A list of puns related to "Orgo Chem"
I have ogilvie but he seems really strict and scary so idk
I took gen chem II last spring and am trying to brush up on topics before I start orgo in a few weeks. I ordered the "OChem as a Second Language" text from Klein on Amazon, but would love to hear your perspective.
It's a bit tricky because my gen chem class was online, and I did well but just didn't feel like the learning experience "stuck" as well as in person classes did. Our exams were open book/note which just felt like a cop-out. I'm hoping I can make up for my rustiness with a little effort and really memorize what I need to.
Hi! Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.
I am a nursing major whoβs been out of school working. Last semester I decided to take a general chemistry class because I havenβt taken any university level chemistry. I ended up doing quite well on it and was planning to take Orgo chem this semester. However, it may be difficult to get into and now Iβm thinking it may be better just to focus on studying for the MCAT instead of taking a course that would only get me anywhere for uOttawa (Iβd still have to take Orgo 2 and biochem to even apply)? Also uOttawa would only take my first two years for cGPA which leaves me at a disadvantage because my first year was significantly worse.
Thoughts? Any other non traditionals who did or didnβt take prerequisites to help with MCAT studying?
hey! I'm taking chem 202 this spring with Baldwin and I was wondering if anyone had any past practice / released exams for the course. It would rlly help for midterm preparation and it would be greatly appreciated!
I am taking an extremely difficult organic chemistry class this spring semester and it begins this week. I am looking to do 1 on 1 session via discord where we review and work on it together, you need to be an expert in this topic and need to explain concepts with me and help me study/review. I would also prefer it if you spoke fluent English. My ideal price for sessions would be $20 - $25 per hour depending on what you have to offer (keep in mind I am a college student with barely any money) but we would meet multiple times and hours per week.
In Chem 241, do we need an organic chem molecular model kit? Does anyone have any suggestions on good ones on Amazon?
I asked a few weeks back but didnβt get a clear answer, thereβs no prep for Chem in the Spring
Given how last minute putting the exam online is (as of now we still haven't heard anything), I think it would make the most sense to have the final be optional. Students are super stressed, and this is a 2.5 hour test that in an online setting will definitely be cheated on, creating more fairness problems for everyone.
Maybe the course staff could consider filling the grade with our best prelim score, or potentially averaging each prelim score? In any case, lack of access to test-taking locations, printers, academic integrity, etc. is adding even more stress to an already stressful situation.
If thereβs anyone whoβs going to drop orgo chem 2 and is in section P, pls let me know because I need to get in. Thank you
Can someone send me the link to the discord chat for CHM1321? Thanks!
What to review out of Orgo 1 and what Orgo 2 concepts to pre study? How hard are his tests (memorization vs conceptual, etc.)?
Does anyone know how much Jasmin curves at the end of the semester? I have a 73, will the curve bring me to at least an 80?
Hi im not sure if this is the right place to ask but im in general chemistry 1 right now and it seems almost entirely math based every chapter so far seems to be just conversions of some sort and itβs frustrating! Is organic chemistry also just a bunch of math?

Is it still really bad that I did poorly in gen chem 2? (& maybe one gen chem lab?) My mental health was so bad during that semester bc we were transitioning online. Thankfully Iβve gotten an A in both Orgo 1&2, and now TAβing for both classes.
Literally the only classes below an A I got were in Gen Chem 2 & Gen Chem 1 lab, just worried because I want to get into a T20 school :(
Recently I've decided to change the track I am on for my bio degree, and to be quite honest I already hated organic chemistry before but now realizing that is isnt going to be important for my career I really don't care too much about taking it, especially for its difficulty and the amount of work it requires. My counselor and I aren't sure if I can mentally handle another orgo class anytime soon lmao but I also don't want to take a break from chemistry courses completely and have to relearn everything after being separated from chem for so long.
I have already taken and passed Orgo 1, and I am currently in its corresponding Orgo lab, but have been wondering if it would instead be better (or even allowed??) if I could take the alternate Analytical Chemistry I & II classes instead of continuing down this path with orgo courses.
Has anyone done this before, switching to take the alternate versions of the class required for your degree? Or have any of you taken both Orgo and Analytical Chem, and could tell me if you believe one is any better than the other? Thank you :)
I graduated in 2020 and forgot mostly everything, any advice? ive tried khan academy videos but im honestly really confused while watching
does anyone have their sch4u organic chem test that i can use to practice or know anywhere i can find one?? iβm super stressed out about the upcoming test for this unit and having a practice test would really help π
Anyone that has taken this lab before, what was the class average/curve at the end for the lab portion?
The grade distribution for the all of 315 seems to be 90% atm and just curious if that is likely to go up or down. We're doing the Caffeine lab this week and still have IR spec, Qual. Analysis, Sn1, and Rad. Chem left. (No reports this semester but 2-10 question quizzes).
what should i do to prepare if i forgot a lot of genchem over the summer, or is orgo diff and not entirely reliant on concepts from genchem?
