest episode of βProcess On Tapβ. In this weekβs episode my co-host Jeramy and I break down the Bills @ Buccaneers game, Pinched Nerves, Bat Attacks, and much more.
The list of Quarterbacks able to throw the ball through a Bomb Cyclone is fairly short, so letβs give it a go. 1 β Josh Allen. Thatβs it, thatβs the list (/s). Allenβs 15/30 for 145 Yards and 1 TD, when taken out of context, is a paltry stat line for one of the favorites to win MVP, but when you add context to the numbers it quickly morphs into an impressive one. That context is inclusive of a field that saw 60 MPH crosswinds, a receiving corps that dropped 3 key passes (2 in the Endzone), and a game against the #2 ranked pass defense led by the greatest defensive mind in the history of the sport. Yes, the Bills clearly have a had more than their fair share of issues this season but one of the more consistent bright spots has been the play of their Franchise QB, one they have locked up through 2028.
This week is trending towards near opposite playing conditions in Tampa as the weather calls for low 80s and negligible wind. Where similarities do take effect though is the talent level of the Buccaneers pass defense which currently ranks #7 in the NFL (Pass Defense DVOA) and is arguably healthier than it has been all season. Their Top-4 DBs, Carlton Davis (CB), Sean Murphy-Bunting (CB), Antoine Winfield

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
So, I did lie in the title. I have not chosen impeached presidents, nor have I chosen any Confederate soldiers, or pro-slavery politicians from the Civil War Era. I also removed Nixon as a possible as he resigned.

I made all time teams for all 30 squads, and put them into seeds to make a βMarch madnessβ style bracket.
Rules:
Round one last 48 hours, rounds 2-finish will be 24 hours
Each player can only be used once. This made it extremely tough to pick teams for guys who were great on multiple teams
I will comment the matchups, upvote the team you think would win
Each team has a DH, as it makes the matchups easier to evaluate
All teams are on 3 man rotations
The matchups are based on the seeds I made, Iβll say what my rankings are after the bracket is done
