A list of puns related to "Ottis Anderson"
He was the 1979 offensive rookie of the year, was the Cardinals franchise player for half a decade, is a two time Super Bowl champ, and won the games MVP in XXV. Surprised more people donβt talk about him.
Back to another Giant's RB for todays look at Ottis OJ Anderson. From his wikipedia, Ottis Jerome "O.J." Anderson (born January 19, 1957) is a former American football running back who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL). He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press (AP) with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1979, and the MVP of Super Bowl XXV in 1991 when playing with the New York Giants. He played college football at the University of Miami.
Anderson was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a football and track star at Forest Hill High School in West Palm Beach, Florida before graduating in 1975. He went on to attend the University of Miami on a full athletic scholarship and earned a degree in Physical Education. During his college career, Anderson broke Chuck Foreman's career rushing records at the University of Miami, becoming the first player to rush for more than 1,000 yards in the school's history his senior year with 1,266 yards. He was named The Sporting News and the American Football Coaches First Team All-American and received All-American honorable mentions by both AP and UPI and graduated in 1979 as the team's all-time leading rusher with 3,331 yards.[[1]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottis_Anderson#cite_note-OJAbi

I'm going to list a player/coach (in this case, Ottis Anderson) who is a borderline Hall of Famer. I won't list any joke answers (Blaine Gabbert), I won't list any players who are definitely getting in (Peyton Manning), and the only current players that will have their thread will be active players at the end of their careers (Frank Gore, Andre Johnson, etc.)
I'll list some notable stats about that player/coach. Obviously, those shouldn't be the only things you base your answers on, but they should provide a reference to help you.
Much like the Super Bowl series, you list reasons as to why the player/coach SHOULD and SHOULDN'T make the Hall of Fame, listing both sides of the argument. NOTE: It's all based on your opinion. It's not about the voters; it's not why he will or will not make the Hall of Fame. Don't say "He will never make the Hall of Fame because he doesn't have voter support"; that's not the point.
Serious responses only.
So, with all of that being said, the forty-third person up for discussion is... Ottis Anderson. As always, if you have any suggestions, go ahead. I'm listening to all of your responses, and I've got a whole list of players coming up. Fire away with any suggestions that you might have.
With Ottis Anderson, here are the notable stats:
2-time Pro Bowler (1979, 1980)
First Team All Pro in 1980
1979 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
1989 NFL Comeback Player of the Year
6 seasons of over 1,000 yards rushing
Finished in the top 10 in rushing yards per game 6 times (1979-84)
Won Super Bowls XXI and XXV with the New York Giants; named MVP of Super Bowl XXV
10,273 rushing yards; 81 rushing TD
So, why should and shouldn't he be in the Hall of Fame? Discuss below...

I didn't start listening to rap or hip-hop until I was around 16, and even then, I only listened to a handful of artists for a long time. About a year ago exactly, I started exploring the genre more deeply. Here's a compilation of my favorite artists and albums so far.
I'm super open to suggestions based on what I like here, and I also hope my lists may introduce someone to some new artists! I know this list isn't particularly revolutionary and my opinions are pretty popular, but in large part I'm posting here to look for recommendations I haven't explored yet.
Italics indicate I haven't yet explored an artist's entire discography so my thoughts on them aren't final. The bullets under each album are standout tracks.

... keep reading on reddit β‘This is the third part of my ranking of the lead rusher of every Super Bowl winning team. If you haven't been following my ranking, here's a brief explanation. The Lead Rusher is defined as the player who gets the most rushing yards of any player on the team during the regular season of the year that team wins the Super Bowl. So since the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl in 2020, the lead rusher is Ronald Jones, who got the most rushing yards in the 2020 regular season. Even though Leonard Fournette got more action in the playoffs, Jones is still considered the lead rusher. I am ranking the players based on their entire careers, not the Super Bowl seasons. In cases where a player led more than one Super Bowl winning team in rushing, they receive one entry for their entire career, not separate entries for each season. Due to several repeats, there are only 43 entries on this list. Since I am ranking the lead rusher I'm primarily going to be looking at their rushing stats, although I will include their receiving stats as well if it's relevant.
To make this ranking easier, I divided it into four parts: The Bottom Tier (43-31), the Mid Tier (30-21), The Top Tier (20-11), and the Hall of Fame Tier (10-1). This is the Top Tier, including entries 20 through 11. I will link to the previous two posts at the bottom.
Let's begin.
20. Wendell Tyler, 1984 San Francisco 49ers (246 attempts, 1262 yards, 7 touchdowns)
For much of his career, Wendell Tyler was a very underrated back. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tyler went west to play college football at UCLA. He currently remains fifth all-time in rushing yards for the Bruins, and helped them win the 1975 Rose Bowl. He stayed in Southern California after the Los Angeles Rams selected him in the third round of the 1977 draft. Tyler saw very little playing time his first two years as the backup to Pro Bowler Lawrence McCutcheon, and he received just 75 carries combined in 1977 and 1978.
The Rams stuck with Tyler, and he broke out in 1979, helping them reach their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Tyler led the team with 218 carries, 1109 yards, and 9 rushing touchdowns, beating out former lead rushers Lawrence McCutcheon and Cullen Bryant for the starting job. He also contributed to the receiving game, catching 32 passes for 308 yards. On the Ramsβ Cinderella run to the Super Bowl, Tyler helped the Rams knock off the 2x defending NFC champion Cowboys with a receiving touchdown. Tyler played in his first Su

