Besides “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”, what quotes have kept you going even in the hardest times during your weight loss journeys?

For years (around 6 i think) I’ve been led around by my addiction. I love chainsmoking. Daily I cough up handfuls of brown and yellow phlegm- often stringy, with black spots. I don’t even know how many times i’ve seen blood in my phlegm now.

This is just an unnecessary, expensive bill that I make myself pay. I got a free trial of “lucy” nicotine gum to help with my habitual urge.

I want my skin to look nicer. I want my singing voice to be the best it can be. I want to spend my money on things that are fun. I don’t want to worry about blood vessels and hernias. I don’t want to cough all the time. I want to be free.

When I was a teenager, I knew someone who had COPD from smoking. They would take their oxygen thing off to smoke cigarettes. They died a couple of years ago. This has always stuck in my mind.

How do I stop when I don’t care about my health / myself? I don’t hate myself entirely, I just don’t care if I die early really. I want to change this because I know it is illogical, but honestly it’s hard to tell myself no to brief moments of feeling good.

Hi everyone! I really struggle with staying motivated and not getting so intimidated by the amount of weight I still need to lose, as I’m sure a lot of you do as well. So I thought I would ask this and that way if people are feeling unmotivated, they can come back to this post and maybe someone’s reply will stick out to them and help them find the motivation they need.

You would think it helps but all it does is give you a false sense of hope. There's too much telling you how to live your life and you feel pressure if you don't live up to them aka toxic positivity.

You think they have the answers to life but they don't . I stopped looking at Jay Shetty or any influencers like that. Im more happy not thinking and living by quotes.

The intentions are good but at the end of the day, their situations are so much different than ours. It feels like a slap in the face when most of us are fighting to get through school or 9-5 jobs. The tough truth is most of us can’t become famous musicians or professional athletes. There’s a lot of luck involved in that too.

Especially when they say if you just “manifest” it all of your dreams will come true. There’s so much more hard work that goes into whatever you’re doing.

It’d be so much more productive to encourage people to go to school or work hard than “follow their dreams”

I wander a lot in skyrim. I mostly avoid quests because I quiqly feel bored with them, so I prefer to wander all around skyrim, collecting stuff, selling, and talking to NPCs, like if I was having a conversation with them, etc. I do some quests too, sometimes, but I prefer roleplaying. And sometimes, I talk to some random NPCs and listen to their story and stuff. And there are some quotes that I find really inspiring, like for example this quote from Shahvee (Argonian female in windhelm):
