A list of puns related to "Pari Mutuel Machine"
Hi everybody. I just updated my DerbyDay spreadsheet, and thought I'd share it with the world.... Just in time for your (socially-distanced) Kentucky Derby parties!!
Anyway, the sheet lets you to set up and run a simple pari-mutuel betting pool for your Derby Day party. This includes taking Win/Place/Show bets, showing real-time odds to your party guests, printing bet slips, and computing payouts… all for free!! (donations gladly accepted 😀)
I welcome any comments or suggestions, and feel free to tweak and improve the sheet (it's unprotected and open-source) and post it back here.
Enjoy!!! 🏇🏻
PS: Works great for parimutuel Golf tournaments too!
Me: 61M, widowed for four and a half years, no serious relationship for four years
HER: 66F, coworker I have known for say five years. She had a bf in a city up North, she used to go back in the off season; Now I am not sure if she is going back up north after our current meet is over, not sure their status. I am assuming she is available down here.
We have always gotten along, and enjoyed working together (we were on the same line for a few years, she was just one window over from me). Last year I suggested that we go out for a drink, because I would enjoy talking with her. I never followed up until this season, about two Saturdays ago, I asked her out for that drink again. She said good idea, maybe next week. I figured we would do it a week from the Monday after.
I should mention that we have been out before, but only on an "after work" basis, and always with another coworker. This happened I the week before I asked her out for a drink again.
I should mention here that I think/thought she was out of my league. She is worldly, she knows how to put an outfit together. She always looks "put-together". She is thin, but not too thin, a change for me because most of the women I have been with have been taller and larger (I'm five two, she is, let's say five five). I looked up her Facebook, we have photos of the same Italian area (Cinque Terre) I want to go to and that she has been.
I called her the next Monday to firm up our plans. She wanted to go that Thursday. We discussed and settled on a place downtown on the river.
So we meet at Thursday at four, at the start of Happy Hour. We sit outside. I drove, she was able to walk.
It was PERFECT. The setting, outside downtown, watching the younger people zip around on scooters, people walking dogs, etc. Then twilight came on, the sun reflecting on the buildings, and then the lights slowly coming on. We drank just enough (me, two Camparis and soda, her, three glasses of wine) so I wasn't nervous, and I guess for her too.
We talked for two or three hours. We got appetizers to eat and it was also PERFECT. We just played off each other, and we moved in close so we could hear each other. We also touched each other a lot during our "not quite a date". I felt like we had something going there. At one point I looked directly in her eyes and asked her what color her eyes were (light brown with some gray and green).
Eventually it's time to leave. I drove her close to her home, because she was concerned I would ge
... keep reading on reddit ➡So my Father in law passed away from Pancreatic Cancer a little around 4 years ago. He was born and raised in Kentucky and the Kentucky Derby was something the family I married into celebrated every year like the superbowl.
He created a spreadsheet so that he could take bets from the people at his Derby party and at the end of the day pay out winnings via odds created via his spreadsheet. It appears to be what is called a basic pari mutuel betting spreadsheet he designed in Excel.
My wife and I are trying to bring the tradition back as I now my mother in law would love it as well as the other people who used to enjoy Gary's party. But I was thinking there has to be a way for me to modernize it. I built a basic Google Form where I could choose a horse from a drop down and then enter an amount for Win Place or Show and it would then be added to a Google Sheet. But I have no idea how to make things work to essentially transport each horse bet into a sheet to then calculate the odds. Gary basically used to have a spreadsheet, and would write down all the bets and then I would enter them by hand, click print and the odds would be updated but I would love to be able to sit at my computer and just take bets and let the odds display and update in real time.
Is this at all doable? I feel like I just don't have the knowledge to import/move the bets as they come in to the spreadsheet with the odds formulas to calculate and update?
Here is a link to the sheet I have that would log the bets and then update: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qLcVf9xDvk5tEh81sEoC1nUvxR5Ku985hV7JLbLsfH8/edit?usp=sharing
Any insight or tips or points to a guide or a specific tool or formula would be appreciated.
All the best!
I’ve started outlining for my gambling law class but I’m a bit lost and could use some help l. I’ve checked the outline bank and didn’t see anything so if anyone could point me in the right direction or has a good supplement/outline I’d really appreciate it.
Bonjour,
