Hi guys,
I have though about this thing and can't figure out anything to write. I'm in my final class and can't fanthom any capstone topic ideas in my masters program. Please, can you drop any suggestion as a reply. I'll greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you
My main symptoms are gone and besides this one thing, I feel normal. I have extreme itchiness in my hands and feet that is not satisfied by scratching. It's extremely debilitating, and I haven't slept more than 2 hours in 8 days. I have no rash or other skin abnormality that would suggest a skin condition. My doctor says it's a CNS condition called neuropathy and is caused by damage or inflammation to the nervous system or cardiovascular system (I can't remember which). He prescribed me gabapentin, which is a typical treatment for neuropathy, but it provides no relief. My question is, has anyone else gone through this? Is it permanent? How long did it last? Any suggestions to alleviate? I'm desperate.
Edit: Antihistamines (Zyrtec) knocked the neuropathy right out.
Something I made and thought I'd share.
*Edit*: To clarify, these are the certs you will receive while attending this degree plan. There are many more certs that WGU will accept as transferable credit, found here. For example: I submitted my GIAC GCFA cert when I changed my degree plan, I no longer have to take C840.

For anyone in the Cyber Security program here is a list of all the Certification and how to verify them, I recommend copying this into Excel and using it when applying for jobs. It also nice to know when your certification will expire. I know A+ is only one certificate and it is listed twice it for the people who like to keep track of when they finished the classes

Good Luck!
I’m a recent college graduate with a degree in SCIA and I’m looking at certifications. I’m just wondering if it’s important to get a CompTIA Security+ certification if I already have a degree? From what research I’ve done it seems like the certification is teaching about cyber security but I basically did all that in college. What certification would a job want to see with my degree that will move me forward?
I was looking for a little info on this program. Can anyone tell me if there is any programming you have to do for this degree? I hated programming for my bachelors although I always done well in the classes. Anyone had good luck getting through the program with little security experience? I do have a security+ cert (few other non security certs) but have been working in the networking/systems administrator roles since graduating 5 years ago.
Worth noting I am strictly getting this degree as the school system I work in IT at gives a $16,000 raise just for getting a masters. So, I am just looking for the quickest/easiest/cheapest masters program while also spending time with my family and kids.
Started the process by sending over my transcript and applying for financial aid. If everything goes smoothly, I may decide to start on 2/1. I'm beyond nervous but that is expected.
Hello Night Owls,
My mentor is out for 2 weeks and I'm still struggling to decide which classes to take in which order.
I have my A+, Network+, and Security+ currently, and below are my remaining classes until graduation do any current or former students have any insight on the order I take the remaining classes in or what worked for you?

