A list of puns related to "Newcastle City Hall"
I wanted to share with everyone an upcoming event I am running at Newcastle City Hall. Its a great outing for all ages.
"Newcastle Pro Wrestling brings its world class, explosive action to back Newcastle City Hall for “Brawl at City Hall 2022” on Friday, March 11th.
Featuring a Middleweight Championship Match one year in the making, International Wrestling Star Robbie Eagles, Tag Team bouts, Womens wrestling and much more, “Brawl at City Hall 2022” turns our town on its head again as Professional Wrestling returns to the Newcastle City Hall."

While the last two shows have a real kick and energy about them, I think it’s here, the third Dead show in England of the ‘72 tour, where the band feels the most cemented and tuned-in at all times. While there are some weird eccentricities of the April 8th show that leave me possibly preferring it by just a mere margin, this is perhaps the most essential show of the three initial English shows of the tour overall. For one, the sound quality of the official releases is insane, especially early in the first half. “Deal” here is the crispest I've ever heard Phil’s bass, even in studio recordings, and it follows an incredible “Greatest Story Ever Told” opening where everyone sounds clear, present and alive as they must’ve that very night. “Big Boss Man” sounds like a studio recording and begins a stretch of definitive Pigpen performances through the night - more on that later. The first set carries a real bite and snarl with it, which I love. “Black-Throated Wind”, “Looks Like Rain”, “Brown-Eyed Women”, and “China>Rider” all have a sort of desperate howl to themselves here that really stands out considering how tender and warm some of those songs typically come out. The soul is in full effect here, and nowhere more clearly than on the obvious Set 1 highlight, “Playing In The Band”. This performance oozes power, love and energy, one of my favorites so far, right up there with Aug. 27, ‘72. Really incredible first set overall, but I think Pigpen pretty immediately wipes the audience and setlist collectively off their asses right at the start of Set 2.
“Good Lovin’” here dips between Beach Boys and Jim Morrison, and the tangible zing and groove through this entire performance is kindled by the roaring energy of its master. Pigpen roars through incredible vocal improv over and over, much like “The End” would often be done live by 1970-era The Doors. Psyched-out beach day trip gone horribly, perversely wrong. I’ve finally come around on “Ramble On Rose”, and this is easily the best one I’ve heard so far. Such a pocket from the rhythm section that gives this version a real punch. Then there’s the long Set 2 jam. Solid “Truckin’” to kick things off, but once it gets from the main song into the jam, things really kick off, Bill and Jerry bring things into an EXPLOSIVE energy around six minutes in. Phil’s bass whirls like helicopter blades at one point and it’s super cool. Once they get back into the chorus, Keith gets this real ragtime feel in his playing that jus

This was, along with their incendiary performance on the Red Wedge tour, the best time I saw the Smiths. The tour was to promote their second album “Meat Is Murder”, and this time they called at Newcastle City Hall. The venue was pretty full, but I don’t think it was sold out. Support came from fellow Manchurians James, who were being touted as the “next big thing”. The Smiths came onstage to the music of Prokofiev’s “Romeo And Juliet” which was played at very high volume and accompanied by flashing strobe lights. The performance also used video of animals being slaughtered during “Meat Is Murder”. I had a seat close to the stage, and was surrounded by fans going completely crazy; fans were climbing over each other to get close to Morrissey and the first three rows of seats collapse under the scrum. as people had been clambering over the chairs to get closer to their hero. At one point in the concert Morrissey threw his shirt out into the audience; it landed quite close to me, but I had no chance of getting hold of it, a few guys started fighting over it; the shirt was torn to shreds. Morrissey was encouraging fans to come down to the front. The http://www.johnnymarrplaysguitar... site quotes him as telling the fans “Come on don’t be afraid…..Don’t be afraid of the bouncers, they’re outnumbered”. “Shakespeare’s Sister” had just been released, and was introduced as their new single. I remember watching Johnny Marr, and realising that night just how incredible a guitarist he was. A great gig from a band who at the time seemed to be unstoppable. Sadly two years later it would be all over.
The tour programme featured pools winner Viv Nicholson on the front cover (see picture). Morrissey had become fascinated by Viv, who had famously won the pools and went ahead to “Spend, Spend, Spend” it all, squandering the money on cars and high living, until she was eventually declared bankrupt.
Setlist:
William, It Was Really Nothing; Nowhere Fast; I Want The One I Can’t Have; What She Said; Hand In Glove; How Soon Is Now?; Stretch Out And Wait; That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore; Shakespeare’s Sister; Rusholme Ruffians; The Headmaster Ritual; Still Ill; Handsome Devil; Meat Is Murder

Did lots of those players thought they were about to join United during the signing process?
