A list of puns related to "One Sentence"
"If I tell you how your character is feeling, act like that, and don't argue with me about it."
"You don't have to write backstories for your characters, it's not like I'm going to read them"
In Dawn of Fire: Gate of Bones when Torvann Lokk ascends to daemonhood he hears, "Iron within, iron without" presumably hearing his gene-father, Peter Turbo. It's cool, creepy, and a great moment IMO.
I read that line and it just really stood out to me. Would love to see some other favorite quotes/moments/phrases from the lore that stand out to others as "cool".
most tasteless way
"You guys are my normal group, my other one is full of lesbians and trans people"
I tried summing up the top 50 coins in 1 or 2 sentences. It is not perfect and you obviously shouldn't make any decision based on this list, but hopefully it will help newcomers find some projects they're interested in and understanding a little bit better this technology.
If something is wrong or misleading, feel free to comment and I'll edit the post. Obviously in 2 sentences is hard to describe the whole project idea, but I tried my best.
"I will write the session on how i WANT you guys to act, if you dont want to do these things then tough luck"
Me a player being told by another player: You can't do that because I don't think your character would do that!
My life is a series of painful regrets for not taking good opportunities.
I could have become a video game designer, but I didn't have the motivation and patience for coding classes.
I could have become a Youtuber and made lots of friends online, but I never took my parents' constant advice to start by making any videos with my iPhone.
I could have been really outgoing, had a lot of fun, and made a lot of friends in college, but I just stayed in my room because of my introverted nature.
I could have done SO many things to better my life up to this point, but I didn't because I'm so used to having my folks do everything for me. I have no interests other than drawing fanart and writing fanfics. I can't think of any trades I'd be interested in learning. My parents have to nag me into going onto job sites. Hell, I don't even feel like shopping for a new car since I wrecked the one they gave me back in high school.
My only job right now is a boring retail job that I hate, but took in order to start paying some of my own bills (on my parents' orders). Most of my expenses are paid for by them and what little savings I have could never cover them for even a month.
I am constantly looking for sympathy and playing the victim instead of actually working to help myself (even though I also make fun of those who do).
In short, I'm a lazy loser and I hate myself.
EDIT: Iβm 26 and by βeven though I also make fun of those who do,β I was talking about entitled and selfish people who play victim.
DOUBLE EDIT: Iβm an autistic introvert who got a Bachelors Degree in Studio Art. However, I live in an area with no job openings for artists and I canβt afford to move, much less live on my own. Until recently, my parents paid for my living expenses and bills while I worked various retail jobs.
TRIPLE EDIT: Holy shit, I never expected to get this many responses!
Recently I stumbled upon Algorand and how cheap the transaction fees are while providing decent APY.
Another one is Cosmos and how you can specifically choose validators when delegating your atoms with a 21 day unbonding time.
This could be a good way to help people get a quick idea of some coins people may or may not heard of.

We are a nation of inventors, and every invention is patented; yet, curiously, there is no subject quite so void of interest to the average gentle reader," as patents and patent-rights. Why, it is hard to say; for there is no factor of modern civilization that comes home to every one more constantly or more closely. Indeed, in their ubiquity and unresting action, patents have been aptly likened to the taxes which Sydney Smith described as following the overtaxed Englishmen of his day from the cradle to the grave.
I shall start with... their first baseman is currently enjoying one of the finest bromances in all of sport with a fellow first baseman from another team.
Doing a search on twitter for examples:
"Having Superman help Batman get up from that pit of darkness is so fucking poetic" / "This movie is going to be one of the most insane fucking things put to screen" / "I FUCKING KNEW IT" / "Nobody fucking argue with me, go argue with the wall"
It's a disaster each time. It can dislodge the meter. It can be placed where a gerund is naturally expected, making an already bad sentence require a re-read. I can take the wind out of the word that actually deserves the emphasis, and remind the experienced reader of other, less than pleasant, instances in which they've experienced the word (not the concept, necessarily).
These examples could be improved by selecting one of the following strategies: dropping it entirely, using "goddamn" for a meter that's more even, or employing some inventive or scarcely used emphatic.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk
Since getting 1, 3 or 7 life sentences makes no difference for the person in question.
Edit: So if I understand this correctly.. in the US if you are acquitted for some of the crime you will automatically be acquitted for all the crime. For instance if you killed 5 people, but it turns out you didn't kill the other 2 you were initially also convicted for. So you go free. Over here the conviction would just be changed from 7 murders to 5 murders. Hence my confusion.
Edit 2: And then someone else said this is not how it works. Back to square one.
I'm watching season 3 for the first time and up until now Camilla has irritated me for absolutely no reason apart from the fact that I love to watch a bit of drama and she doesn't bring it. I know that's not the best mindset to have but that's my thing. I've just got to episode 21 (after the recouping where Dom told the group Johnny likes Tyler) and Camilla said "I don't want him to feel like I'm the only option - I want there to be an option and for him to choose me" and wow. That hit me. That's the purest and most real thing I've ever heard on this show and I just got a huge wave of affection for her.
βRegression to the mean.β
For context I am a 30yo demisexual-bisexual cis woman and this is a story about when I came out to my Nmom as bisexual (TW: Homophobia).
Let me set the scene for you:
Me: 14 years old
Nmom: Sitting on her bed in her bedroom quietly (yet also menacingly) reading a book
After months of trying to work up the courage to come out to my parents as bisexual I finally decided that it would be best to come out to them one at a time.
Since my Nmom had a day off and seemed to be in a good mood I decided I could gently come out to her first and then I could come out to my dad when he got off of work.
Me: (Walks into her doorway and quietly waits until she looks up from her book) I have something super important that I want to tell you about myself.
Nmom: What is it babydoll? (ugh, I hate that nickname)
Me: I think it's important that you know that I believe I'm bisexual, which means I like both girls and boys.
30 second pause
Me: (feeling tons of regret and knowing I really f'd up)
Nmom: No you're not.
I'm trying to process this sentence
Me: (sheepishly) What?
Nmom: No. You're. Not. Now go clean your room. (my room was already clean, she just didn't want to deal with me)
I went to my room to cry as quietly as I could so I didn't make her angrier
With such a negative reaction like that I never came out to my dad. I knew, even back then, that my dad would have accepted me without batting an eye, but if my Nmom found out my dad knew and he was supportive of me.... Well, that would not have been good for either of us as my dad and I were the main focus of her wrath.
I finally came out to my dad last week, over 15 years later, and he is super accepting of me, JUST LIKE I KNEW HE WOULD BE!
F*CK you birth monster!
I want anyone who is thinking about coming out to your Nparent to remember that THEY DON'T HAVE TO KNOW. If you're living with them, you're probably not in a safe enough and accepting enough place to come out. These 3 little words have f*cked me up so much and I'm finally working on recovering from all her abuse.
It took me 14 more years after that one little sentence was uttered to finally convince myself that yes, I am bisexual and that's ok. I'm ok. I'm safe now. And I love myself.
