A list of puns related to "Naacp Legal Defense And Educational Fund"
If you are interested to read more, I got a long letter in my email.
Edit: From the comments below, here is the text of the email:
Fellow Members,
At Peloton, one of our core values is βTogether We Go Farβ. βTogether We Go Farβ means nothing without stating unequivocally that Black Lives Matter. This has never been clearer to me than in this moment and, like so many of you, I am outraged at the loss of life and the persistent unequal treatment of the Black community. Peloton is late to engaging directly with you on this β we have stood too quietly in the face of clear injustice.
That ends today. I want to be clear about where we stand and our next steps. I personally care deeply about this issue and Iβm prepared to do everything in my power to drive positive change. Peloton stands for inclusion, love, acceptance and support. If we do not love our neighbors, all of our neighbors, how do we love anyone?
Coming out of the last few weeks, our Black communities are hurting deeply. Members of our own Peloton community are hurting deeply. Our instructors and many of our other team members are hurting deeply. We need to stand together, help each other, love one another and, most importantly, take action.
Today, we are donating $500,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund to support the important work they are doing for racial justice.
As an ongoing commitment, we are creating an anti-racism plan to ensure that our organization can be the best version of itself, from the inside out. We may never be perfect, but weβre going to do better every day. We commit to sharing more about our efforts as they take shape. Please know that we will move quickly and that our actions will be sustained.
But we know this is not enough. We will continue to develop meaningful ways to use our voice, platform and resources to fight injustice. We are outraged and heartbroken at the events occurring across our country. In the fight for an anti-racist world, we have a responsibility to combat hate, discrimination and unfair treatment of our fellow humans. In a note that I sent to the Peloton Team on Friday, I called out the following:
At Peloton, we have the power and responsibility to create a culture where hate and discrimination have no place. The feeling I want all of you to have when you come to work, and for all of our Members to have every time they interact with us, is inclusion. Itβs belonging, acceptance, and safety. This week, whatβs become clear to me is we
... keep reading on reddit β‘'Waiters and Writers: Vol. 1', a compilation album featuring tracks from 5 members of this subreddit, was put up on Bandcamp last Friday with all proceeds going to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. By the following Sunday, we had already raised nearly $250! Minus the Bandcamp fee, our own proceeds came out to be just under $200 and as promised every penny went to the LDF (we rounded up for a nice even $200). Also side note: anyone who donated on Friday, Bandcamp also donated their share to the same charity so even more of your donation went to the LDF.
On top of that, we received a generous match from a third-party organization at 200%, which means another $400 was generated from this project for a total of $600!
We just wanted to say how grateful we are to everyone who listened/shared/donated, your support means the world to us and we're happy it's for a cause we believe in so strongly. This is truly such an amazing community!
If you haven't checked it out yet, the project is still available on Bandcamp for listening/purchase, and we will continue to donate all proceeds to the LDF. Check it out here:

I think this is just such a good idea. The NAACP Legal Defense Fund setup a database of Department of Justice grants to local police departments. Remember that all federal grants go along with Title VI requirements of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: prohibiting discrimination in programs that receive federal funding(!!) In other words, if you got a problem with racial profiling in your local police department, your federal funding is as risk. Here is main site:

Database of Federal grants to local police departments is here:

Opinion piece explaining project by director of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund here:
We must hold police departments to account, even if the Trump administration fails to do so
I would only say more work needs to be done. Especially adding other Federal agencies that fund the police, like the Department of Transportation through NHTSA.
Thanks for participating in today's AMA! Best, Monique
My short bio:
I'm Monique Lin-Luse, an assistant counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF). On May 17th, 1954, LDF represented the plaintiffs in Brown v. Board of Education - and won. Today, I'm here to talk about the promise of school integration, the rise of re-segregation, and the use of exclusionary and overly-punitive disciplinary practices that fuel the school-to-prison pipeline and limit educational opportunities for all students.
Brown v. Board of Education ended segregation by law, but segregated schools persist to this day. There are significant obstacles to educational opportunities for too many children of color. In addition to the problems surrounding segregation, students of color are also increasingly drawn into a phenomenon labeled the school-to-prison pipeline, facing policies and practices that push students out of the education system and into the criminal and juvenile justice systems.
Ask me anything!
