A list of puns related to "Nokia 800 Tough"
Can you guys tell me which software version you are running? I have a Nokia 800 Tough and I m still on 12.00.17.01.
So this is wild shot in the dark. But my nokia 800 tough just froze today and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to shut down. Any help would be appreciated.
I can only find one on eBay but I am uncertain if it is brand new/will work in the U.S. Is there a known place I can pick one up?
I am trying to use bluetooth APIs, but I can't get access to `navigator.mozBluetooth` even after reading all the relevant docs. Here is what I tried
- minimal repro code https://github.com/SolbiatiAlessandro/bluetooth-kaios
- permission bluetooth in manifest
- privileged app in manifest
- physical phone (Nokia 800 Tough)
- bluetooth turned on
- adb root access (using Wallace Toolbox)
I still get `navigator.mozBluetooth` undefined as screenshot below. The only thing left is that in Firefox WebIDE, under Runtime Info it shows `Unrestricted DevTools privileges: no` and a button "request higher privileges" that I can't click. Maybe that's the problem? How do I request higher privileges with root access?
Already read this post https://www.reddit.com/r/KaiOS/comments/hvu5fh/bluetooth_feature_implementation_in_kaios/ but couldn't solve it.

Nokia (https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_int/retail/nokia-800-tough) states "MicroSD card slot Support for up to 32 GB", but what actually happens if I use a larger one?
I'm mainly thinking about music library and using it as portable drive.
I'm thinking about buying the 800 tough but I'm not sure. I tried the Cat B35 for some days and got really disappointed. Something was very wrong with the Cat, it restarted over and over again so I couldn't rely on it. Also that engine sound, which was nice in the beginning, got extremely annoying. I couldn't find a way to turn it of. The battery also drained fast. I've read that the Nokia has similar problems. I guess it's because of KaiOS? I have an Android but sometimes I feel like I wanna detox and be out in the nature without to much distraction. I also have the Cat B30 which I like but it's just for calling and texting. It has many days of use before battery drains. What I do want is a rugged reliable phone with good battery life. Those new KaiOs phones seem be lying about battery life being about a month or more. I got only 3-4 days trying the Cat B35. I also want the possibility to navigate with Google maps and maybe a simple browser, just in case. The Nokia 800 tough seems to be a lot like the Cat B35 and I wonder if anyone has experience using it outside camping in the woods for a week or so? Is there any other option. I think there's some Sonim with GPS and it's really rugged but it's not running KaiOS. A good thing about the Cat B30 is the simplicity to have a spare battery and change easily. I don't think it's possible on the Nokia and I know you couldn't on the B35. Right now the Nokia tough is on my mind again as they're selling it for 2/3 of the normal price. Please give me your opinions and experiences. Should I go for the Nokia tough or will I be disappointed?
Hi Iβm in New England and am thinking about a Nokia 800 Tough. I want something more basic and, well tougher then my current IPhone. Iβm just a bit confused on how I should choose a carrier. Iβm not particularly tech savvy. Thanks in advance!
While toying with my Nokia 800 Tough, I found an option to reverse polarity of screen, so now all images and content are rendered in negativized colours.
It's quite cool but means I can't make out attached images or videos nor watch them satisfactorily on websites.
Scrolling through the manual I can't find any reference to this option (nor how to reverse it.)
Of course, I could reset phone (found that option) but surely there's a way to undo the negativising without a total reset?
[SOLVED!]
Hi,
I did the f mistake and deleted my kaios account now I can;t factory reset the darn phone
there is no way to do this via the settings, is there any way to do that by any combination of keys to go eg recovery mode? thanks
__UPDATE__
I managed to solve this, seriously this is bit crap , both from NOKIA and KaiosTech
to exlain:
If you -by- mistake delete your Kaiostech account (antitheft) there is no F way to remove this account from the phone. I am dead serious, the phone asks to confirm the pass to sign out but as it can't find the account no friggin way to sign out, its a f catch-22 !!to make the things worst , the "reset" phone option does not work either as it needs the kaiostech account pass to continue , ok LOLz
well what finally saved my ass was the friggin kaios emulator, I just created the same account on the kaiostech (via the emulator) , one thing to remember is : if you do a lot of wrong logins then your account will be frozen for 15-20 min , also there is time (about 30?min) to wait till you create the same account there. at least this is the best solution, as the crackheads tech (chat) at nokia suggested me to return the phone for repair (screw kaios + nokia both), anyway there should be any combination to go to the recovery mode (perhaps via usb?) just if anyone knows how to do that please feel free to share your knowledge.
cheers
What is the best/most secure place to purchase a Nokia 800 Tough from in the Us? I canβt seem to find any reputable shops that stock it, EBay all seem to ship from Eastern Europe, and the one listing on Amazon has pretty terrible service reviews.
From last night to today, using the phone normally, the keyboard does not register the button 5, just pressing very hard... I only have the phone for 1 month, never dropped, now one of the keys, the number 5 it's not working properly.
Anybody got some tips? I fear that if I stripped the phone just to fix this will affect the sealing for water and dust...
As the title suggests, which one should I get? Also if you've any experience, which battery life is best?
Loving the hardware of the phone. On the software side some apps were easy to remove while others not so easy. Is there any way to remove Google Assistant and game trials?
Without reflashing that is.
