Got my wife as she explained something to our toddler.

My wife couldn't open a jar of grape jelly. Our two year old didn't understand why she had to bring it to me. He was only concerned with how long it was taking to make his sandwich. I opened it, but it was pretty hard because the jelly had caked around the threads and dried in place, gluing the lid to the jar.

My wife saw our son getting impatient and told him, "Hold on kiddo, mommy couldn't open the jar, so she had to bring it to daddy. Even daddy had a hard time opening it."

At this point, my internal dad joke radar started screaming a proximity warning. The collision with a dad joke was imminent. I smiled, took half a second to bask in my dad glory, and added, "Yeah, it was jammed."

Wife groaned, but son laughed (because he saw the lid was finally open). I take whatever I can get.

Last night's dinner conversation...

I asked my son (3) what he was eating, and he says "Ed a mommy" (Edamame).

I of course respond with "No, that's da mommy!" and point to my wife.

That was terrible, So I set up a much better one. I told my wife that our friend Kevin had recently had a girlfriend, but he broke up with her when he found out she was missing three toes. She was shocked that Kevin would be so shallow.

I told her, "Didn't you know Kevin was Lack Toes Intolerant?" The kids did not understand why we were laughing so hard. I think my wife wanted to throw something at me.

I love terrible jokes.

Your mom and I need privacy!

Got wife good tonight. She had just laid out all the kid's Xmas presents in the guest room with sacks and wrapping paper, scissors, etc and instructed me how she wanted it done.

Then our daughter barges in. Wife scrambles to cover the gifts. So I say:

> "Mommies and Daddies need privacy sometimes. We have sacks in here!"

I got my 5yo really good. I might be a single mother, but my father taught me well.

My 5yo daughter came running up to me after playing at the park on a very sunny day. Her: "Mommy, I'm thirsty." Me: "Hi thirsty, my name's mommy. What can I do for you?" Her: "No Mommy! I'm not thirsty! I'M THIRSTY!" Me: "Now you're not making any sense." She promptly let out a groan and stomped away.

6 weeks 'til baby's here and hubby's already practicing

We've been sleeping with a humidifier because, between the winter and the pregnancy, my skin feels incredibly dry. This morning, I told hubby I didn't think the humidifier was working well because I still felt mummified.

Hubby: You are. pokes me in the belly You're "mommy-fied."

He then walked away chortling.

God help this child...and me. :)

Dadjoked by his own daughter (x-post from /r/Disney)

"My four year old daughter just made the best joke of her life regarding Mulan:
So we are all sitting here watching Disney Jr and they have a commercial for Mulan. I say 'Look, it's Fa Mulan!' To which she immediately responds 'Sometimes Mulan is Fa and sometimes she's near.' She didn't really understand why her mommy and daddy were rolling on the floor laughing!" Original post. Sorry if this isn't a proper post, I was kinda wishy-washy about posting unoriginal content but it made me laugh and I just had to share it! Hope it made ya smile :)

The 10 year long dad joke.

When i was growing up my dad would always tell this one joke.

"Once upon time there was a daddy tomato, a mommy tomato, and a baby tomato. One day the tomato family went for a walk, however the baby tomato started to fall behind. The daddy tomato got angry and went back to baby tomato stomped on him and said ketch-up"

He told this joke at least once a month for ten years. When I was sixteen he showed me Pulp Fiction. I nearly killed him at this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrGeOHpEGk0
