So I just finished the book and I loved every part of it, well almost, the sections with nimue felt out of place for me.

I mean at first, I thought they were a way to draw contrasts between the actual events of the story and how it passed into legend, I thought it was nice since the book demonstrated the lodge's interest in deciding how posterity sees these events.

But then nimue becomes a very big part of the story in one single sudden scene helping ciri get to stygga castle, and Iam left bamboozled, is she integral to the story? did she know that ciri will come back to that lake sometime in the future? does ciri remain lost without her help?

These are rhetorical questions, because honestly this just came across as poor writing, it felt that making ciri find her own way and maybe even journey a bit with geralt's company would have been a better way to write the story, rather than being helped by a sorceress fan.

I want to know what you guys think about it.

Oneiromancer

Divination Savant

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy a Divination spell into your spellbook is halved. In addition, you learn the ‘’Sleep’’ spell if you dont already know it, and upon reaching 3rd level in this subclass you learn the ‘’Detect thougts’’ spell. Neither of these spells counts toward your spells known

Sandman

Beginning at 2nd level you can, as an action, have any creature within sight succeed on a Wisdom saving throw contested by your spell save DC or be put to sleep. The creature can continue to make saving throws at the end of each of its turns. The creature is immune to this if they are immune to being magically put to sleep. Injuring this creature, except through your ‘’Nightmare’’ feature at 10th level, automatically awakens it.

You can use this feature up to a number equal to your proficiency bonus. Uses recharges on a long rest.

Sleepwalker

Beginning at 2nd level you can enter a deep sleep and project your image and all you’re carrying. This copy, acting as a physical creature that you can command as you see fit, has the same amount of hit points you do, can be affected by all spells you can be affected by, and doesnt need to eat, sleep or drink. You can cast spells through it and do everything you could normally do through this copy. The copy also has copies of everything you carry on it. While in this deep sleep, you are considered incapacitated, blind, deaf, has nos ense of touch or taste, as you project your entire consiousness throug this copy. If this copy is dropped to 0 hit points, you fall to 0 hit points and are stabilized, and you can then choose between your location or the copys location to transport to. If subjected to a ‘’Detect magic’’ spell, the copy must make an intelligence saving throw against the DC for the spell, or have its magical essence known. ‘’Dispel magic’’ has no effect on the copy. The copy shares all of your stats, spells, and items you’re carrying, as it is essentially a projection of yourself. It also shares your appearence.

Dreamweaver

At 6th level you can scry on any sleeping creatures within 1mile of yourself or your copy (your choice), following the rules of the scrying spell. The Oneiromancer (Dream Mage), a prestige class for Pathfinder 1e. Thoughts? Any abilities that should be buffed, debuffed, or rearranged? Any better name ideas for the class features (I know Powerful Sleep sounds very dumb but it's all I can think of)?

A few notes:

• I realize that overriding mind-affecting effect immunity is pretty hardcore and potentially game-breaking, but I'm pretty married to that part of it--anything powerful enough that it'd be game-breaking should have too many hit dice for it to be much of a concern unless your caster optimizes specifically for Cha, and very high Will saves to boot. Any suggestions on how to make that bit more balanced are welcome, any suggestions to eliminate it entirely are less so.

• I'm unsure if the prereq should maybe be second-level spells, rather than third, since it's Charisma-based and most Charisma casters would only unlock it after sixth level as is.

K sat down in his meditative harness, carefully sticking its electrodes into his jelly-like skin to complete the contacts with his nervous system. He shuddered as the system sent an exploratory pulse of mental static out to test the connection, but then settled into the harness as it subsided. He focused on opening a communication channel with his commanding officer. Lazily, the knowledge of his mission floated into his head.

