A group of buddies and I, 12 guys total, organized a ski vacation to a mountain in Maine. Great place to ski but we had a disagreement about the lodging. The majority of the group wanted to cram multiple ppl into a hotel room; more than the comfortable limit (my limit at least). Im not sure why but we are all older, some of us married and even with kids. But the mentality of lodging like we are still in our 20s is prevalent. Weve done trips like this and I barely sleep. I dont like sharing a bed with my male friends. My last bed mate had great difficulty finding a comfortable position. The heaving & squirming about, the wheezing, snuffling and grunting in the darkness might have come from a pen of restless pigs. Im cramped, somebody is always snoring, farting, waking up to take a leak, somebody is coming/going at wierd hours; the bathroom/shower is busy, everybody's clothing/shit is on top of one another; its not relaxing! The last time, I was last to take a morning dump, 5 guys before me already destroyed the bathroom. It was so gross, I moved the coffee maker to brew a pot in the bathroom to neutralize the atmosphere.
I cant be the only one feeling this way! So this time around Id book my own room and spread out a bit. 5 people in 1 room, 6 in another sharing 2 queen beds + a pull out couch. Nope! I did NOT want to repeat last vacation and looked forward to relaxation, actual sleep, my own bathroom.
Disaster on the first night. Somebody was drunk and didnt make to the toilet in time vomiting on the room carpet. One of the guys from that room approached me and asked if he could bunk with me. My room has dbl queen beds and I made him a deal. You split the room cost with me and on the condition we allow nobody else. While I feel for those guys, im not cramming in again like sardines. I could bunk with 1 person but I had to put my foot down somewhere.
Predictably, I get requests to allow more, even from the non vomit room. I said no. They even drew up a plan to divide the 12 ppl in our group among the 3 rooms; I didnt want to bunk with 3 people & refused. Nobody had a good answer when I pointed out 5-6 in a room was ok during planning phase but not ok now? I thought of that beforehand and got my own room but when I decline to "help", Im the bad guy? The maids cleaned the vomit and the smell was gone. The hotel was booked & no other rooms available.

We ended up going for a group vacation overseas a few weeks ago and made plans to book rooms in the same resort so we get to enjoy our time together.
Although 3 of my friends booked a 3 bedroom room for themselves I went out of my way to get a one king-sized suite on the off-chance I was going to spend the night with someone then Iโd like to have my own space.
I matched with some girls on tinder on day 1 and made plans to meet one the next day. On the other hand, One of my friends happened to hit it off with one girl who came to the resort with her family so going to her place wasnโt an option.
He came to me practically begging to borrow my place for the night and I refused because thereโs no way Iโm gonna be able to sleep in that bed after heโs done with his business.
He called me a bad friend and added that I went out of my way to not be in the same room with them when itโs a group vacation which further proves his point.
I replied that he has 0 say in the way I choose to spend my vacation and that the only time Iโm not hanging out with them is literally to sleep. If anything he a shitty friend for trying to pressure me into giving up the place I paid triple for just so he can have his one night stand.

The account of her death mentions that she was found at the bottom of "the exterior stairs leading to the beach"..while there are a few 'stairs' that lead down, the hotel also looks fairly different than it once did. The addition of the pools/parking lot/extra buildings, perhaps the original stairs in question no longer exist.
