A list of puns related to "Monte Carmelo"
There have been rumors of a possible expansion, so letβs imagine it does happen, but the NBA decides to only add one new team to the league (sorry Vegas), bringing back the beloved Seattle Supersonics. The Sonics are back babbyyyyyyyy!
Now the Sonics need to build their team from ground up, starting with the expansion draft, and following it with signing players in the off-season.
Here are some simplified terms of the expansion draft:

I have posted this one after regular season, but offseason is long so I'll repost it now as someone might find it interesting to watch some last season highlights of their favourite players best game.
I chose minimum of 30 games played (over whole season, not only for team player currently plays for). I probably made some errors in lineups for few teams, or missed some game that was better than one I listed, but here are the stats :

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Weβre only two weeks into the start of the 2021-2022 NBA season and weβve already seen a handful of highlights, thrilling overtime games, and players in mid-season form. Prior to the start of the regular season, we released the list of player ratings for NBA 2K22. Naturally, there were some surprises and some snubs, but with two weeks of games under our belt, we can now reassess the ratings. Letβs break down the most notable changes and the players that are excelling.

Itβs early, but right now, Paul George is averaging the most points of his career at 28.3 per game. Expected to carry the Clippers without Kawhi Leonard, PG has answered the call so far this season, even if it hasnβt translated to wins yet. The Los Angeles native has high expectations this season and is viewed by many as a potential MVP candidate. PG is rolling with a full head of steam, letβs see if he can keep it going.

KAT is undeniably one of the best big men in the game and has a knack for scoring from virtually anywhere on the court. It should come as no surprise that heβs posting his typical numbers of 24 points, nearly 10 rebounds, and four assists per game, but what heβs doing from an efficiency standpoint is insane. Heβs currently shooting 52 percent from the field and knocking down 50 percent of his three point attempts, let that sink in. Between KAT and Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves might make some noise this year.

Serious question, is there anything Ja canβt do? He can leap over defenders with a single bound, he can speed from one end of the court to the other in the blink of an eye, and he can score at will with a graceful touch. The former No. 2 overall pick is making an early case for Most Improved Player of the Year, posting 28.3 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assistsβall career-highsβwhile hoisting his squad into a legitimate playoff contender year-in and year-out. Morant is a rising star, so itβs only right his rating

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
Laudetur Iesus Christus.
Yesterday I bought a beautiful old Carmelite breviary. The title page says: > Breviarium Ordinis Fratrum Beatissimæ Virginis Mariæ de Monte Carmelo; juxta hierosolymitanæ ecclesiæ antiquam consuetudinem; auctoritate apostolica approbatum; Rmi P. Hilarii Mæ Doswald; totius ordinis prioris generalis jussu editum; Pars Verna; * and some info about the printing *
Now only when I looked at it in detail at home, I discovered the 'Pars Verna' part ('spring part'); after the Ordinarium divini Officii i.e., the Ordinary, it contains the Propers for Lent and Eastertide, and the saints who fall in this part of the calendar. I was a bit sad, because while I thought I could pray the Divine Office with this Breviary, it's only 1/4 of a whole Breviary. Do you know if I could still pray with the Breviary in Ordinary Time, by using the Ordinarium divini Officii, or are the psalmodies/antiphons/prayers not compatible in that case? If not, I'll stick to the Officium parvum B. Mariæ Virginis which I was happy to find in the back (the Little Office is not tied to any particular liturgical season, right?)
Ad Iesum per Mariam.
When I got home, they were still there.