Target – T-sapients, local name humans, newly discovered species

Goal – Surveillance, capability assessment, espionage, attack strategies

Methodology – Establish neural bridge during vulnerable hours, infiltrate and manipulate thoughts, if danger of discovery terminate target before severing bridge

A list of accessible targets brushed against K’s mind. They were mostly clumped together geographically he noticed, though the planet was smaller than most he was used to thinking of. The world that snuck in as an impression in K’s mind seemed small and poorly defended. K decided this would be a rather easy job with so many targets to choose from. It would take forever for his specie’s espionage to be found out if they could spread their attacks and spying missions so easily. With thoughts of rapid ascension through the ranks for his role in the subjugation of the T-sapients, K began to recite the phrases that helped him focus in and establish a bridge. He plucked a name randomly off the list, slotting it in at the appropriate places, and felt his mind drift through space and time as the neural bridge was finalized.

K stood on a dark, hard surface surrounded by large boxy objects that he assumed were houses. The sky above him was black and dotted with faint stars. He reached out and found the glimmer of his target’s mind, wandering the darkness comfortably. K observed for a while, noting the mental motes of the target as it wandered. It had several labels it applied to itself, which K noted down for his report: male, American, researcher, in a relationship, hobbyist, and many more vague notions besides. Many of the labels didn’t yet make sense, but his species always liked having more data rather than less. With his initial observation done, K decided to test out some basic manipulation.

When K pushed into the mind, he was amazed at how much it moved. Thoughts and suggestions came bubbling up rapidly, more data than K could process. It took

I'm trying to do a dream journal but I'm not exactly the writer type. Is there any format that any of you use for your personal dream journals? Like do you go describe the scene first? The mood? The characters involved? Whose perspective? How thorough are you? Do you write in multiple paragraphs to describe every detail? Do you narrate?

I'm glad they gave fen the character conclusion she deserved in the end, even though for a huge part of the show she was pretty overlooked. I was half expecting the writers to make her a magician in season four after she was contacted by the Napster. While "dream magic" isn't as exciting as phosphoromancy, it would still be pretty cool to see especially since they can play around with it as much as they want, like have her astral project into people's dreams or see the future in dreams. even if she doesn't develop full magician powers they can simply expand on her discipline

Is anyone having dreams of death. Everyone in my circle of friends and companions is having dreams of an atrocity to come. I’m coming to y’all to see if anyone else in different disciplines of magic and spirituality are having these dreams.

I’m scared.

As he was dragged through the streets of the Capital, Lorcan seethed. At the Empire. At the Emperor. At the soldiers.

At himself.

He had been a fool, wringing nightmares to draw droplets of light. In his heart, he knew that he couldn’t have saved them all … but he could have tried. Few had awoken the night the soldiers came. Lorcan had known they were coming. He had seen his capture, the smoke and fire and death. Yet, he had done nothing.

I should have warned them…

Lorcan blinked as something cracked against his jaw. A stone. Then another. They came from either side of the crowded street, falling like hail upon him. For a moment his mind slipped into unconsciousness, but Lorcan knew his time had not yet come.

His trial had lasted less than a bell. The verdict of the Emperor’s judge given almost as soon as Lorcan’s crimes had been read. A pair of soldiers had tied his hands together and hitched the thick rope to the back of a chariot. He had had been dragged from the square, forced to stumble before the mob of citizens who desired his treacherous blood.

Lorcan wondered if they had heard his telling. That the Emperor was destined to die by the sword of a slave.

Oneiromancy had existed in his family for centuries. Some were strong in the ability, able to assess the world through the dreams of others; others could barely interpret their own. Lorcan had been the most skilled in generations. From the time he could comprehend language, he had been able to piece together the future of others.

Lorcan’s reputation had grown as he aged. Soon, prominent figures from the surrounding villages sought his services. Logically, it had only been a matter of time before the Empire learned of his existence, before they sent one an envoy of their own.