Hi
i've had this phone for 5 months and found that Kaios is not very efficient... the keyboard sometimes is laggy the contacts are extremely slow, the OS overall feels like an unfinished software.
Yesterday I performed a factory reset to the phone (again) and realized that it is "stuck" with Kaios 12.00.17.01 and I cannot update the firmware.
Can someone help me with this issue? I dont want to go back to a touchscreen and I really wanted to make this phone work for me... maybe the update will fix some of kaios problems
Thanks
Hi,
Does anyone have the Nokia 800 Tough phone? and does it have the same keyboard deficiencies around capitalisation (especially in the middle of sentences for names etc) as the Nokia 8110 4g? (Outlined below from my angry email to KaiOS Support)
Why is typing so unintuitive under KaiOS compared to symbian from nearly 20 years ago? For example to type on a Nokia 2100 from 2003 I was able to use a single tap of the # key as a shift, to capitalise letters, if I tapped it more than once I would then cycle through modes T9, lower case manual, all caps manual, Auto capitalizing manual, auto capitalizing T9. With the 8110 To capitalise a letter in the middle of the sentence takes six or seven button presses. If I'm in Abc mode (auto capitalizing) that is, to type "Hello Geoff" to capitalise the G takes the following: Period, space, (Auto Capital) G, back arrow, backspace, backspace, forward arrow (continue typing the rest of the word) OR # (Lower case), # Upper case, G, # number mode, # predictive mode, # (Auto capitalizing mode) That's 6 or 7 button presses just to make a single letter uppercase. Please add a single tap of # to act as a kind of shift for both predictive mode and all other input modes. This is coming from someone who's used the 8110 as a daily driver for about a year I keep leaving the platform and returning to my Android phone because typing, something so fundamental is so painful for someone who writes many text messages. How can we get something as simple as text entry so wrong after having it so right nearly 20 years ago?
Hello there, im gonna dig straight into to the topic, i hate charging my phone and my phone getting out of charge unexpectedly. So i decided to find the phone with the most amount of battery time.
I don't speak much, like 20 minutes a week at max. I do everything to save the battery, no vibrations, minimum screen brightness, etc. All im going to do is listen music and maybe use bluetooth for my headphone (if it matters too much i don't have to use bluetooth, im fine with cables) checked both phones sites and other sites reviews. The reviews shows nokia has better battery life however cat has bigger battery and is a older phone thus the reviews are probably aimed for an older kaios version thus its battery life might got longer with updates.
Nokia doubles the price just for the name so if they aren't that different i want to go with cat (+ nokia looks quite ugly compared to cat i have to say)
So what do you say? Did you used any one of these? What is the battery time you experienced? Do they matter alot? Which one is better? Is there another phone you want to suggest?
I don't know what did I do, but my nokia 800 tough suddenly locked. I did not find key combination for recovery mode in internet, looks like it wasn't found yet or doesn't exist at all.
I have "bug" icon on screen, and ADB was working before the lock, now "adb devices" shows nothing.
Is there any ways to unbrick it?
Hi. I experience from time to time (more less at least once a day atm) that I cannot receive or make calls. If I put the phone in flight mode and out of flight mode or restart the phone does it work again. Until it stops working. I get not notification what so ever, other if people tell me that they cannot call me or I cannot make calls.
Anyone else have experienced something like this, or know how to fix it?
Hey guys, I can't figure out how to add outlook to my email options to my nokia 800 tough. It has Google and something called ActiveSync by default. Help pleeeeeeeease
I have obtained the system partion from a working phone. I would like to restore that to my phone. I have tried using the the file from here: https://sites.google.com/view/bananahackers/backup/repair-all#h.p_P8_O1ON35T05 together with the system.img that I got.
However it tells me that it cannot verify package. Do the 8110 and 800 use different certificates when doing these updates?
Does anyone know why the Nokia 800 does not support whatsapp web?
It has a camera capable enough to recognize QR-codes and the phone can connect to the internet multiple ways so sounds to me like it should support it or is something else holding it back?
I have an issue where sometimes some buttons will register more than once. Usually two times. Anyone else? Or someone with a fix?
hello there,
some of our colleagues need a longer notification sound for incoming alert SMS.
is there any way to add a custom notification sound or loop play a existing one? i can't find anything related.
thanks in advance.
Hello,
Just got my Nokia 800 Tough yesterday. I saw online that I should be able to long-press the main button in order to bring up Google Assistant, but this doesn't seem to work. I also haven't figured out how to turn on voice-to-text typing in SMS. Anyone have any tips?
Thanks!
The new Nokia 800 Tough is out and according to nokia, very tough. I would love to see Mark test it. You too?
Sup Schmucks,
I'm just here to peddle my ideas with almost no research and we're gonna make all the tendies.
Nokia $7 Jan 2023 calls are like actually a dollar and change. Loooooad up as this is the way.
My DD is basically they get all that huawei telecom money, labtops in india i think or mayb the was BB, Finland seems quality, and they make good phones.
TLDR NOK $7 2023 call cheap enough for us to afford lots of them. Gamma and IV are also low low low so they're again cheap af
When should I expect KaiOS 3.0?
in the descriptions of some website i only can read kaiOS
is it 3.0?
As the title suggests, which one should I get? Also if you've any experience, which battery life is best?
Anyway to get the Nokia 800 tough in the united states?