NBA is a star-driven league. You have your LeBrons, your Kobes, your Duncans and your Jordans. You can't win without them. In fact, it has been said that you canβt win an NBA title without having one of the top 10 players in the league. Generational players have always been the base of a perennial contender. Or a contender generally. There have been teams constructed around non-superstars, such as the Horford-Millsap-Korver Hawks, or the DeRozan-Lowry Raptors, but what these teams share is that they ultimately always ended up short.
So, at first, I asked myself if it was possible to make a contender out of players who arenβt among the best two players on their team. It turns out that the answer to that question is an easy yes. You still have the likes of Kyrie, Klay (or Draymond), Jrue, Tobias (or Simmons), Ayton, Westbrook, Capela, etc. either starting or coming off the bench. So, if you made a 12-men roster out of these, the sheer number of all-stars would ultimately be the difference maker.
Therefore, I decided to take this thought experiment up a notch and make it more challenging. I decided to see what the best iteration of a team made of players that arenβt the first, the second, nor the third best player on their current team is. I asked myself if it was possible to make a contender out of players who are not in the top 3 players on their own teams.
Before I propose a team, let me list the best players eligible for this experiment. The best 3 players on each team are in brackets, and, in many cases, it wasnβt really clear who would be considered the 3rd and who the 4th best player, which makes the experiment a bit more random, but bear with me:
Atlanta: (Trae, Collins, Capela): Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, Bogdan Bogdanovic
Boston: (Tatum, Brown, Horford): Marcus Smart, Dennis Schroder, Robert Williams
Brooklyn: (KD, Harden, Kyrie): Joe Harris, Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge
Charlotte: (LaMelo, Hayward, Bridges): Terry Rozier, Kelly Oubre, PJ Washington
Chicago: (LaVine, DeRozan, Vucevic): Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso
Cleveland: (Garland, Allen, Mobley): Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Kevin Love
Dallas: (Doncic, Porzingis, Brunson): Tim Hardaway Jr

Detroit: (Cade, Jerami, Bey): Isiah Stewart
GSW: (Steph, Draymond, Klay): Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole
Houston: (Wall, Wood, Kevin Porter Jr.): Eric Gordon, JaeβSean Tate, Alperen Sengun

Which players on your team's roster should they lock in for the year, or longer?
Which players do you wish your team should move on from.
I'm going to go through each team with my opinions. Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong, or share your own opinions, etc...
Atlanta Hawks
Lock in: Trae Young, DeAndre Hunter, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, Clint Capela, Danilo Gallinari, Bogdon Bogdanovic, Sharife Cooper, Onyeka Okongwu, Jalen Johnson
Move on: Solomon Hill
Uncertain: Delon Wright, Lou Williams, Skyler Mays, Gorgui Dieng, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
Atlanta is young and good at the same time, there aren't really any actual pieces they should move on from, and tbh there are only a few pieces that wouldn't matter either way. I will point out Solomon Hill as being someone who would only take away minutes from someone more worthy of the playing time. Unless they are absolutely demolished by injuries he probably shouldn't see the floor.
Boston Celtics
Lock in: Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams, Grant Williams, Marcus Smart, Dennis Schroder, Payton Pritchard, Al Horford
Move on: Jaylen Brown, Josh Richardson
Uncertain: Romeo Langford, Brodric Thomas, Aaron Nesmith, Sam Hauser, Jabari Parker, Juancho Hernangomez, Bruno Fernando, Enes Kanter,
Time to get crazy! I hate this roster construction and am of the opinion that Brown and Tatum aren't the ideal fit. I have Boston choosing Tatum over Brown in the long run (I personally like Brown more, but most would want Tatum). Some of the younger pieces with talent and potential stay like Timelord, Grant, and Pritchard, as well as some pieces that are extremely good in what they do in Horford, Smart, and Schroder. Finding better fits around them and focusing on playmaking being the priority would make this tea much better. They move on from Brown in this case to try a different fit from a high caliber player, and Richardson fits the Smart role, and I don't think he would be utilized very well on this roster with Smart already doing what he would be doing, but worse at this point.
Brooklyn Nets
Lock in: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Joe Harris, Bruce Brown, Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap, Cameron Thomas, Jevon Carter
Move on:
Uncertain: Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Bembrey, David Duke Jr., Kessler Edwards, James Johnson, Nicholas Claxton, Day'Ron Sharpe
Nothing wild here for the most part. The Nets have a solid team, the only issue is a

Hi guys, I'm from Australia where we have a State of Origin competition for rugby league and formerly our own code of football. Basically, you represent the state where you played junior footy and I've made an NBA version for the last couple of years, so here's my latest edition.
Players represent their 'state of origin', and I have used the state they played high school ball in to decide which state they represent. I am mindful of prep and boarding schools so I have used common sense; for example D'Angelo Russell grew up in Kentucky, spent 1 year at a Kentucky high school and then 3 at the Montverde Academy in Florida, he would play for Kentucky in this scenario.
I also decided to include Canada as well. Here's all 50 states + Canada ranked with their teams:

Best 8 man rotation you can build for $120. The goal would be to build a team most likely to win a championship next season.
I did not include Kawhi Leonard because I expect him to miss all of next season. Jamal Murray is at a highly discounted price due to his injury. I split the players by position for organization, but there are no position requirements. You can have eight centers if you want.
Any player not listed is $1.
Let me know if I missed any obvious players, or made any glaring mistakes.
