A list of puns related to "Mu To E Gamma"
This isn't really purchase advice, but mods please remove if it isn't allowed. Just wanted to know the differences between these two headphones considering the small price gap and similarities in build.

Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany with Lawton Driver damping and Custom 3.5mm Removable cable - $285 Shipped *Sold*Timestamp Comes with Both Stock fostex pads and ZMF Eikon Sheepskin with 3D Printed Attenuation Ring and Pad Holder. I highly recommend buying these with the custom Golden Teak cups as pictured, with the cups and the lawton mod this headphone has delivered the most bass I have ever experienced in a headphone while still giving good detail. (I suspect the th900 may be better, but I havent tried it)
E-MU Ebony with Custom Removable 2.5mm Cables - $260 Shipped Timestamp *Sold*- Very similar to Fostex TH/TR-X00, but the driver implementation is a bit more refined. This results in the headphone being more detailed/balanced than the X00 Ebony. Comes with Both Stock fostex pads and ZMF Eikon Sheepskin with 3D Printed Attenuation Ring and Pad Holder.
Lohb Custom Golden Teak Cups Timestamp -$70 Shipped *Sold*-These were CNC Milled by Lohb to have the deepest chamber possible to fit in the stock fostexl yokes. The Higher Janka hardness and larger inner volume than the stock Fostex and Denon helps increase soundstage, bass extension and separation of bass, mids and treble. I have hand dyed to to a purple/cherry color and lacquered them. Fostex, Denon and E-MU are all based on the same design, so these cups will work with any of them.
Set of Koss Porta Pro, Koss KSC75 and KHP30i - $45 Shipped *Sold* Timestamp, Both the Porta Pro and KSC75 Are brand new in box.
JDS Element I - $175 Shipped *Sold* Timestamp, comes with the Original Power adapter and USB Cable, but no box.
Fostex/E-MU Attenuation Ring and Pad mount Timestamp- I can print additional sets of these for 7 Dollars Shipped.
Recently, I've been using my E-Mu Teaks pretty much all the time while I sit at my computer. I basically fell in love with them once I changed the pads to Eikon ones and added a pilot headpad. I love it for the type of music I listen to, and I love it when playing video games that I'm not really competing with other people in (basically anything solo play) and certain types of movies. So I'd love to grab something just as good as my E-Mu teaks but for more specific usage.
$800 CAD is pretty much $620 USD. If there are better options at up to $1000 CAD ($750 USD), I can definitely adjust my budget. I don't mind going lower obviously, but I do want to invest a little bit more than the typical entry level stuff.
(Spotify/Video Game) -> Modi 2U -> Magni 3 -> Cans
How the gear will be used - Definitely home use only. Volume levels are a bit high sometimes when I'm looking for the rumble with my E-Mu Teaks (about 12oClock on the Magni + Spotify Prem 80%).
I love my bass, I love my treble even more. I like my mids... I'm probably looking for something more flat this time around rather than the U shape of the E-Mu Teak.
A lot of it is electronic music these days, but its quite varied. Example spotify playlist. Seems there's also some Metalcore, Japanese stuff, VGM, Chiptune, among others. Also enjoy classical at times.
E-Mu Teak - By far my favourite pair of headphones I've put on my noggin. The bass kicks, the highs are there and more, and vocals come out very well imo. Unfortunately, I can't hear footsteps at all when I play Overwatch using these, and I feel like that's something I want to add to my arsenal. My main cans for everything right now while at home.
AD700x/AD1000x - Honestly, I thought these were the perfect headphones for me. If only they would work with my head. They were uncomfortable as hell because they kept sliding down my head and didn't clamp properly. Didn't get a seal at all with these. I first got the AD1000x but returned them because I just wanted something for video games and got the AD700x. After 2 months with the AD700x, I've concluded I can't enjoy these even if the sound signature was pretty nice and the soundstage was there, however imaging wasn't as nice as I'd hoped. Given away/Returned.
HD650 - I don't like using these for my game