Thank you all in advance.
Hi all. I start Dec01. For some background, I am using the G.I. Bill for funding. This requires me to shoot for 18 CU’s rather than 16. On top of this, I have an AAS in Informatics which leaves me with only 4CU classes. That means rather than the normal 16 or even the 18 for VA funded students, I must get 20 CU’s per term. This makes me extremely nervous and frankly scared. I have a baby on the way and am freaking out about whether or not I’ll be able to meet this requirement once my kid is here.
Any experience from CSIA grads with this particular course load? Bonus points if you used VA funding and could still overcome this.
This program technically isn't an REU, but still a research internship nonetheless. Has anyone applied and received a response yet? They said all applicants should be notified by mid-December.
Currently doing my Masters at WGU and am about halfway through. I’ve been looking into what’s next as I work at a job currently that affords me a lot of time to invest in myself.
I’ll fully admit that I don’t have a goal in mind as to why I would need a Doctoral degree aside from wanting to put Dr in front of my name or on a resume. I feel like I would just be wasting some good opportunities just sitting here letting a lot of my free time slip by while I’m “on the clock”.
I’ve done some limited research, and I would prefer an entirely online program to hybrid/on-campus. I see Walden and Northcentral come up pretty often but it seems like people have concerns about both.
Anyone else in a similar boat? Any advice? Talk me out of pursing it? Thanks!
Anybody in the crowd who pursued this degree and can shed a little light on it? Thinking about applying for this program for Fall of 2022 and debating whether it’s worth it, how many necessary tools you get from it, and, well, if it helps you find a job in the field. I think that cybersecurity is “the next hot thing” and I can really see myself working in the field. I don’t have any previous knowledge of it (going to have a BBA with concentration in digital marketing in the coming spring) but I always found it fascinating. Any tips/advices will be greatly appreciated 🙏
I completed my BS last year in CSIA. Trying to decide if I should start a related Master's at WGU or somewhere else and what program/degree. What have or would you do and why? Should I avoid getting a master's in cyber since I already have my BS?
Im afraid, my job is my life. It hurts to take any down time. But I'm also VERY worried this could ruin my career. Ive heard it can cause whistles and clicks on the Mic. I don't want to have to use dental adhesive (I've heard it makes people nauseous and my stomach is the reason I have bad teeth) what are the options for full dentures types? whats the process and time frame from going from a mouth of broken teeth to full dentures? And most importantly how did it effect your speaking? If your a voice actor with dentures I'd love to know!
Work background: 21 years in IT as basic Sysadmin, networking type. Mostly worked with small businesses. Worked for consultant companies and started my own companies ... last 7 years working on my own.
Education background: Washed out of "brick & mortar" universities after 2 state schools, ~ 60 credits, sunk by poor study habits, lack of motivation and a baby on the way. Rock bottom. I needed a career and got into IT on my own, pretty much self taught after I took an A+ / Net+ community college weekend class back in 1999. Many years later, seeing that I needed to back up my skills and experience with some "paper" and having the flexibility due to owning my own IT business, in 2013 I enrolled at WGU for a BS (I forget what major. Networking?), transferring in 53 previous B&M credits. I quickly found out that I liked the style of online, self paced, self directed learning at WGU but didn't like the major I was in (outdated certs). Un-enrolled after 1 term and spent the next 3 years getting several certs on my own (Net+, Sec+, Server+, CCNA, CCNA-SEC, CCNA CyberOps, CCNA Wireless) and plotting my return.
In 2017, re-enrolled with WGU (transferring in the relevant certs) and completed the remaining requirements for BS, IT Security, mid-2019. Hardest class? College Algebra. Best class? College Algebra. I proved to myself I wasn't actually "bad at math", I just hadn't actually tried to be good at it before. (ProTip: If you are "bad at math", do Khan Academy 1st Grade thru High School Algebra before you start WGU College Algebra. You'll be ready.) In general, I enjoyed the process and learned I wasn't so bad at "akuhdemiks" after all. At that point I was happy with what I'd done. I was the type of person who was raised in an environment where graduating from college was like, "Well, duh!" and was happy to get that monkey off my back. I did it for me and it was worth it.
MSCIA Journey: Cut to a year later, pandemic is starting to rage and I'm like ... what the hell, seeing as I'm going to be spending a slightly larger amount of time at home, could be a great time to go back to school! Could I really complete a Masters Degree? Seemed so foreign for a past flunky like me. No real reason to get a Masters as I ran my own small business ... but It ...sounded like fun? What had I become?!?!
Enrolled in WGU Master of Science, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance March 2020. Went "crazy" (for me, not for some of these "accelerator" types) and got 23 cred
... keep reading on reddit ➡I’m having second thoughts on getting this major. Haven’t seen much info online either about this major making me have these doubts. I want to have a career in cyber security. What I have seen online is that most people say to major in computer science but It’s to late to change in my case. Hopefully someone else can give me their point of view on this major
We have a small group gathered on Discord for discussing CSIA courses and useful info. We'd love for you to join us! It's a little less intimidating than the WGU discord. See you there!
I am interested in the Cybersecurity field and was recently admitted to the CSSE program. I was wondering how the CSSE: IAC program is? Is it worth switching programs from CSSE to CSSE: IAC option? Thank you.
Hey all, I’m trying to find out what certifications I will be getting along with this degree. I know of ITIL, as it’s the first cert I’ll be taking through the program, and I already had Security+ as well as CAP before I started. I’ll be talking with my PM on Friday but I’d like to see if anyone had information now rather than later and it seems like the website doesn’t quite spell it out. Thank you in advance!
