A list of puns related to "North Carolina Science Olympiad"
I did a recap of the 2020 results last year, here, on the 5 most prestigious science Olympiad events. This will be a summary of results in 2021.
I. MATH: https://www.imo-official.org/year_country_r.aspx?year=2021
China is no.1 overall, for the third year running, and has the individual top scorer in Wang Yichuan. Russia came in second, with South Korea at 3rd.
II. PHYSICS: https://www.ipho2021.lt/en/results/
Top individual scorer is Kim Kyung-min of South Korea, with participants from China taking 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place, followed by Leo Yao (6th) and Li Zhening (7th) of the US. Country wise, South Korea, China, Russia and the US are top performers with 5 gold medalists each.
III. Chemistry: https://www.icho2021.org/icho2021/closing/
Can't find a page with the results listed. Instead we have this wacky video of the closing ceremony (link above). Top 3 medalist are announced at 26:46 mark. Clean sweep by China, with Yang Shu taking first place.
IV. INFORMATICS (Programming) : https://stats.ioinformatics.org/results/2021
Another clean sweep by China. The 4 contestants from China took the top 4 spots, followed by Rain Jiang of the US.
V. Biology: https://ibo2021.org/results/
No individual results listed, only a tabulation of gold/silver/bronze medalists in no particular order. Best performers (by country) are China and China.... that's the PRC and ROC (i.e. Taiwan). United States have two gold medalists in Judson Lam and Albert Zhang.
Some observations:

Iβm a Villanova student wondering if we should start a collegiate level science Olympiad/has this ever been thought of?! I miss it so much
Hi guys, It's my first year at a new school, new grades, curriculum and it's very different from my previous positions. On top of that, I'm apparently the coach for Science Olympiad! Yay! What is it? How does it work? I'm going through official websites with tears of frustration.
Can someone tell me specifically the details of all the events? Requirements, materials, possible problems or prohibited materials?
I have no idea why I can't find any of this in a logical place or really anywhere.
Any and all help and resources are greatly appreciated.
Hey! I am a freshman thinking about starting a Science Olympiad club! I just want to know how many people would actually be interested!
A bit about Science Olympiad:
It is a science competition that is for k-12. There is a "event" for all science fields, from astronomy to forensics to ping-pong parachute (rocket project that would require team to safely land egg capsule with parachute). Events range from study, build and hybrid. All the topics are of collegiate level (or possibly higher).
I had a great middle and high school Science Olympiad experience. I also had a great coach that spent everything to help his team win.
Purpose of this club:
Going all the way back... I am still a freshman and this seems like a huge project, but I do have the motivation to do this. Maybe not this year but definitely next year. Feel free to ask me any questions down below!
Go Retrievers!
My friend and I are participating in an international Olympiad between Asia and America. We need a third member to join urgently who has good knowledge of chemistry. The tournament will be on the 23rd and 24th of September. If you want to do it drop your email and discord.
Hey all! Science Olympiad at Cornell is holding a virtual Science Olympiad invitational tournament for middle and high schoolers (divisions B and C) on January 29, 2022. We're planning on holding a satellite-style tournament, meaning students will compete while with their team at school. We're planning to run most of the 2022 events (https://www.soinc.org/events/2022-event-table) with a few modifications.
We're currently looking for event supervisors to write tests, plan for engineering build events, and proctor on the day of the tournament. No prior experience with Science Olympiad is needed! If you're interested, fill out our event supervisor interest form by this Saturday (9/18, tomorrow!): https://forms.gle/VNaumk1PNKBYn6Uj9 and join us on CampusGroups and Slack!
