A list of puns related to "Mount Pleasant High School"
We are looking to buy or rent - our kid would be entering the 10th grade. For what I read, they opened the school this year for 9th and 10th. Is the surrounding area a good area?

High school parents are all too familiar with the seemingly endless string of fundraising events that start in the fall and continue throughout the year.
From candy bars to coupon books, thereβs usually no shortage of ways for parents to dip into their wallets and support the studentsβ extracurriculars.
Traditionally, these fundraising campaigns are each centered around a specific school group or club. The band students raise money for new music supplies; the football team raises money for new equipment.
But a new fundraising group at the soon-to-be-opened Lucy Beckham High School hopes to overhaul how the system usually works.
Building a new high school from the ground up has its advantages, said Catherine Templeton, the parent of two ninth grade students at Lucy Beckham and the president of the newly established One Beckham Foundation.
It means thereβs more opportunities to try something different, she said, even if itβs never been done before.
The idea behind the One Beckham Foundation is simple: Combine all of the Mount Pleasant schoolβs arts, athletics and academic groups under one fundraising umbrella so any club or group, no matter the size, will receive fair, equitable funding.
βEverybody gets what they need, so the band doesnβt get $5 million and the chess club gets zero,β Templeton said.
There is some funding at the district level thatβs set aside for school extracurriculars, including the salaries of coaches, band directors and other staff positions, said CCSD spokesman Andy Pruitt. But often that money isnβt enough to cover all the expenses a group or organization might need.
At Lucy Beckham, the average cost parents spend to enroll their child in the band program is around $1,000, Templeton said. That money goes toward things such as renting or buying an instrument, purchasing sheet music and paying for travel to competitions. Thatβs where fundraising comes in.
The foundation, a pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit, consists of representatives from the PTSO, athletic boosters and the performing arts.
Each of those groups will still operate with its own leadership infrastructure, Templeton said, but they will all fundraise together.
βWhatever the need, whichever Beckham student, no matter the interest is the mission of the One Beckham Foundation to let the teachers teach, the co

So here's what happened: yesterday, after seeing how popular the post got, I decided to see if this whole "ghost" theory people were having was real or not. I didn't consider myself a believer, even after the facts, but it all started to make sense in my head. As I've said before, at first, what made more sense to me is that this was a weird breakup story, nothing more. But the thought that this may be some sort of supernatural thing was in the back of my mind this whole time, and, with help from the mysterious letter (which, by the way, I've confirmed is real and have got it with me now), you guys opened it up for me.
I did something crazy. I checked online for someone who would help me with this. If this is an actual spirit, then mediums may be real, too. I searched around, but I didn't want to spend money on one of those fakers, so I really had to look for someone who seemed, at least, believable.
It was impossible. There didn't seem to be any good mediums near me, all the reviews had at least one client who trashed them, probably because of disbelief of their craft, but I still didn't wanna risk it. So I was there all night trying to find someone. When, all of a sudden, a message popped up on my phone. It was a reddit DM.
"Hello, I've read your post. I know a way to find her."
I was intrigued. It could have easily been a troll who just wanted to prank me, but a mix of insomnia and fatigue made me trust them.
"Really?", I replied.
"Yes.", they said. "What time is it for you?"
I looked at the clock.
"3:42 AM"
They stayed silent for a minute or two.
"Alright, good enough. It's normally around 5 AM when this works best."
Theythen typed for a long time. The caffeine kept me from falling asleep to this. I didn't have to go to work next morning, so it was okay.
"*You'll need a candle, some garlic and a broom, as well as something she had affection toward. It's better if it directly belonged to her, but I'm assumming you don't have anything she owned, so something she liked will do. Go to the closest cemetery if you wanna see her clearly. Go alone. If you don't know the legend of Rick Mount, here is his wikipedia entry, with key details such as:
He was the first HS athlete to ever appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
While in HS in Indiana, he once scored 57 points in a super high-profile game and was named the national player of the year as a senior.
At Purdue, he was 1st-team All-America as a junior and senior, and 3rd-team as a sophomore.
At Purdue, he set numerous scoring records (college stats - 29, 33, 35 ppg), plus he was a tremendous shooter who would sometimes make double-digit amount of shots from 3-point distance. He was arguably the 3rd-best college player during his time at Purdue ('68-70), behind all-time legends Lew Alcindor and Pete Maravich.
He lead Purdue to the 1969 national championship game, where they lost to Alcindor's UCLA Bruins. Here is a picture of Mount being guarded by Alcindor in that game. Mount scored 28 points in the championship finals while Alcindor had 37.
Mount was the #1 pick in the 1970 ABA draft by the Indiana Pacers, and he signed with them before the NBA draft so they left him alone until the Lakers used a throw-away 8th round pick to select his NBA rights.
He was only so-so in the ABA (career stats - 12 ppg over 5 seasons, won a title with the Pacers in '72), and I've read before that he was in his head about expectations and basically just "overthought" his way into mediocrity. His much less heralded Purdue teammate Bill Keller played with him for a season or two in the ABA, and Keller was a scrappy little PG who ended up being a much better shooter than Mount in the ABA.
Last night, around 4 am there was an attempted break-in in my apartment building. The assailants managed to get into the commom space, and then kicked someones door in part way and were only detered when the resident screamed and woke other neighbours. It's long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone saw anything suspicious in the Prince Albert & 7th/Sahalli Park are9a around that time last night, between maybe 2:30 and 4:30.
Please leave a comment or dm me if you have any info. Thank you.
Edit: from what I know it was a group of 3 people. 2 men and 1 woman. They apparently gained sccess to the building and then taped the latches so they wouldnt close and they could have free access. The woman knocked on the resident's door asking for a brother who lived there, and then started kicking when they refused to open up. Check your buildings doors for tape and make sure not to let anyone strange in behind you.
