I could go on for hours about the shit that goes on here, so here's truly the shortest version I can give: This customer service job is 10 times more intense than they told me when I was hired. It's three jobs in one and I've already had a breakdown after I was sleep-deprived and hallucinating from stress. (They were surprised when I wanted more than one day off to recover.) Our customers...let me tell you, we get verbal abuse like I have never experienced in my years of working in social media and CS jobs. Our bosses do not defend us and often reward them for treating us like dogshit by giving them what they want, so it never ends.
I've talked with my boss about it, but she's worked her way up for a few years (aka, everyone else quit or got fired), so she pivots to how it's been so0o0o much worse and how she's having health problems due to the stress. She empathizes, but nothing changes. She's a really nice person, but she's inexperienced and they don't give her resources she needs. Most recently, she began questioning us about our answers on "anonymous" surveys and tries to justify the companies' unethical actions by telling us how to keep notes on our lies so we can keep them straight with customers. The new guy quit in less than a month. Just like, straight up ghosted and mailed back his laptop.
They're so sketchy about PTO/OT. PTO often frozen or we're guilted for taking any, so I lost the entire summer to being over-worked and emotionally-drained. We're also expected to get about 10-12 hours of worth done a day with less than an hour of OT a week. It has made me feel suicidal on a few occasions. My therapist wants me out ASAP and while I'm aggressively job hunting, I can only seem to get interviews for CS jobs that pay unlivable wages. After this job, I am DONE with CS. I have a lot of other interests and skills that I am just wasting. Life is too short for this shit.
There are jobs open in the marketing department, ones I very much qualify for from my pre-COVID jobs. My boss won't even give me a couple hours a week to shadow them and see if it's a fit. I have the 2nd highest scores and customers love me, so it feels like they'll never let me leave CS.

Iโm an ID specialist in a SAAS organization. Before I joined, they used Google drive to share content. Trainings meant iLT, PPT and webinar videos to watch.
My first task was to implement an LMS. Through online research, discovery calls and trial periods we chose Docebo. Next task was to create elearnings for onboarding. Of course this is for foundational knowledge. (I suggested no changes to the new hires shadowing sessions/ vILT that followed.)
SME involvement was pretty low. I had to scramble for resources. Since this was a new initiative we had a few employees from different dept and experience, review the content. Once the program was launched, the feedback came in from the learners. The quizzes had a some incorrect answers marked, the Software was updated so there were slight changes to the UI in the images and video. Who does everyone point out? The ID for not using updated material and not the SMEs for not providing it. But after the first 2-3 batches, the issues were ironed out based on the feedback.
Being a SAAS company, content regularly changes. For new content creation, I receive hardly any help from the SMEs. Theyโve straight out ignored my requests, refuse to answer my question in meetings... Iโve been following up for close to 3 months on a topic with 4-5 SMEs. One of them also in charge of training just shared all the decks and simply wanted me to upload on the platform. I told they can do it themself through coach and share. 80% of the work I do is with this team.
There is still 20% of the work I do with other departments. The SMEs are quite helpful. They share the material and review the content I create and provide feedback. They acknowledge that the training is impactful. Besides this, Iโm also act as an LMS admin to an extent.
To top it off, each dept seems to have its own playbook and internal training. So they just want to use the LMS for onboarding new hires? Is this common? My manager says they do this cause they want to have more control over their content.
I feel so invisible in this company and they donโt give a ratโs ass about the work I do. My manager (director-level but not in charge of learning per se) is very supportive but Iโve raised this lack of collaboration issue for sometime now to the point where he thinks Iโm whiny. I'm hoping that today, I spoke with someone who actually knew what she was talking about. Someone who was taught how the schedule actually works, or at the very least has been paying attention and spotted the pattern.
The most interesting thing about the call was how she counted 10 weeks. She said "I would expect to see something within the next few days because this Friday marks 10 weeks." She explained that because my accepted date (2/17) was in the middle of the week, that week doesn't count at all. The next Friday (2/26) is where she started counting (at 0). The next Friday (3/5) was 1 week. 3/12 was 2 weeks. 5/7 is 10 weeks.
She was able to give me information about the last time I called. So, for those wondering, yes, they probably have records of your poor attitude & the fact that you're calling 100 times a day.
The rep told me that in addition to my 10 weeks actually being up this Friday, I have moved to a 2nd errors department. The last time I called I had multiple errors and was in a "higher tier of errors".
She confirmed what many of us assumed. Errors doesn't actually mean error. It just means there's something on my return that made it harder to digitally confirm my refund amount. She listed earned income, tax rebate credits, unemployment, and AGI lookback.
Added info: I had WMR bars in February. Lost bars and stuck on Topic 152 since the beginning of March. Sometimes WMR will say my info is incorrect. Transcripts still say no return received. Earned income for 2 children and AGI lookback affect me. No "line 30" issue. And TurboTax will be taking their money from my bank account tomorrow because I've hit the "pay with refund" deadline.

I did some AMAs a few months ago while it was still being developed and the feedback I got was extremely valuable to the process. A few things have evolved since then - at the time there was no energy-compensation in the dose calculation, but as time went on I learned that this was a really necessary feature, so I added it on. The screen is also bigger with a far richer range of display options. Some other smaller things changed as well but the basic idea is the same.