Just got myself the Teaks
What aspect of your current listening experience would you like to improve? - I just received my E-Mu Teaks from Massdrop earlier this week and I'm in love. I'm hoping there are IEMs that sound similar for portable use.
Budget - I'm hoping to spend less than the ~$500 for the Teaks, $300 or less would be nice
Source/Amp - iPhone, with or without a Fiio amp. Looking for wired IEMs but if there is something wireless that is amazing I would certainly try it.
How the gear will be used - Portable or other situations where I don't want to take full size cans. Noise isolation would be nice - I'll probably use Comply-style tips anyway since I like the comfort and fit they provide.
Preferred tonal balance - I am a bit of a basshead, but I really like the tonal balance of the Teak. Previously I really loved the Sennheiser HD1 but it is just a bit too dark if I'm being honest. I'd like something that can go deep and loud without butchering the highs and imaging.
Preferred music genre(s) - A bit of everything but lots of electronic music and rock music.
Past gear experience - I have the Sennheiser HD1 in-ear which is tolerable. Love my Teaks, like the Sennheiser HD1 (over ear), and also like the Sony MDR-1A.

I really like my gear and use it all so I might be a little picky but I will honestly entertain any offers, research it and all that. Can balance with cash in either direction.
SOLD, Thanks!
Headfi listing (if you want to see feedback - I haven't been super active on this sub for a while). I also have feedback on r/Knife_Swap
I have E-Mu Teaks - the version with removable cables, for sale. They're in excellent condition with extra ZMF leather earpads (on the headphones - the stock are separate and unused), a short 2.5mm balanced cable and a long, 1/4" ended Periapt cable. I have around 20-30 hours on these headphones - I've had them for a while, but I bought them when I had a ton of other kinds too so they just were in a big rotation. I switched to speakers shortly afterwards. I'm looking for SOLD. shipped for everything.
The only trades I'd consider would be for higher end pocket knives.
I'd like to keep this deal in the US. Thanks!
Just got a Magni 2 Uber and I want to replace my Modi 2 standard with the Uber. If you want to trade a standard modi 2 for the uber I'd be happy to. I'll take pictures if anyone's interested. My modi is in pristine condition, I doubt it has moved more than 5 feet since I've opened it. While I'd rather trade, I'm also open to buying outright.
As far as headphones go, I'm mainly interested in the TH-X00 but I'm also interested in the E-MU teak. I'm willing to pay a premium for detachable cable mods or aftermarket pads. For the TH-X00 my order of preference is purpleheart > ebony > mahogany and for the teak it's ebony > rose > teak (other ones I haven't seen good pics of, feel free to send me pics of your exotic wood emu cups if you're willing to sell them to me).
I'll consider any similar sounding cans as well. I mainly listen to rap and rock, although I dabble in just about every genre aside from country. These headphones will also be used for a lot of gaming, so imaging quality and soundstage are important things to consider as well. I realize the Foster cans I'm after are closed and have a rather small soundstage, but I (without having heard them myself) feel like they perfectly match my musical tastes, so I'm ok with the fact that they aren't the most competitive headphones for gaming ever.
Please comment before sending me a PM. My flair over at r/hardwareswap has a few confirmed trades with more pending confirmation.
Mr. Speakers Ether CX - $600 shipped SOLD - Excellent condition. Comes with the Mr. Speakers Ether case. You can choose the cable that came with the ether (Headphone -> XLR -> 3.5mm -> 1/4") or the Mr. Speakers DUM cable (Headphone -> 3.5mm -> 1/4"). https://imgur.com/a/9jl3grQ
E-MU Teak - 200 shipped SOLD for too cheap oops - Some very light scuffing on one side - barely worth mentioning. Previous owner tried to replace the headband and botched it. Doesn't affect sound and headband works fine. Comes with ZMF pilot head pad, ZMF Eikon pads, original 3.5mm to 1/4" cable, a 1/4" periapt cable, and a case. https://imgur.com/a/BsAJe4o
Let me know if you need faster shipping for a certain holiday coming far too soon. Both were replaced with a pair of Aeon 2 at a rather inconvenient budgetary time... Taking offers.
