Tesla's (TSLA) Model Y and Model 3 electric cars are being investigated by Canada's transportation regulator over potentially faulty heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, according to media reports. Transport Canada has received at least 16 complaints regarding cars' heat pumps, triggering concerns that the vehicles may not be able to defog the windshield, InsideEVs reported Friday. Tesla is aware of the issue, InsideEVs reported, but it refused to respond to a request for comment, Reuters reported.

The US Air Force is in the process of creating its Next Generation Air Dominance fighter, or "NGAD." This would be the first sixth-generation fighter, and it's expected to come into service in the 2030's. If you look at sketches/drawings of the NGAD, it's always depicted as having no vertical stabilizers or very small ones. Vertical stabilizers enhance maneuverability, but make a plane less stealthy. I have two questions about this.
(1) What exactly is the challenge of making a fighter jet that has no vertical stabilizers? How important are vertical stabilizers when it comes to make a plane fast and maneuverable? If the NGAD has no vertical stabilizers and manages to have the maneuverability of the F-22, would that have been unthinkable 20-30 years ago, or was this always the expected course of events?
(2) To what extent would getting rid of vertical stabilizers enhance a fighter's stealth? Would this go very far in reducing a jet's RCS, or would it only make a marginal difference?
