A list of puns related to "Neo Contra"
I'm a big fan of Contra 3 and had never played Cyber-Lip until today. I was surprised to see Cyber-Lip came out nearly 2 years before Contra 3.
I may not be remembering correctly, but I recall seeing a game like this in the Target bargain bin. It had 2 female characters, coop, different types of weapons though it may have been a bullet hell type game, but I think it was more like Contra Neo. Anyone know what Iβm talking about, and if so, if it was any good?
so epic! this has a lot of potential! the trailer doesnt do it justice. I say they should give it a Shattered Soldier soundtrack, though maybe the ingame music could be on par with Neo Contra.
people shouldnt diss the graphics, look at all the action going on! Smash TV would beg for a game looking like this! the dual stick control is fitting for it too! and I see Contra authentic spin jumps too!

though yea they should give it a hardcore soundtrack like Shattered Soldier, it would really help the atmosphere. also the anniversary collection is out, can help the wait for this upcoming masterpiece!
Is Neo Contra the worst Contra game? It's not even close to a contender now that we've got Contra Rogue Corps out!

Context: I'm a 27 year old trans woman, and I consider myself to be pretty down to earth. I.e. Decent career, a 9 year stable relationship, chill vibes. DGGer for probably 5+ years. Going to go point by point and add perspective:
>Both: "Is there utility in calling 'trans women' 'women'?"
I completely agree with Destiny's POV (that ContraPoints originally popularized) that the phrase is reductive, especially as there are unique, important experiences that happen to trans vs cis people.
But, it is useful as a response to the right wing narrative that "trans women are just men".
As for utility? It's cheesy as hell, but the only thing I can say is that 'being accepted as a woman' is being accepted for 'who I am'.
Destiny tried to allude to this "underlying fact of the matter" later in the vid by taking about sexual preference. Another example is if you woke up tomorrow and everyone in your life insisted on calling you by another name. E.g. "Simon". New ID card, employer and family say it. It's uncomfortable at an 'identity' level, hard to explain.
"No, your name is Simon, stop with this silly nonsense." has weird vibes.
>Destiny: *talks about trans not being an "illness"*
This is absolutely correct. Noice.
>MrGirl: "We define mental illness as when you're acting in a way that the rest of us doesn't like."
Pushback: I think it's more to do with if is impeding your own wellbeing or violating other peoples rights. MrGirl conceded this with:
>"If being an asshole gets you divorced, fired and homeless."
>MrGirl: The narrative that sexuality is immutable isn't quite true.
The important point here is: A persons sexuality may change over time, but this doesn't mean that conversion therapy works, nor does it mean that calling homosexuality an illness is justifiable.
>MrGirl: "And trans people are co-opting this idea [i.e. that trans identity is like homosexuality]."
I do think there is a good parallel between sexuality and gender identity. (TW) When I was seventeen and suicidal I would have chosen to be cis if I could have, as I know my gay friends who struggled with depression would have chosen to be straight. Gender identity isn't something I can choose. Your sexuality isn't your choice. Thus, the useful analogy exists.
>MrGirl: "Trans women want to be trans."
Nooooooooo.

Some may know that Subboor Ahmad has hosted the young earth creationist Paul Nelson on his YouTube channel to debunk the science of common ancestry. For lengthy demonstrations of how Paul Nelson gets everything wrong (while misrepresenting every scientist he quotes like Eugene Koonin in the process), see here, here, here, and here. In these videos, Subboor had a bit of a concerning and quite ready tendency to accept literally any gibberish that Paul Nelson was spewing. In this post, I'll focus more specifically on how Subboor justifies his pseudoscientific creationism.
As a bit of background. Subboor is a Muslim creationist and apologist who has no clear expertise on the subject. Despite claiming to be a pursuing a philosophy of biology PhD at Birkbeck College (though he seems to have been pursuing it for quite a while now), he's been at this for many many years without ever getting anything he's said published anywhere reputable. So he just puts it out on YouTube and his blog. In a debate he handily lost against James Fodor at the timestamp 1:34:00+, he was asked to name a single scientific discovery / finding that would convince him that his creationism is wrong. He admitted he couldn't think of anything, and that the only way he'd accept evolution is if he literally first became an atheist. In other words, Subboor is rather open about the fact that there is no evidence that could compel him out of his dogma. Here, I'm debunking his blog post "Darwinβs biggest critics are evolutionary biologists".
https://subboorahmad.com/darwins-biggest-critics-are-evolutionary-biologists/
Subboor tries to show that the academic and public understanding of evolution is different, that real specialists think evolution is "just a theory" resting on baseless assumptions. But if that

You should probably avoid loading all of these onto a device. This will likely create analysis paralysis and you'll switch from game to game constantly. Not everyone is like this, but many are.
Tell me which are the worst games on the list? This list is for S-tier! This list is (almost) only for definitive editions!
Feel free to contribute games from systems I have not listed.
Which Tetris games should I remove?
Note: platformers generally do not meet the qualifications. If you know of one that is a special exception, please tell me! I think Kid Dracula works because it's very simple and you can complete sections of the game in a very short time.
I'm skipping everything newer than the PS1 except the GBA.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
People probably watch the show and wonder about why the priest from el Salvador, or Father Andrei, would support the USSR and the KGB, when the USSR was not just officially atheist but anticlerical and oppressive to religion. People may further wonder about why Pastor Tim doesnt turn the Jennings in--and while the answer could be that he cares about Paige too much or fears the KGB, I think that the US doctrine in latin america and Liberation Theology have a lot to do with it.
I had a long post typed up but not saved, with many citations, about everything the US did domestically and in foreign third world nations to oppress and kill leftists and minorities. It included the insanely cold blooded drugging and extrajudicial killing of fred hampton, harassment and attempted blackmailing of MLK, and Operation Condor + Iran contra and every atrocity supported in Latin america. I swear I'm not making excuses but it was really long and full of citations but my phone died and I lost all of it, and I'm fairly tired (have a chronic illness and recent surgeries).
So instead of redoing that entire post I'll do a shorter post on a few of the specific actions the US was doing in Latin America before and during the period of the show The americans.
Oscar Romero was mentioned by the El Salvadoran priest that accompanied the Jennings to talk with Pastor Tim about what good they may do worldwide to try and prevent pastor tim from turning them in.
Romero was a proponent of liberation theology. Unlike the USSR and the GDR and the PRC, socialism in Latin America had a fairly non oppositional and even often a sympathetic and symbiotic relationship with religion, and not just some strains, but much of the catholic church. All though of course there were many arch conservative elements in the church, the latin american Liberation Theology movement combined Catholic religious and social teachings with socialism--sometimes social democratic but sometimes revolutionary marxist strains of socialism. This movement had lots of popular support and is relevant to religion and politics in latin america even to this day. But it also lead to conflict with the right wing military dictatorships that were usually US backed in the region. El Salvador and Nicaragua are two of the best examples. Oscar Romero was martyred when he was murdered by a right wing

This was their first playoff win since 1991, where they blew out the Oilers 41-14 in the Wild Card round. This is the first time the Bengals are playing in the divisional round since 1991 when they lost to the Raiders 20-10, but at the same time they ended Bo Jackson's career with a devastating hip injury. This became known as the Curse of Bo Jackson. But this year, the Bengals broke that curse once and for all. They have atoned for their sins. Now let's see how far they go.
Here's what came out the last time the Bengals won a playoff game:
