ALL HAIL THE CAR GOD
Hi Guys,
I have to do an assignment where I need to use Newey-West errors when there is no serial correlation. I can write the monte carlo simulation and get the results but the problem is don't actually know what to expect.
So when using Newey-West with no serial correlation, what should I expect to happen? Especially how it effects consistency and efficiency etc?
Thanks.
Hi Guys, sorry of this is the wrong place to ask, but I asked on r/econometrics but got no response so thought I'd ask here.
I ran a simulation where I had to test Newey-West errors when there was no serial correlation. It seemed that as I increased the lags, the efficiency got worse and rejection rates increased.
I don't understand why it increased when I added more lags?
Can somebody please help me out?
Thanks.
I recently got two internship offers from two different companies one for field engineer and the other assistant estimator. My dilemma is that I donβt know which to pick. I have little experience in construction and I want to gain as much as I can but I donβt know what to pick. I was hoping yβall could give me advice on what to do. Thanks!
PRI will be available again on Jan 6th but by REQUEST ONLY. I am only allowing people to take it if they have not taken it before, and one attempt only. This is to conserve credits, as the tests have not yet been automated. If you haven't taken it and want to, send me a message and at some point I will send you a password protected link for a single attempt.
Hey everyone,
https://pdfhost.io/v/vXxFHNDV5_CAIT_Copy
**Please only take the PRI section on classmarker once please.
CAIT will be back online again in the next few hours. The VCI subtests have been automated thanks to MelerEcckmanLawler and can be taken at any time. Please only use the classmarker links for the PRI section or if you've taken the WAIS before and want to submit your results for data collection.
As part of the update, the norms and data reports have been updated based on the analysis of the data from the last round of testing.
If you have questions about the test please read the intro/FAQ before sending me a message.
Thanks!
Edit: For those interested, I am also looking at testing another CAIT Subtest. People that have taken the WAIS only please.
Also, I have a new high range matrices test that I would like to norm. If anyone is interested in trying it, let me know. Anyone that has taken matrices tests in the past can take it.
edit: VCI is no longer available on classmarker, as people ...do not listen to instructions. If you have WAIS scores to send me, DM me.
I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but really. There seems to be an impression here that the US is out to oust Abiy Ahmed and restore Tigrayan rule. This neither really makes sense nor fits the media narrative I have seen for over a year here.
The media narrative in the west is that it's "just another civil war in Africa again." While there is ample negative coverage of the ENDF and atrocities against Tigrayan civilians, there is little to no positive coverage of the TPLF either, the way there was of, say, the 2011 Libyan rebellion. When news came that the TPLF was near the capital, the biggest concern was that an unstable or fractured Ethiopia would be a headache for western geopolitical interests that use Ethiopia to enforce stability in the Horn of Africa. When Human Rights Watch publicized Tigrayan atrocities in the amhara region, everyone here was like "Omg how dare they." (Only our forces and proxies are allowed to commit atrocities! /s )
There isn't some convoluted game of 3d chess here, just kneejerk reactions. Don't condemn the west for secretly backing one side or the other. Condemn the west for its superficial both-sideism attitude towards human rights when it doesn't have a vested interest in either combatant.
Me? I root for the ENDF, because even though I don't have that high an opinion of Abiy's management of the buildup to the war and the war itself, I still want a united Ethiopia, which I doubt the TPLF could maintain given the context.
Hey all,
Iβm looking to negotiate with my employer about a pay increase. But I donβt really know how much I should ask for. Iβm currently at $18/hr and my employer mentioned to me that I could be making a lot more. I work for a high end residential window company and Iβve pumping out bids like crazy and they are impressed. Problem is, I live in Southern California and cost of living is way to high for that pay. Now I see the numbers and I know for a fact they are making good money. Im aware Iβm only inputting dimensions into a software but there is more involved including change orders and getting the estimate correct so the cad department can develop accurate shop drawings. As well as configurations of sliders, etc. I have about 2 and 1/2 years experience in estimating in general. Iβm in the office reading plans and generating proposals. What do you guys think? The proposals are usually in the range of 150,000 to 1million. What are your guys thoughts?
I am in the midst of a bit of a nightmare scenario while trying to achieve Delta Status leading into 2022. Iβve been eyeballing my MQS & MQD totals much of this year. Iβve never reached Medallion status before, but I felt it would be helpful for work travel next year, and I had plans to make a special trip to put me over the finish line if I came close. Leading into December, I had reached the 30 MQS I needed, but I was still well short of the MQDβs. Still, even though I couldnβt really justify the time and money for a special trip I decided to visit a friend in the Dallas area to put me over the top.
It was difficult finding the right package with all the weird bonus multipliers, but I finally found a flight out of Jacksonville, FL (much further from my house than my usually starting airports) that would ultimately land in DFW with two segments each way. I had to fly a higher level of comfort than I would usually invest in, but I cashed in 47,000 miles, plus some cash, to make it happen because the Delta MQD estimator said I would bring in 1107 miles. Since I only needed 1031, I felt like this was well within the margin of error for the estimate. I was so excited to finally reach this goal!
After the first half of the trip, I received less MQDs than I expected, but the second part of the trip cost more miles, so I assumed it would put me over the finish line. When the return flights finally logged, I was devastated to find I had only been credited with 980 qualifying miles. 51 short of my needs, and 127 short of their estimate. Honestly, I felt deceived and cheated.
As upset as I was, I assumed this would be a no-brainer for customer service. It wouldnβt cost them anything, and I had done my due diligence to reach my goal. After all, it was their math that said I would do enough if I booked that ticket. That was before I spent hours messaging with two different Delta support reps for over three hours total. I ran out of time before the first rep could escalate me to a specialist, but the second rep told me with β100%β certainty there was nothing they could do and no one they could advance me to that could help. To make things more frustrating and confusing, the second rep suggested I could buy the last few MQDβs, a service I had to point out to her has been suspended this year (besides being extraordinarily expensive.) She also told me they had extended the qualification window through January, but the Delta program qualifications website clearly s
