A list of puns related to "Panini Group"
{EST} No, it's not a typo, I heard someone say it and I legitimately think it's *hilarious*. Doesn't translate as well to text but it's still mildly amusing.
Anyway, I (26/f) am trying to join a group of creative and interesting people at or above my own age. I'm a long-time roleplayer, but I'm fairly new to tabletop RPGs. My experience is actually with text-based written roleplays between small groups or single partner games and in this arena I have over 15 years of experience. I was a DM for the first portion of ToA, I've played a few homebrewed games as a participant, I'm happy to explore.
To be honest, I don't really have a preference for a campaign setting, it's more the group that I care about. I'm really looking to make some new friends. Mostly, I just want to join a group with some humor and some great people who are also interested in character progression, developing relationships, fighting and exploring the world. If you're a dm or a player and you think I might fit, I'd be happy to answer any relevant questions, provide a writing sample, talk to you about potential characters I've had ideas for, etc.
OH! and I'm not a min/maxer... I'm pretty much all flavor text, but maybe I'll find a place where I fit.
Thanks for reading,

This quarantine, I plowed my way through every season of Hells Kitchen for the first time. It has been a journey β and one that not everyone in my household understands. For example, my fiancΓ© has noted that for a cooking show, it can talk surprisingly little about how to cook. Obviously, I scoffed and called him a panini head, but I thought it would be a fun question to pose to the group. What (if any) actual cooking lessons have you learned from watching Hells Kitchen/Gordon Ramsay?
every time i hear nectar or love talk i just burst out laughing at just the thought of a group of SM producers trying to find songs that will promote well in China, a notoriously conservative country with extremely strict censorship laws.
they sit down and find a demo that goes "i can hear you calling, you sexy fuck, loving the way your body talks-" and just look at eachother and go no yeah this is good. and then it kind of worked??????
like they aren't allowed to even have piercings or colored hair on tv in china but they are apparently allowed to basically dry hump the floor. i love it.
edit: i fell asleep right after i made this post and did not think it would garner any attention lmao
Also btw ik they are not that popular in China as of now, but they did debut right before the panini hit :/ this post refers towards their marketing strategy & not their popularity
Personally I hope they put out more English singles and promote towards the rising cpop market in the US bc there is definitely a growing potential there
Edit 2: So I have had 72 total responses which is nuts, and obviously there's 5 only 5 players here.. I've spoken to some people and have figured out which 5! That said, I'll be keeping ahold of this list for a bit here, just in case any of the players I've picked up don't work out for whatever reason, and I'll reach out to people as I can to fill another slot. Glad to see enough people are in for a late night game! Our group will be playing Mondays @ 9pm PST for now.
Thanks for all the responses, and good luck to all!
Edit: So I've gotten almost 50 responses through the past 5 hours, which is about what I potentially expected to happen because DMs don't exist.. Heh. That said, this campaign is looking more and more like a late night group on Mon-Weds @ 9pm PST. I'm currently on a break from work and looking over the submissions and gonna be reaching out to people to chat.
I wish that I could say I would respond to everyone to at least let them know, but if I'm being realistic here, that would be a LOT and it's not gonna be possible. I will, however, mark this thread as closed when I do have everyone ready to go -- And if there's anything that happens between now and our first couple sessions, I'll keep this list handy to reach out to people. Much appreciate everyone's interest! And hey, if you need a player for a Friday evening or late night group... let me know! Lol
Until I've closed this thread, please still free to fill out the form. I'm going to be pretty picky with the players chosen, to make sure the group will mesh well with our personalities and it won't be a first-come first-serve thing.

Hello, everyone!
So, I've been completely unsuccessful at finding myself a game to play in (the player to DM ratio is always massive!), but still really have the urge to at least have one more game during the week to do. So, going to go ahead and start up a second campaign!
First, a tad bit about myself:
My name is Mike (he/him), and I live in California. I'm 29 and work for Apple (for now, that is hopefully ending soon), as well as owning an online organization that does racing online where I commentate/cast races (among 90 other things). Used to work in Live TV broadcasting before I had to give that up because the pay was terrible.
I used to play AD&D a lot when I was little with my parents and their friends. Didn't play much at all from like age 14 to 27 or so, then have picked it up again here in the panini an

Group Breaks and Why You Shouldn't Participate In Them You may have heard or seen group breaks on youtube, twitch, or wherever else. For those who may not know what a group break is, it's a form of opening boxes that involves the host, who actually literally opens the box and rip open the packs, and the participants, the people who purchase into the breaks. So you are literally paying to watch someone else open boxes and rip packs, with a chance to get some cards back. So you may be asking yourself, what's the point of doing group breaks? All the fun is opening boxes and ripping packs yourself! Well, you are correct with that assertion, but in our current state of the hobby where the prices of hobby boxes have skyrocketed, forcing the majority of collectors scouring Walmart and Target for retail packs and retail boxes, and still not finding any of them due to scalpers, it has become even more appealing to purchase into a group break than purchasing a hobby box.
Formats of group breaks vary depending on the box. The most popular version are team spots, where the participant pays to claim all the cards pulled that are in that teams uniform. Then there is the hit spots, usually this is for higher end boxes, where you pay for the spots in accordance to where the cards are in the pack. For instance, A box like Flawless, may only have one pack that contains 8 cards. So in a hit break of this Flawless box is numbered from 1-8. So let's say you purchase hit #3 so you will get whatever card is the 3rd card pulled from the pack. So on and so forth. I'm sure there are other versions of breaks, so just comment below if there are ones I've forgotten about.
At this point, you may be wondering, "well, group breaks actually sounds pretty good, why are you telling me not to participate in them?" The answer is the following: Participating in group breaks perpetuates the skyrocketing prices for boxes. So if you're not a fan of paying $1000 on a hobby box of Donruss (as they should be between $100-150 per box), then please DO NOT buy into group breaks. Allow me to illustrate why I'm against group breaks. Let's say there is a group break for a hobby box of Donruss. To participate, each team is $50. Fantastic! Being a fan of, let's say, Chicago Bulls, paying $50 is a lot l

