Christmas has passed and we're coming up on the new year, so lets take a look at what happened in r/TrashTaste for 2021.

New Moderation

Connor reached out to us (mods of his and the Trash Taste Twitch channels) to help moderate this place mid-June. This involved us going through the past year's worth of posts and filtering them all (over 1000 of them!) It was an arduous process, to say the least.

With that and a new set of rules in place, moderation has been mostly smooth so far!

This was a great year for Trash Taste content. Here were the top three posts:

We do indeed have awards now! They still have placeholder art, but you can give them out! Using our awards gives our subreddit coins, allowing the mods to give out fancy awards ourselves, just like the Connor Seal of Approval award that Connor gave on stream.

We've got lots of flairs this year, all inside jokes from the podcast. Have you ever wondered how many people use each? Well, wonder no more! Here's the breakdown:

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

#What is happening?

Hurricane Ida made landfall in SE Louisiana on Sunday at 11:55am on Grand Isle as a strong Category 4 storm. The Greater New Orleans area is on the dirty Northeastern side of the hurricane and is expected to experience hurricane force winds for the next 6-12 hours.

Please take all precautions to shelter in place immediately.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