If only I had realized it was him…

The Emperor had come in disguise. Lorcan had mistakenly judged him to be a wealthy merchant, the type of men who frequented his growing village. The Emperor had refused to interact with the villagers, to barter for their goods and services. His personal guard, a trio of soldiers, had been responsible for two deaths and nearly burned down the village’s lone inn. In the span of a single night, Lorcan had grown to hate him.

Given time to reflect, the signs of the man’s status were apparent within his dreams. A palace. A golden crown. However, these factors had been only ancillary to the dream’s underlying truth.

That truth had been Lorcan’s undoing. For the first time in

Triss and Dijikstra make it a big point that Radovid and the Witch Hunters are hunting down all sorts of magic-using folk, including anyone from full-blown sorceresses to those suspected of having magical items in their possessions. Even alchemists are at risk, as seen by the intense effort on the part of the Witch Hunters to catch Albert Vegelbud who only dabbled in alchemy.

However at least two herbalists/alchemists still hold prominent positions in Novigrad. One in Hierarch Square, and the other on the southern banks who also happens to be a Halfling (which should be a double conviction for also being a non-human, prime for prejudice). Perhaps more surprisingly, Corinne Tilly, an Oneiromancer who magically interprets and induces vivid dreams is allowed to walk the streets to no ill-effect. She's even able to buy a property in the center of Novigrad, and makes no such efforts to hide her identity or abilities like Triss Merigold has done.

I get that Radovid's whole shtick is being unstable and crazy which could provide inconsistencies, but surely he and the Witch Hunters would adhere to the black and white notions of capturing/killing/subjugating magical beings/magical professions rather than showing mercy to a lot of them. Hell Geralt's identity as a "mutant" and a "non-human" is frequently criticised by the Witch Hunters, but he's allowed relative freedom in exchange for the services he provides and his usefulness to Radovid. Once that's said and done, it's likely he'd be carted off somewhere too. What about the others in Novigrad that aren't useful to Radovid or the Witch Hunters but do still involve themselves with magic?

Spectate Dreams Level 2 Illusion 1 Action Self SM Material: a pluck of sheep's wool

For the duration, you can view the dreams of certain creatures. When you cast the spell and as your action on each turn until the spell ends, you can focus your mind on any one sleeping creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the creature you choose has an Intelligence of 3 or lower or doesn't speak any language, the creature is unaffected.

You initially see the current dream of the creature - what it is dreaming of at this moment. As an action, you can either shift your attention to another sleeping creature or attempt to probe deeper into the same creature's mind. If you probe deeper or attempt to communicate with the creature, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. If it fails, you gain insight into its reasoning (if any), its emotional state, and something that looms large in its mind (such as something it worries over, loves, or hates). If it succeeds, the spell ends and the creature realises it is being watched. If it fails, and the creature received a suggestion, it will think of this as one of its own ideas and will remember it while awake.

You can also use this spell to detect the presence of dreaming creatures you can't see. When you cast the spell or as your action during the duration, you can search for thoughts within 30 feet of you. The spell can penetrate barriers, but 2 feet of rock, 2 inches of any metal other than lead, or a thin sheet of lead blocks you. You can't detect a creature with an Intelligence of 3 or lower or one that doesn't speak any language.

Once you detect the presence of a creature in this way, you can view its dreams for the rest of the duration as described above, even if you can't see it, but it must still be within range.

When cast at a higher level: The caster can view the dream with one extra creature per spell level. If the creature is unwilling, it must also make a Wisdom saving throw against the casters DC.

Looking for feedback. I designed it for my PC in our CoS campaign as a bridge to the Dream spell.

How come she just stays in Novigrad after Now or Never? Triss was a close associate of Corinne, since she did refer Geralt to her when he wanted help. Why did Triss apparently not think to include her in the plan to escape?

Corinne seems happy enough living with Sarah in the abandoned house, but it seems dangerous that they would just stay there, even with Sarah's illusion-making powers protecting them.

That said, I don't know what happens if I kick Sarah out, but I understand Corinne stays anyway, except she's alone which seems even worse.