But, I have been asked several times this semester if the cocktail lounge serves cocktails, so I thought a guide might be useful to new students or those that couldn't explore Cornell due to the panini press.
Cheat sheet: Noise travels! Voices above a whisper and crunchy foods will piss people off.
A spatial overview:
The cocktail lounge is not, as the name suggests, a place to hang out and drink cocktails. Most of the time, it is a pleasant place to study. I find that the atmosphere helps me stay focused without the stress that emanates from Duffield. While whispering is common and does not travel far, the nature of the layout means that louder noises do travel, especially voices. During a ~6 hour study period today, there were maybe four people that were obnoxiously loud, so it isnβt much of a hindrance to studying, only annoying. There are three main types of work areas (while we are in a panorama):
Before COVID (and after the remodel), there were also couch things you could sit on and small group rooms you could reserve on tablets outside the rooms. The small rooms arenβt super soundproof, but normal conversation was fine. Primes spots look out over the slope, but if I really need to focus, I like the desks with frosted dividers. All chair options are comfortable to sit in for a prolonged period of time. The cocktail lounge is open 24/7, and even during busy times, there are still spaces available.
More explicit rules to not piss people off:
If you would like guides to other spaces or would like to add to this one, just comment or message me if you have comment anxi

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster and I'm just so grateful that in reading alot of your posts, I truly feel less alone. I'm a not so new first time mom to a 13 month old. First in my small friends group to have kids and most of my cousins have had kids for years now. Older brother #1 has a 5 year old but due to life our sister is raising him with their mom (we have same dad different mom). Brothers #2 & 3 have no kids. So besides some groups on the book of faces I really have no community. And become a mom during a panini certainly hasn't helped. BF swears he understands but ππ I'll get more into that later. Being a SAHM can be so isolating, but it's less so with places like this β€οΈ
What finally drove me to post was what I thought was a simple request, but of course is anything we ask our SOs simple π(according to them might as well ask them to build an ark and round up all the animals).
It's been a long with with LO coming down with an ear infection and with that a fever. His food appetite has been off so he's been nursing much more and it has been harder to sneak in quiet moments for myself. Today (well Friday) we had our follow-up plus blood work that was pushed back because of the ear infection. Something in LOs little brain has made the connection Dr= lose your goddamn shit. So you can imagine how fun the appointment must have been. The office is a few blocks away from a local supermarket and I decided that we'd take a walk there, grab him some crunches and catch the taxi home from there. Well of course taxi was to be at minimum, 30-45 minutes. Nope, we could walk home in that amount of time. So we did. LO slept the whole way home so no nap for me. BF gets home 1.5 hours later and I just wanted him to play/occupy/whatever LO for 30 minutes or so, so I could maybe fall half asleep. I'm laying on the floor letting LO crawl over me/lay on me. So what does this man do? Lays on the floor too and proceeds to scroll on his phone, occasionally picking up LOs tablet and holding it for him. There's not enough space for both of us to be laying and LO to play comfortably but I couldn't leave the room because LO wasn't having that and after his rough week I get it. So I sit up, start playing with him and getting real passive aggressive with BF. He's like what's your problem??? Like really?! And then he has the nerve to start falling asleep!! I kicked him and told him I have to go to the bathroom and he's going to have to play with LO bec

But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"

.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
Hi Meal Planners!
If you've planned with us before, welcome back. This year, /u/seabluz and I will be sharing the thread-posting and tagging responsibilities, so that if one of us needs to fall off the radar, the group is not left hanging! If you haven't planned with us before, jump right in. We are planning our meals for the week, and turning chore time into social time. Browse for ideas, make suggestions, share your own plan. It's inspiring to see what other people are having, and sometimes you get a great idea or you try something completely new. This is totally a no-pressure-no-judgment zone. Start a conversation with any of us. Food unites.
If you post a meal plan, you'll be tagged to join us in future posts, as a reminder to stay organized and keep the planning going. If you'd like to stop being tagged; just let me know. No hard feelings. Sometimes a tag creates too much pressure - I get it.
#So, anyone want to plan with us?

And then you will all be sorry.
So I've found myself in a little bit of a pickle. While waiting for my JET Program interview invitation in February, I succumbed to panic and second guessing myself and applied for AEON. By a sheer stroke of luck, I got invitations to AEON and JET on the same day. Fast forward to present day. I have had both interviews already and I was invited to a secondary group interview with AEON that is to take place in early April. And as many of you may already be familiar, the JET program's hiring process and timeline is significantly longer than AEON's and word on the street is that we wont be hearing anything about our interview results until late April (US applicants, cant speak for other countries).
My point being, I have both of these things going on, but I don't want to get myself into trouble and agreeing to anything with AEON before I even know what my results with JET are. And thats IF there are no delays in JET's results announcements. ( we are still in a punjabi panini press after all) At what point should I consider the "point of no return" and pump the breaks? Is it after the Group interview? Advice and insight would be greatly appreciated.
No it doesn't.
Now itβs syncing.
