50 Nifty Reading Challenge

Hi everybody! So I gave myself a reading challenge based off the 50 states: For each state I'll be reading a work by an author born in said state, a poet (all native Americans poets. I couldn't find poets for a few states tho so I instead went with a native american historical nonfiction for the states I couldn't find), a fiction, a nonfiction, a historical Nonfiction, and a young adult novel. So in total I'll be reading 6 books for each state. It took me a good while to find all the books I wanted for each category but I've finally done it!! That being said, I had the thought that it might be fun to get another category going- suggestions or favorites from everybody on here. So would everybody give me their suggestions of their favorite books set in each state, or just books that you think would fit perfect with this challenge, please and thank you!! I added my list below. It's a long one!

Anyone had much experience with the scam calls claiming to be the FBI?

I've gotten a few of these, and there was an aspect that made me feel unnerved. Yes, I know they're not the FBI. They always have the same thick accent most scam tech support calls do. But as far as I've known, scam call centers cast a wide net; they call huge blocks of numbers, have no idea who you are, and just play along like they meant to call you specifically AFTER you've given them some information.

So, I'm sure I'm not the only person who somdetimes likes playing along. I might act extremely into the scheme and start dropping in nonsense words, or other admittedly more juvenile things like my friend's "Just so you know, I plan on masturbating through this entire call, is that okay with you?" The FBI calls always start by immediately asking for my name-- which is funny since the robocall gives the impression that there's a case against ME, the unnamed recipient of the call. However, when I give them a realistic but spurious name (after trying to sound concerned and slightly fearful) they hang up.

Until the latest, when the caller said, "I'm sorry sir, this call is for Scott Myron Sierra Billingsley (they got my real full name, with middles too) not you. Good day." Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over? A scam tall targeting an individual by name...? Has anyone heard of this?

Rifftrax's MST3K Deal Of The Week Buyer's Guide: The Unearthly (with Posture Pals and Appreciating Your Parents, Season 3 Episode 20)

TIME FOR GO TO RIFF in this week's MST3K classic episode, The Unearthly! John Carradine IS Doctor Conway, a "psychiatrist" whose true purpose is to implant artifical glands in people to give them eternal life and youth. He has been experimenting on the oddballs provided by his cohort Dr. Wright, but so far the best he has managed to do is maim and kill his victims, and put one of them, Jedrow, (who looks a ton like riff famous Centron director Herk Harvey) into a weird catatonic state. Dr. Conway believes that the one thing he needs to succeed is a non-insane person to operate on, which makes sense when you see the hammy nutballs he has to work with. His luck seems to change when wanted murderer Frank Scott wanders onto his property (played by Myron Healey, also seen as the General in Incredible Melting Man), but even with the aid of assistant Dr. Gilchrist and idiot man mountain Lobo (Tor Johnson), things, obviously, can only go wrong.

And that's not all! Along with this short filler feature, surprisingly featuring set designs by the man who did the same job for many of the classic Universal monster movies, Charles D Hall, we get two shorts. The first, Posture Pals, is a grim condemnation of the weak, commie way children stood in the 1950s. Basically, the teacher draws the silhouettes of four differently slouching kids on the blackboard, we get a bunch of dubious, disembodied lecturing that sometimes rhymes, and everyone's life is made better by standing up straight. Hooray.

The second short is Appreciating Your Parents, and features an elementary schooler realizing that his parents actually do things around the house to keep it from falling into utterly filthy chaos. It's less condescending than Posture Pals, perhaps, and is basically just asking kids to pitch in a bit and stop watching that damned Howdy Doody, or something. Do note that the print isn't a great one, and has a few skips in it. Rifftrax re-riffed this one a few years ago with a complete, colorized version of the short, if you're interested in comparisons.

If that isn't enough content for you, we also have the shenanigans outside of the theater. We start off with the Bots staging an AFV video, because everyone in the world was doing a staged AFV video gag in the 90s. Crow doesn't fare well, and the results last through into the shorts. For the Invention Exchange, Frank blubbers in terror while Dr. F demonstrates Hard To Swallow Pills, and Joel throws out some pretty lame celebrity insp

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂

Fnaf solved (well kind of)

I won't claim that I have solved FNAF completely but I have tried a different approach to solve it. I have not played any of the games neither I have read any of the novels or fazbear frights book. The only source of information I had were game theory episodes on FNAF by Matthew Sir, Summary/plot of all three novels and Fazbear frights books at FNAF-the-novel fandom.com and to some extent Freddy files updated edition (currently I have completed only FNAF 1 from that book). Therefore, there are some chances that I might get something wrong but I think I have solved it atleast to some extent or at least provided new insights to the whole franchise.

In one of his FNAF theories titled "Game Theory: FNAF, The FINAL Timeline (FNAF Ultimate Custon Night) Matthew Sir said that while making that timeline, he adhered to three rules, one of which was that he gave priority to latest information by Mr. Scott than older one in case both contradicts and while I think it was a really good approach, I thought that even Mr. Scott would have thought about such issues. Probably that's the reason, why Mr. Scott in FNAF Help wanted made every previous game "just a game", an elaborate -cover up. So I took a different approach & I looked at the series as if the whole series came out at once, everything was planned and everything, every detail was intended by him. Therefore I am posting this theory(ies) to keep my point of view towards the series in front of you.

Disclaimer: As I have mentioned earlier, it is just my point of view, somethings can be outrageous to some FNAF fans who knows lot more than me, therefore, I would like to apologise in advance and offer a suggestion that if you read this post just as if you don't know anything about FNAF or in a light way or open way, it will probably make it enjoyable. I Hope that you will like it.

• 3 Universe hypothesis -

• After FNAF Help wanted, we got to know that all the previous games were just games "an elaborate cover up" by Freddy Fazbear Entertainment. I think that FNAF is actually happening in three different universes. The game universe where games takes place, FNAF universe where actual events took place and our universe. A thought that came into my mind was, what if all the previous games were also VR games but instead of us playing them it was someone else whom we played as. This alligns with everything what tape girl said and even proves that glitchtrap was present in the games since FNAF 2. Just imagine, A g

These aren't dad jokes...

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.

If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.

Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

Alabama     Author: William March- The Bad Seed     Poet: Janet McAdams- 7 Boxes for the Country After     Fiction: The Well and the Mine- Gin Phillips     Nonfiction: All Over but the Shoutin- Rick Bragg     Historical: Alabama Scoundrels- Kelly Kazek & Wil Elrick     Young adult: The Drowned Forest- Kristopher Reisz

FNAF Solved ( well kind of)

I won't claim that I have solved FNAF completely but I have tried a different approach to solve it. I have not play any of the games niether I have read any of the novels or faglear frights book.

Just imagine, A gam
