A list of puns related to "Music Of Bollywood"
Remember when we used to play music and father used to say " what is this? Is this even music. Songs were the one used to hear in our old times." I am feeling same way now whenever I see teen playing Bollywood songs I am liike "what is this? The lyrics are so bad and music is too much catchy and repeated in not a good way? Is it bad or maybe my taste of music changed. Should I just stick to indie for Indian songs.
Sheher ki Ladki? Seriously? That song wasn't even that popular when it came out. Current state is take any song and have Baadshah rap into it a bit and you're good to go. 30 Million views on YouTube. May be I'm getting old to appreciate this new trend but at least back in my day music even though sometimes inspired (lifted) from elsewhere had some originality. This is just lazy.
as the title asks! i want to pick yβall brains because i literally cannot think of a single dream poppy song maybe i just donβt have extensive knowledge or maybe bollywood does not need this kind of genre but i was thinking...
khaabon ke parindey - zindagi an milegi dobara
tere naina - chandni chowk to china
nasha - shaitan
idk this might be a stretch but i just wanted to see if anybody out there who compiles playlists? obviously there might not be any but even if you know of anything similar to this genre...could you please recommend me some albums/songs/singers?
Finding pop music a bit stale? Want to try something new?
Indian Bollywood pop holds an entire world of music that is refreshingly unique but still incredibly accessible to the Western ear. While it borrows trademark sounds and styles from traditional genres like bhangra or Indian classical, the final product is undeniably pop, appealing to a country of 1 billion people and beyond.
For this selection, I have chosen a set of tracks that serve as a sample to this massive collection of music. I have deliberately chosen songs that are up-beat (so no ballads), recent, and popular, to give you the best idea of what music is like in this culture.
##How Indian Bollywood Music Works
One very important distinction about Indian pop music is that for the most part, songs are released for and through Bollywood movies, similar to Hollywood soundtracks only on a much more dominant scale. Think of what Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On is to Titanic, then imagine an entire industry based on that type of release strategy, and you have Bollywood pop music. And I'm not talking about a simple discreet end-credit track, the average Bollywood movie will feature multiple scenes of songs throughout the film itself (basically every Bollywood movie is sort of a musical), with the main actors lip-syncing the song along with elaborate choreographed dance sequences for each, and hence most songs are remembered as being from that given movie (rather than the singers). The music and movie industries are heavily intertwined, and while there are independent album cycles as well, the most popular music tends to be from movies.
Therefore, all the music video links below are technically the songs' scenes taken directly from their respective movies, and released officially as music videos. I recommend watching the videos along with the song because they're all really fun.
##Songs
Subha Hone Na De from Desi Boyz: START HERE. This maximalist dance track is a monster, with a super-catchy female hook with a brilliant auto-tuned effect. The movie is about two guys who lost their jobs and decided to become strippers and this is one of their first big parties. If You Like: Ke$ha, Cher, fun party bangerzz.
Radha from Student Of The Year: A quintessential example of how Bollywood fuses traditional Indian musical styles with pop perfection. This bubbly song goes back a

Not accusing anyone of plagiarism. Just funny, random coincidence, I guess.
Namaste mere dosto! My second video reviewing βjawani Janemanβ, sung by Asha bhosle and featuring the beautiful Parveen Babi is uploaded! Please check out this amazing song!

Iβve been listening to Lucky Ali (late 90βs and early to mid 2000βs), who had some fire hits.
Iβm also realizing that as Iβve hit my mid-20βs, Iβm beginning to turn the clock back in time to the proper golden age of Bollywood type music, anything from Rafi, Lata, Kishore Kumar (obviously those three) to even Talat Mahmood. Not so much into the slower ballad type ones, but RD Burman, for example, produced some incredible upbeat music by introducing the jingle / drum backdrop that brought a new life to that era.
Growing up, I felt put off by my parents listening to these kinds of tunes no doubt, but itβs grown on me to the point Iβm actively curating a playlist on Spotify. Great driving music.
Maybe something about what the role of record labels is in deciding who gets songs or really who calls the shots as far as music is concerned, any stories you might have. I keep hearing about actors and directors but I'd also like to read something about singers, composers etc.
P.S- added discuss flair because I am not really sure what this would fall into
I'm fed up with Punjabi sings ruining Bollywood. Rappers like Baadshah or Yo Yo are highly overrated and dont deserve to stay here. Music composer's like Amit Trivedi (Fitoor, Kai Po Che, Lootera, etc) are always ignored for remakes of old songs with raps from Baadshah. It has to stop.
Recently i was listening AIR and songs from movie JISM were being played and i realized how amazing those tracks were and how i used to listen to those back in days, can anyone recommend any other such movie/album with such unique music.
My boyfriend and I both dislike Bollywood music (he's a pure metalhead and I barely understand Hindi lmao). What are some good places to go this Saturday that would play anything but Bollywood? Eg. hip-hop, psy, trance, even EDM
We're in a LDR and barely get to go out like this, so believe me, any suggestions to would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!! <3

I just got on this Reddit it feels so cool to see this community. I live in a place with a minimal Indian kids around in college so I have no one to talk about Bollywood music or films. So I'd love to chat about fav actors or songs? My current fav actor is Arjun Kapoor.
