A list of puns related to "Nhl Rules"
Inspired by the post in r/AskUK
According to Section 10 Rule 84.2 If a Goalie is pulled during ot with the exception of a delayed penalty and they concede a goal while the Goalie is pulled the extra point for overtime will be forfeited https://imgur.com/a/8upxqPh
I decided to test this in NHL 22 Franchise mode to which I still got a point from the match for losing in overtime, I didn't expect EA to have included this rule but its disappointing that it isn't
feel free to test the rule for your self in game.
For example would he allow the offense to have a receiver start in the end zone during OT on the first play for both teams? Would he say the goalie has 5 seconds to get off the ice in a pull the goalie situation or itβs a penalty?
So part of getting the Hulu/ESPN/Disney + package is having access to all those random articles that are normally paywalled on ESPN.com and one of those articles caught my attention today. Im not going to post a link since its walled off but there's a fragment of it that I thinks worth noting. This is a paragraph the article quotes from the NHL rulebook:
"A team shall be allowed to pull its goalkeeper in favor of an additional skater in the overtime period. However, should that team lose the game during the time in which the goalkeeper has been removed, it would forfeit the automatic point gained in the tie at the end of regulation play, except if the goalkeeper has been removed at the call of a delayed penalty against the other team."
The article mentions that Sergei Fedorov, as head coach of CSKA Moscow in the KHL, has started doing this regularly and is winning with the strategy. The article doesn't state if that point forfeiture is the same but I feel it implies that it isn't the same as the NHL and a team still earns the standings point.
How would you feel if the Ducks or any other team adopted this as a regular season OT strategy? Given that we seem to be towards the league leaders in OTLs most years it certainly couldn't hurt.
This morning the Redwings recalled Luke Witkowski from the AHL, however, it was announced that he was suspended for 2 games for charging in the AHL (with the second missed game being on the 10th of this month)
I was curious if there was any rule set anywhere saying that the suspension actually includes not being able to play in the NHL until the suspension has been served for the AHL games. But, guessing because the wings recalled him, there is not.
LFG another shutout baby
2 line pass? i mean, that was a pretty dumb one if you ask me. really killed any momentum of a breakaway
trapezoid? you're really gonna make a rule because of one guy, i still wish it would go away.
ice size? every other country uses the international/olympic rink size right? did they change this recently i can't remember.
maybe i'm forgetting some. what do y'all think?
Iβve always thought having the loaning system from European soccer would be really cool in hockey. Contending teams could loan young talent to other NHL teams to get experience. You could also loan disgruntled players for a year and see if anything changes when they return.
What are you implementing?
If you read the Official Rule @ NHL.com it seems like they shouldn't exist. Could someone with more insight enlighten me, as I'm a fairly new fan of the NHL
EDIT: Glass != Boards as far as rules as written, which I understand. Unfortunate an accident was caused by one to my (limited) knowledge
Now that the NHL has returned we're seeing an increase in traffic, here's some reminders to help enjoy the sub.
