A list of puns related to "Nautiloid"
Is Waukeen's Rest an actual location in FR lore? North of BG is Fields of the Dead so I doubt we are north.
This more detailed map shows the area south of BG: [https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=udVgloh6&id=49DF3261B1EC302E4B7C061E0C56C5D800846EF7&thid=OIP.udVgloh6fhC9zGdMu9LCPAHaJP&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fi.pinimg.com%2f736x%2ffe%2fb0%2fd1%2ffeb0d1aa3d8544d22a8c4020221af3e2--forgotten-realms-map-baldurs-gate.jpg&cdnurl=https%3a%2f%2fth.bing.com%2fth%2fid%2fR.b9d56096887a7e10bdcc674cbbd2c23c%3frik%3d926EANjFVgweBg%26pid%3dImgRaw%26r%3d0&exph=919&expw=736&q=forgotten+realms+maps+baldur%27s+gate&simid=608018467083665760&FORM=IRPRST&ck=3AD9BDE15EB901FBE679CA9431B1BFF7&selectedIndex=4&qpvt=forgotten+realms+maps+baldur%27s+gate&ajaxhist=0&ajaxserp=0](https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=udVgloh6&id=49DF3261B1EC302E4B7C061E0C56C5D800846EF7&thid=OIP.udVgloh6fhC9zGdMu9LCPAHaJP&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fi.pinimg.com%2f736x%2ffe%2fb0%2fd1%2ffeb0d1aa3d8544d22a8c4020221af3e2--forgotten-realms-map-baldurs-gate.jpg&cdnurl=https%3a%2f%2fth.bing.com%2fth%2fid%2f

My players have ties to it (the captain is a father of one of the characters), they repaired it first time using the psi crystal, then used it as a weapon in the battle with the chardalyn dragon. Now nautiloid is seriously damaged (at less than half hit points) and the characters want to repair its hull. What would be the place to gather the materials needed?
My initial thought was planar black markets, but Iβm looking for other interesting ideas.
Nautiloid lost a lot of the intense bright purple. It looks appropriately darker. Even the flames look hellfire.
Hi all
Myself and 3 friends have started a new game of BG3 and we are finding bugs when we get to the ships helm. We can't interact with it at all to trigger the crashing cut scene and continue the story.
We tried about 3/4 different times and we couldn't get it to work for us.
Some info:
I believe each time the mindflayer commander died by demon, does it need to be alive to trigger that cut scene or does it not matter?
Lae'zel and the brain weren't with us. They wouldn't follow us and when we tried to move them around by clicking on their characters they would pop back down to just after the jump. Do they need to be present to trigger the helm interaction and the cut scene?
Or is this a completely different bug and we need to create a whole new save file?
Thanks for any help
TL;DR: I'm wondering if anyone has used Arveiaturace, the Nautiloid or any other characters in the chase. I'm thinking of inserting them as spectacle set pieces the players can see from a distance, but didn't know if I should ramp up, scale back or just avoid the idea completely.
MY PARTY'S ACTIONS: The reason I'm thinking this is to have the players' actions matter, here:
They assisted the gnome mind flayers by giving them the psi crystal.
They survived an encounter with Arveiaturace without resorting to battle. Arvi "smelled" the party's wizard and seemed interested in them.
MY IDEA: I haven't gotten to the details of this yet, but I was thinking that both could attack the chardalyn dragon from a distance, in sort of spectacle set pieces they can watch β both of them would get strong strikes against the chardalyn dragon, but then not survive the return blow. Why that way? Because the PLAYERS NEED TO KILL THE DRAGON. I ain't a deux ex machina DM. I want the players seeing how badly this chardalyn beastie can fuck up their Friday.
AM I GOING TOO FAR? It's possible that doing this would slow down the chase even more, and make it unwieldy. Or I may need those two things to make a confrontation with Auril in Ythryn more epic. Arvei keeps her lair in the Reghed Glacier, after all...
AM I HOLDING BACK? It's also possible that I'm treating this too lightly. Maybe I should get them involved directly in battle with initiative and everything. In one of the towns.
In any event, I'd love to hear how any of you involved those two in your dragon chase.
Hey guys, I haven't played BG3 yet (waiting for the full release), but at the weekend I'm running a 5th Edition D&D session aboard an illithid nautiloid ship, and I was wondering if this game has any music that would be suited to such an encounter? Is there a quest where you visit a nautiloid, and if so, which music plays? I know there was a nautiloid featured in the game's opening cinematic.
Any advice (and links) would be very much appreciated.
Here is the main theme for the Nautiloid section. Like the Main Rime piece, this combines several different pieces that can be used during the part of the adventure: Ambience, A main theme, and a battle piece. The separate pieces will be coming soon.
Thanks for checking it out.
I had read that defeating everyone at the end of the nautiloid ship had some kind of surprise/new feature but I didn't see anything different from before the patch play out. Anyone know?
*Spoilers ahead*
So I was trying to get the flaming sword and Shadowheart was down (so was my Tav) and i connected the helm thing to end the fight while we were downed and when I got to the beach my Tav had survived but Shadowheart was dead and her mysterious artifact attached to me. Kinda weird but it was intended as there is a cutscene and everything. Thought I would share in case anyone wants to try or so you can avoid it

I used him to spam the healing station while the rest of my party killed Zhalk so I could get some XP and that sword but my brain buddy died from the Cambion right as I was escaping the ship. Would he have died anyway or does the main character wash upon the shore with Us by his side still if he doesn't die on the ship?
So, my players were completing the Dark Duchess quest when of course Arveiaturace came sweeping down from the sky and asked the party one good reason why she should let them live after they snooped around her lair.
They were really smart, hadn't touched the horde, offered the treasure found in the captain's cabin as an offering to the ancient dragon. But I felt like some gold and jewels in a chest wasn't really enough to spare three humanoids' lives from an ancient dragon's POV, so I made Arveiaturace reluctant to let them all go.
That's when the player with the Escaped Prisoner secret told the dragon the rough location of the Nautiloid and that she could certainly find magical treasure way beyond what she could gain by three skinny adventurers there. Arveiaturace let them go, with the promise that if they had lied to her she would have her vengeance.
Now I am unsure on how to proceed about the ID quest: Arveiaturace's sight isn't the best, although she still has her blindsight, so she might not be able to locate the Nautiloid and kidnap the character with the secret to guide her to its exact location, or I could let it play out between the dragoness and the mind flayers without the PC's further involvement (I don't really like this option though).
Any thoughts?
Iβve been running Icewind Dale with a group of friends for several months now. After a great deal of scampering around, the players, egged on by the one who had the escaped prisoner secret, followed one of the hooks to the Nautiloid ship. Naturally, as the escaped prisoner saw the situation at the Id Ascendant, he wanted to free the Squidlings and repair the ship. I let them know the damaged state of the ship, how it was barely functional, and that the ceremorphs needed the psi crystal to power the ship and return home. The players slew the ceremorphs, with the help of Duergar (long story), and are now turning their attention to Nildar Sunblights Outpost, where they had spotted a psi crystal. Last session they slew everything in the outpost and next session they want to loot the crystal, then power the ship up. Which brings us to this problem. Iβm not sure exactly what mechanics I want the ship to have. As itβs damaged, I donβt expect it would fly far or particularly accurate, or maybe even fast. The ballistaβs would be operational, if tricky to figure out, with a few rolls. But how do I keep this from being an OP mechanic and how do I run this, without taking player agency away? And to make it fun for the players?
