A list of puns related to "National Provincial Bank"
Feel free to remove this post if you think it is redundant (it was removed on r/canada), but I've been meaning to mention this since we had our last delta wave in the first half of 2021.
I lived in Toronto for the initial lockdown. By all means, it made sense as we didn't know this virus at all. By the time waves 2 and 3 hit, a lot of information on the healthcare infrastructure came out that I felt ashamed not knowing about previously. Why is Bill 124, that caps nurses salaries, a thing? Why can't we pressure our politicians to repeal this in the face of the pandemic?
Since then, the ICU bed count for a province of nearly 15M hasn't budged, there are no outgoing plans to train more nurses and give them proper salaries, we haven't addressed physically & mentally drained hospital & lab staff, we haven't made a single dent in healthcare infrastructure investment. I get that its not easy, but how about just a fraction of that investment we've made on highways and real estate going to training nurses and re-training doctors (btw we have doctors in this country that come from overseas and drive ubers and are receptionists) ? I'm simply suggesting a focus on healthcare infrastructure. No one is going to fix our healthcare system in 18+ months, but doing absolutely nothing and repeating a selective lockdown everytime it is overwhelmed is not a way this country should function. Don't get me started on the logic behind shutting small businesses and allowing Walmart to function fully, shutting down gyms and health focused facilities in a healthcare crisis and hordes of other illogical, non-science based shutdowns.
I spent time in Asia and I've seen how quickly their responses, in various nations, have been been focused on aiding the healthcare system proactively by helping with rapid testing (even when cases were going down), temperature checks everywhere, booster avails, more training for nurses, higher investment in hospital resources etc. Why is it that we lag so far behind in this?
Not saying its perfect anywhere, but its quite appalling to see the government punish individuals who are vaccinated, followed the rules and we still end up in this very predictable predicament.
In wave 3, I wrote exactly this to our local politicians, to John Tory and ofcourse - Dougie's office. I wanted to at least remind them that this is a healthcare crisis and our focus, as a collective society, shouldn't be to divide opinions on how to handle this and blame each

Hi! I'm beginning my masters of counselling psychology and I've been looking into registering with either the CCPA or the CRPO (Ontario). I'm not sure if one is better than the other generally or specifically. Which is better for liability insurance, prices, professional development, etc.? My university is recognized by both.
I should preface this by saying I'm from the U.S. so excuse my ignorance, but through my own research I noticed the NDP performs better than the liberals in several provinces. I was wondering why this doesn't translate to a plurality in national elections. Am I missing something?

This question was inspired by the discovery that Nebraska has a unicameral legislature. That made me wonder why all of the other US states have a structure that basically mirrors the federal government, with a bicameral legislature and an independently elected executive. Why couldn't California have a parliament and a prime minister, for example?
Are there any countries where at least one subnational division has a really different kind of government from the national one?
In the US pretty much every politician from city dog catcher to President is part of the 2 main parties. I'm looking at places like Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan Party) and Alberta (United Conservative Party) seeing parties I've never heard of before. Why is that?
Iβm up in Canada and drones are prohibited in national parks and in the provincial parks where I live in Alberta they are also prohibited. Iβm looking into whether there are special permits I can attain so I can fly and record footage legally with my drone where I live. How about you guys?
Hello everyone, I have a particular interest in collecting paper fold-out maps of places that I hikeοΏΌ as souvenirs/keepsakes. Here is one of Georgian Bay Islands National Park (highly recommend you visit). I love having these maps during the hike so that I don't get lost. They certainly kept me going in the right direction on many occasions. My favourite part about them is that I can trace the trails I hiked with a marker afterwards and that way I can always look at them later and remember the hike!
So getting to the point, I am hoping that someone else with a similar interest may know if the Provincial Parks provide physical maps like these? I know that the National Parks do (if not all, than most do).
If it helps to be more specific, I am trying to figure out if Sleeping Giant Provincial Park in Thunder Bay provides these fold-out accordion style paper maps for their hikers.
Thank you in advance.
