Took some pictures at North Wilkesboro Sunday

Hey folks -- long time, first time. This is the best shape I have seen NWS in several years. Lots of cleanup going on, lots of spent debris and burn piles. Even the concourse under the turns 1-2 grandstands has been cleaned up. Track surface looks like you could have a race there tomorrow. It sure looks like the place is getting ready for a resurrection.

There are still some suites to tear down and plenty of buildings to rehab, but the place feels as alive as it's ever been -- a crazy thing to say for a place figured to be dead for a quarter century.

Also, S/O to the father and son I met at the track on their way to Charlotte. Big Corey Lajoie fans. I suspect this may have been the high-water mark of their day.

The backstretch crossover -- you can really see the downhill-uphill layout here. Look how the stands across on the frontstretch dive away from the skyboxes.

The most modern (circa 1995) of the luxury boxes. Looks like some windows have been knocked out.

Just a man and his son and a friendly dog. Lots of dogs around, actually, but this one walked the perimeter of the facility with us.
