A list of puns related to "Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division"
Hi,
I am a ECE major and was offered an (civilian) engineering internship at NSWC in Crane. I was given 3 days from offer to make a decision, and I havenβt be able to get a lot of details about the position. I have to give my reply to the offer by today, so I was wondering if anyone here could any insight experiences they might have had here, or what you did or didnβt enjoy about your internship.
Thanks in advance!
Hey there, does anyone has experience as an electrical engineer in Naval Surface Warfare Dahlgren Division on any location? And, do they have student loan assistant? Also how about Masters program? And which is better Dahlgren, Va or Virginia Beach, Va? Thank you in advance
Hello!
For context, I am going to graduate at the end of the academic year with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Through my school's career fair, I applied, interviewed and got an offer at the NSWC PHD location in Cali, U.S.
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts & opinions about a career with the NSWC or maybe even NAVSEA they would like to share, as I was only able to ask the Branch Manager's thoughts during my interview.
I would have to accept this offer within the next week or so as I also am waiting on a call/email from NAVAIR Weapons Division in regards if they also want to give me an offer.
"Incorporating a vaporizing heat sink from KULR could lead to significant mass savings and ... was capable of preventing cell-to-cell propagations. ... [battery] packs assembled and tested at NSWCCD with the KULR material (the Thermal Runaway Shield or "TRS") were found to be highly effective at resisting cell-to-cell propagation when a trigger cell was externally heated to failure. Meanwhile, identical cells with identical configuration but no TRS underwent a complete cell-to-cell propagation under the same test conditions."
Conditions such as extreme heat, bumping and jostling, short circuit, constant high-demand use, or physical damage can cause a single battery cell in a multi-cell pack to fail. When this happens, the fire and heat of that single failure often trigger failure in neighboring cells. This causes a dangerous chain reaction that causes high energy fires and explosions. According to the NSWCCD report, it is these types of runaway or propagation risks that KULR's solutions are capable of preventing.
In addition to supporting the effectiveness of the KULR safety product(s) in lithium-ion battery packs, the report highlights storage alternatives to lithium-ion batteries such as solid state or lithium metal configurations.
I recently got an internship offer for Summer 2021 as a Student Trainee (Mathematics and Statistics) from NAVSEA. I believe the internship is under a program called STEM Student Employment Program (SSEP). I was just wondering if anyone has done it before? Was it helpful for your career later on? I'm a CS grad student and I feel like this internship position doesn't relate to my major whatsoever. I'm unsure if I should accept it due to the fact that it's not CS-related? The only thing that seems appealing is the security clearance which I think it doesn't matter if I try to work for private sectors later on?
I am currently going back to school as a Comp Sci major and may be getting a job at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren.
I have a previous degree, a clearance and am currently a federal employee. They are trying to see if they can get me before FY21
Has anyone here worked for/had an internship that would like to tell me about their experience? What the area is like? Do they do any technical interviews? A couple of friends I used to work with went to a job fair and got hired on the spot with just their degree and basically no interview, just talking and seeing if their personalities meshed well.

I'm a computer science major that recently had an interview for an internship position working at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia as a system safety engineer. It went well and they said they would be contacting me soon with more information on it. Has anyone here worked for/had an internship that would like to tell me about their experience?
