[Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix] Oh God, this took a while, huh? Just had to have this, my favourite game EVER, as my first platinum of the year, and my 21st platinum. It was such a ride, even if it took me a lot, I would recommend it to anyone! (Yes, even with the rages from the Data Battles)

Just finished The Uriel Ventris Chronicles volume 1 by Graham McNeill. Let me just say I'm not a big Ultramarines fan. I'm an Imperial Fists boy. But oh my God I don't even care that these are Ultramarines cause this book is so metal. I'm going straight into the Honsou Omnibus from here lol.

Vignette from the 'Book of the Dead' that belonged to Nestanebetisheru. She was a daughter of the High Priest of Amun and later King Pinudjem II (reigned circa 990-969 BCE under the 21st Dynasty), and a priestess of the god Amun-Re at Thebes among several other priestly functions

The Love Hypothesis. Oh. My. God. This book!!! ππ
Could this have been any more perfect?? The characters talk like REAL people! The dialogue was funny and authentic and just made me fall in love with all of them. The sex was believable and authentic. And the MMC was interesting and unique, not just a cookie cutter boring cardboard cutout devoid of any kind of personality. I also found the flow and pacing so refreshing. Loved every minute of it and finished it waaay too quickly!
Edit: THANK YOU THANK YOU to whoever here recommended it!

Oh my god βand then there were noneβ by Agatha Christie had me throwing the book across the room π€―π€―
Just finished βand then there were noneβ. That has to be the most ingenious and best mystery book Iβve ever read. I have been sitting here for half an hour trying to compute what I just read. I cannot express in words how bloody amazing it was. You all must read it! Christie really is the queen of mystery.
π€―π€―π€―π€―ππππ
For those of you who arenβt aware, it is a mystery story where 10 strangers are invited to an island, on which they become stranded, and they start getting picked off one by one.
I also thought it was so incredibly chilling, more so than most of her other books too. The way she wove the web of mystery, skullduggery and suspense was masterful. The nursery rhyme also added a sense of impending doom to myself as the reader. Really clever utilisation of dramatic irony. And the ending was just a punch to the balls!
I am not surprised in the slightest that this is the highest selling mystery book of all time!
Edit: thank you all so much for the other recommendations. Once Iβve finished all the other books on my list - Iβve got 40 - Iβll get round to all these. They all sound amazing!
Edit 2: Iβm so glad I convinced so many of you to pick the book up. I hope you all enjoy it and be sure to return to this post and leave your thoughts when youβre finished! However, I recommend starting on βThe Murder of Roger Ackorydβ, if you havenβt read any Agatha Christie before - itβs a better introduction to her work. Then read βAnd Then There Were Noneβ.
Edit 3: some people thought i included a spoiler when it wasnβt so to shut them up iβve removed it. and also, to the trolls: shush.
Edit 4 (god Iβm doing a lot of these π
): thanks to those of you recommended the BBC/Charles Dance adaptation. It was good. I wish they had made it more true to the book, but it was still enjoyable viewing. Charles Dance was excellent. After youβve finished the book, you ought to watch it. Felt that it wasnβt as chilling as the book, but that might just be because I know the ending lol.

Oh god, I found my new least favorite thing in romance books:
The heroine is all sexy and confident and sOoOoOo quirky and comfortable enough in her sexuality to bone a guy she just met... until she's naked.
So she TRIES TO COVER HERSELF UP, just for him to be all, "dOn'T hiDe FrOm Me BaBy uR bEauTiFuL!"
Ugh. Instant lady boner killer.

Finally started reading PM yesterday, finished book 1 last night, oh my god
I hadn't really read anything about it beyond the blurb in the app and I was assuming it was just going to be like lighthearted romantic fun with some drama between an algorithm-based perfect match and a "real" perfect match.
BUT THEN BRUH. WHAT.
The first few chapters were kind of a slog to me. Damien being hardcore anti-romance and super suspicious of everything was tiresome. Hayden was obnoxiously perfect. I kind of couldn't (& still kind of can't) stand Nadia and Steve.
>!The robot reveal for Hayden made a lot of sense so I wasn't really surprised when it happened. But the plot picked up QUICK after that and I found myself thoroughly invested in everything. I love the way they're approaching the moral aspects of sentient AI technology. Did not expect PB to go there and I am delighted.!<
>!Damien is everything to me now. The personality shift felt a little abrupt but I can't even bring myself to complain about it. Also that diamond scene in Chapter 13 π₯π₯π₯!<
>!When Damien said "It's... indescribable" MY HEART FELL THROUGH THE FLOOR. I still can't believe the emotional wallop that packed. BEAUTIFULLY done but so cruel my god.!<
So yeah. I stayed up most of the night continuing onto Book 2 because I'm invested now. I should have paid more attention to people praising this one. I'm pretty sure it's joined BB and ILITW in my top 3.
