A list of puns related to "Olympic Sound Studios"
I'm very new and completely overwhelmed with the learning curve. I don't even know what words to use when I'm searching for things. Are we producers? DJs? Artists? Mad scientists? For example, how to make sound X or Y. I've stooped as low as typing "FL Studio how to make laser bass" in youtube, but of course the main result uses a plugin I don't have. ARG!
I've tried youtube videos and looked at a few courses. Alot of them are just "turn this dial, then this one, ok moving on...". There's channels with hundreds of videos but I have no context for what 99% of them mean or where to start watching. I've tried googling some tutors or teachers, there's a few options out there but not much. FL Studio does have a section on their site to help you find people but there was only a few and they were quite expensive or clearly dated. Or it was like a company / website offering courses but I'm more interested in 1 on 1, not pre-recorded so I can ask questions.
Is there a hidden gem website where FL Studio teachers exist?
Thanks.
I see a lot of solo/student gamedevs here and that's awesome, but I'm curious how many grizzled ancients hang out here as well. How is your experience? What's your favorite team size? Favorite projects? I'm super interested!
In my personal opinion, I think Snap Out of It when it's performed acoustically sounds awesome live.
I have an issue with construction noise (low pitch motors and high pitch clangs/beeps) near my recording room which shares a wall and window with the outdoors. I have some 2" foam ridge panels that I will set up soon but I feel this will almost definitely not be enough. Do you have any recommendations for good budget bass traps / isolation shields / diffusers? I have a foam cover on my microphone and also a little pop shield in front also, but maybe there's something I can put very close to the microphone as well? I am looking to record vocals with this mic.
TLDR: bass trap / isolation shield / diffuser / mic cover budget options for recording vocals vs. construction noises outside home studio?
Title says it all, is it bad to use free sounds? I don't own any guns
I feel like I should already know how, I've tried spitting into my mic and slapping my table but dont give good results as expected
I'm looking to purchase my first hardware synth. I've been researching both the Moog Sound Studio 3 (DFAM/Mother-32/Subharmonicon) and the Moog Matriarch. Although I think I eventually want to purchase both as they are both semi-modular, I'm only available to fit one within my budget at this time.
The Sound Studio pack looks like a great introduction to the world of modular synthesis. It looks like a fun little music box that would allow me to plug in my headphones, tweak some knobs/patch cables, and unwind from work. Since the Sound Studio is locked into creating 8-step sequences, does it tend to get boring/repetitive after 6+ months?
The Matriarch on the other hand offers more versatility and flexibility with the full playable keyboard so I could possibly still explore the world of Eurorack via the VCV Rack software and figure out how to interface the Matriarch with VCV Rack.
I would love to own both one day, but I think for right now I'll need to choose one at least for the year or so, but any opinions/suggestions would be great!