... keep reading on reddit β‘I really enjoyed doing my Super Bowl losing Quarterbacks ranking (thanks to everybody who followed that) so I definitely wanted to do another one. Since my last two series both focused on quarterbacks, I wanted to do another position this time, so I thought it would be fun to rank the lead rusher of every team that won the Super Bowl.
First, let's define what we mean by lead rusher. The term "lead rusher" refers to the player who gained the most rushing yards of any player on the team during the regular season of the year that team won the Super Bowl. In the case of every Super Bowl winning team, that player is always either a running back or a fullback. In some cases, one back gets more carries or touchdowns, or a different back will take the lead in the playoffs, but the player included on the list is the one who got the most rushing yards during the regular season. However, I am ranking the players based on their entire careers and not just the Super Bowl season. In cases where the same player led more than one Super Bowl winning team in rushing yards, that player will receive one entry for their entire career, not separate entries for each season. Because of several repeats, a total of 43 men have led the 55 Super Bowl winning teams in rushing.
To make this ranking easier, I've divided it into four tiers: The Bottom Tier (43-31), the Mid Tier (30-21), the Top Tier (20-11), and the Hall of Fame Tier (10-1). This is the second post in the series, the mid tier. I will begin working on the Top Tier post and post it as soon as it is ready, probably some time in the next week. I will link to Part 1 at the bottom.
Let's begin.
30. Matt Snell, 1968 New York Jets (191 attempts, 695 yards, 4 touchdowns)
A native of Long Island, Snell was a versatile player who played halfback, fullback, and defensive end at Ohio State. Both New York teams selected Snell in the 1964 draft- the Jets took him with the third overall pick in the first round of the AFL draft, while he fell to the fourth round of the NFL draft and was selected by the Giants. Snell opted to play for the Jets.
Snell quickly became New Yorkβs lead rusher. His rookie year, he was named an AFL All-Star after rushing for 948 yards and 5 touchdowns, second in the league behind Buffaloβs Cookie Gilchrist, and the first of three such nods he would earn in his career. Between 1964 and 1969, Snell led the Jets in rushing yards every year except 1967, where he played in only seven games due to torn k

In determining what loss is most heartbreaking, I consider a few things: Context of the game, context of the season, the way the game ends, among other things. Also, I'm not a fan of any of the teams on this list, so what I consider heartbreaking might be different from other fans. Let's begin.
New England Patriots: Super Bowl XLII
The Patriots have experienced far less heartbreak than other teams over the last 20 years. Even when their season didn't end in a Super Bowl victory, they still had their success the fall back on. Super Bowl XLII was different. The 2007 Patriots weren't just the best team in the league. They were on the verge of history.
In 2007, Tom Brady went off, tossing a total of 50 touchdowns (a single season record at the time), with 23 of them going to Randy Moss (still a single season record to this day), on his way to winning the first MVP award of his still young career. The Patriots dominated on their way to winning all sixteen of their regular season games, becoming the first team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to complete a perfect regular a season, and the first team to do so in a 16 game season.
The Patriots made it look easy in the AFC playoffs, beating the Jaguars and Chargers both by two scores to push their record to 18-0. The only thing standing between them and perfection was a 10-6 wildcard team, the New York Giants, fronted by fourth year signal caller Eli Manning. The Patriots entered the game as 12 point favorites.
Despite the hype surrounding the Patriots' historic offense, the game turned into a low-scoring defensive slugfest. The Giants' elite pass rush, led by Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, and Osi Umenyiora, made things difficult for Brady. Still, the Patriots held on to a 7-3 lead when the fourth quarter began. Early in the fourth quarter, the Giants took a 10-7 lead on a 5 yard pass from Manning to David Tyree, but the Patriots responded with a drive that ended in a 6 yard touchdown from Brady to Moss, giving the Patriots a 14-10 lead with 2:42 to go.
Eli Manning began the ensuing drive on his own 17 with 2:38 to go. One stop, and the Patriots' would be perfect. But Eli Manning would not be stopped on this day. Everybody remembers the "Helmet Catch" from Manning to Tyree on this drive, arguably the most famous play in Super
