SITUATION

MAP OF THE AO

After successfully obtaining an armed submarine, Triple Episilon spent a week of well-deserved vacation at a remote island in the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, TEST needs money and resources to continue to operate, so Command has found a suitable target for you to get back to the grind of daily work: extrajudicial killings, stealing things, and now piracy.

Command has identified three locations on the nearby island of Stratis that house cutting-edge military research facilities, as well as the central base that they operate out of.

OBJECTIVE

Raid each of the three research facilities: Tempest HQ, Maxwell HQ, and Range HQ. Kidnap at least twenty-five (25) scientists.

EXECUTION

Pick up vehicles from the β€œStashed vics” mark. Drive to each base and assault it, killing any resistance you find and kidnapping as many scientists as possible. You may attack the bases in any order you wish. Avoid Air Station Mike-26 – it is heavily fortified and extremely dangerous. In addition, do not kill or disable any rescue vehicles dispatched from Air Station Mike-26: based on the Altian Government’s standard operating procedure documentation, it is extremely likely that upon losing any chance of exfiltrating their assets multiple artillery strikes will target the remaining scientists.

VEHICLES

You have been provided with 2x offshore raiding craft that you may use freely. There are also three transport vehicles at the β€œStashed vics” mark that you may pick up: An HMG Fennek, a Mog transport, and a HEMMT covered transport. You are also supported by a Virginia-class submarine, which is armed with cruise missiles. YOU WILL HAVE TO RADIO CRUISE MISSILE STRIKES IN TO COMMAND.

WEAPONS

After some tinkering by a local car mechanic, the gun pit now dispenses weapons that start with β€œHK” or β€œH&K”. In addition, it is incapable of attaching any sort of silencer or flash hider.

META NOTES

The cruise missiles may hit sufficiently tall terrain between them and your target depending on where the submarine is. If you want the submarine to move, you’ll have to let me know. It’s n

#SITUATION

28th March, 1942. 00:30 local time

The British had won the Battle of Britain; the weight at home was lifted. However the Battle for the Atlantic was still ongoing, and Britain was in a desperate way. With shipping being sunk at an alarming rate, higher than could be replaced at, Britain was running into a very troubling situation of supplies shortage. More than that, Britain was losing morale; the initial assault on North Africa was beaten back by Rommel and the Afrika Corps, and the defeat at Dunkirk still was a fresh wound in peoples' eyes. This plan was driven away by almost all of the CO's of the regular army however, many years later, it would be classified in military circles as "The Greatest Raid of Them All."

MISSION

  • Ram (that's not a typo, RAM) the HMS Campbeltown into the dock gates of St. Nazaire

  • Explode the dock winding houses, the drainage pumps and kill absolutely every German that stands in your way

  • Escape... or at least try.

Book recommendations on the St. Nazaire raid / Operation Chariot 1942

Hi guys, I've recently finished reading George Millar's book on the Bruneval Raid, and want to look into other raids, such as St. Nazaire. I've always had a basic understanding of the raid, but fancy getting into the nitty gritty details. I will been looking at C. E. Lucas Philips's book, 'The Greatest Raid of All' and Jon Cooksey's book, 'Operation Chariot: The Raid on St. Nazaire'. Just thought I'd pop into r/history to get some extra opinions.

Thanks
