A list of puns related to "Nick Cave"
Well, Iβm not a native speaker and Iβm also pretty bad talking about what I like so sorry if I am a bit hard to understand. I love nostalgic songs like Where Do We Go Now But Nowhere, Brampton Oratory (I really love this one, it makes me feel deeply melancholic), Suzanne, Jim Cain, Hurt and I Hung My Head. Beyond the authors I mentioned in the title I also love songs like Last Kiss from Pearl Jam, As the World Caves In by Mike Maltese and Perfect Day by Lou Reed and Blue In Green by Miles Davis. I like their nostalgic those and the intimacy they transmit. Also I love how they build a narrative and the lyricism of the songs. Iβm not sure about how to express it with words so here it is my favorites playlist:

It isnβt very big so I would be really grateful if you could help me filling it with similar songs. Thank you and take care.
Its quite fascinating considering they have practically half a century of a music career.
Nick Cave's music could be as provocative as Bob Dylan, as cutting edge as Lou Reed, as melodic and orchestral as David Bowie.
Iggy Pop, being known for his Stooges role as a young stage persona and his few songs from the 70s never really gets much credit for his artistic collaborations in the 90s and 21st century. The man worked with so many French artists, novelists, etc...
Nick Cave, likewise such a unique and independent artist, doesnt really get much credit for his more experimental work.
Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Elton John, David Bowie are highly revered although Bob Dylan is often more romanticized for who he was in the sixties. His career declines in the late 70s and he never really bothered to become so admired in his later years, unlike Elton John, McCartney, and Bowie.
Nick Cave cannot be said to be of that generation, yet with such an old career now, its surprising he doesnt get much attention.
Iggy Pop, catching the tail end of the sixties, managed to get a good fan base but never really developed into a major icon like Billy Joel or Bowie.
Wow. One of those countless bands I have heard of and always wanted to check out, but never have for whatever reason. I've been using this website lately that recommends a different album every day and today it recommended Murder Ballads. It doesn't happen often, but this is one of those "how have I not listened to this before" moments. I've just looked at how much music they have out and I'm excited to jump in.
edit: a few people have asked, you can find the website I use for daily album recommendations over on r/1001AlbumsGenerator. Highly recommended if you're getting a bit bored with your usual bubble of go-to artists as I was.
This is a band Iβve wanted to get into for a while but Iβm not sure where to start. The only songs that I know are βRed Right Handβ and βJack the Ripperβ. Any specific recommendations?
You can include Bad Seeds, Grinderman, and Birthday Party songs. Iβm a new fan, whatβs your top 10? You donβt have to rank them.
I am from Hull in the UK and I have only just noticed that Nick mentions Hull in βThere She Goes My Beautiful Worldβ
βWhile Philip Larkin stuck it out In a library in Hullβ
Most people outside of the UK have never even heard of Hull so I was chuffed to bits when I noticed he mentioned my home city. Especially as this is one of my favourite tracks.
Anybody knows how he records his albums? Some similar musicians like Tom Waits record live in studio, with all the musicians playing at the same time, does Nick do this too? Or is it the modern way of track by track to a click?
I'll submit: Up Jumped the Devil, Red Right Hand and Stagger Lee. I'm just sitting around playing bass today and hoped to find some material to work on. Thanks folks!
There is a famous, hilarious quote from Nick Cave talking about the RHCP.
βIβm forever near a stereo saying, βWhat the fuck is this garbage?β And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers.ββ
"The Guardian" quoted him on it in 2006, claiming he said this 2 years ago. Does anyone know where he said this? I couldn't find the orgin of this.
https://youtu.be/_fhOUfxIvgY
Came across this band called Tropical F*ck Storm on Spotify, and I thoroughly recommend, especially for Bad Seeds fans.
Iβd love to hear your recommendations as well, particularly for lesser known bands. rubber bullies
Does anybody know what Nick Cave's singing style is? or just signature stuff he does to make himself sound good.
I've never really been much of fan of the stuff he's put out solo/with The Bad Seeds BUT, I do really like The Birthday Party & Grinderman a lot. I'm trying to square this liking with all of the stuff he's done in between. I wholeheartedly appreciate him as an artist and have a lot of respect for him.
Can you recommend any other albums I might like based on the above? Manic, energetic rather than dark, piano ballads.
I'll be shipping from South Jersey. Will only ship to US . $5 per record shipping, although for any order of $100 and up I'd strongly prefer to insure the package for an additional $2/$100 value... if the buyer agrees . Feel free to make an offer on anything. Pictures available upon request. Anything with a strikethrough is sold. Thanks for looking!

However, where he shines like gold is in his piano writing. The simple, slow arpeggios in songs like As I Sat Sadly by Her Side, Jubilee Street, and Idiot Prayer (not really arpeggios here, but still) are earworm food if I've ever heard of such a thing. Damn... they just sink their catchy (but not cheesy) hooks into you and don't let go.
The only other artist/band that comes to mind when I think 'melody' is Pain of Salvation. Daniel and those guys can write a damn fine piece of music.
Am newly interested in exploring Nick Caveβs music. Where do I start? Appreciate your recommendations.
The Carnage Packages are insanely expensive (I think I saw $350+) for seats and a signed poster. This, opposed to just a few years ago you could get a front row seat to see him at one of these venues for around $150. And most of the items on Cave Things, frankly, are overpriced crap. It's weird that he's seemed so more honest and vulnerable through the Red Hand Files, but has also raised the bar -- almost outrageously so -- financially for so many seeking out either his live shows or memorabilia.

Nick Cave and Justin Timberlake released their debut albums 18 years apart in 1984 and 2002 respectively . How would Nick Cave's career have transpired if the Neptunes and Timbaland had worked with him instead of Timberlake?
The late 20th-early 21st centuries was sort of the beginning of the end for the second boy band era.
Nick Cave and Justin Timberlake were both the "biggest" members of their respective boy bands, so it made sense that both would venture out on their own.
Needless to say, Justin Timberlake's jump into solo music was much more successful than Caveβs. Timberlake's Justified sold 439,000 records in its first week, compared to Caveβs debut (can you remember the title?) which sold [citation needed].
Timberlake went big, aiming for an edgier hip hop-R&B sound, with help from top notch producers like The Neptunes, Timbaland and Scott Storch. Nick Cave played it safe, working with a familiar sound palette, including contributions from Bad Seeds production regulars Flood, Mick Harvey, and Blixa Bargeld.
How would Nick Caveβs career have transpired if the Neptunes and Timbaland had worked with him instead of Timberlake? Would Timberlake's popular appeal and showmanship alone been enough to propel him to the top of male solo artists? Or was JT's success largely a product of his collaborations and ear for popular sounds?
