A list of puns related to "Misawa, Aomori"
Hi, I'll be travelling up to Hachinohe, Aomori in late December. I currently live in Kagoshima. I was originally going to just fly into and out of Aomori airport and take the train into Hachinohe, but my friend there says they heard that Aomori gets a lot of cancellations in the winter because of snow. They heard that it would be safer to fly into Misawa airport. My only concern is that flights into Misawa are looking more expensive, and because it's a smaller airport wouldn't cancellations happen just as often, if not more, there?
I'm battling whether or not to stick with flying into Aomori airport or switch to Misawa airport. Any thoughts or experiences?
It's a little different from your traditional Japanese festival. Great if you're homesick for American BBQ and burgers!

2016 schedule, but should still be relatively the same for 2019
I looked at the sidebar and didn't see anything about living in Japan, so here goes. My ex and our son are moving to Misawa Air Base in January. We're going to work together on a visitation schedule, but for now, let's assume that I'll be in the US for 6 months and Japan for 6 months. I am a big city guy, coming from Washington DC, and I'm looking for something that would keep a 25 year old young professional entertained that is also close to Misawa. I'm very extroverted and like to get engaged with the community and make friends, especially if there is a significant American (or English-speaking) population in the city. Looking at the regions of Japan I would desire to live somewhere between Aomori (where the base is) and Tokyo, just to keep things accessible by the Shinkansen train. I wouldn't be bringing a car. What is a fun place to live for someone like myself?
I FUCKING DID IT BOYS
Original Post here. I was just trying to get advice on tracking down an instrument in country.
I'm throwing in this huge unnecessary backstory because I have to at least try to explain why this was such a big deal to me.
This is a huge huge huge fucking win for me, because this Japan trip was one of the most miserable experiences of my life, I want to stress that this has nothing to do with Japan or the Japanese people. They were pleasant and helpful as fuck whenever I interacted with them. The real fucking problem was COVID RESTRICTIONS.
See, for this trip I have to live and work on a military base in Misawa, which is way way way up north in the Aomori prefecture, which is as north as you can go before switching islands. It's a nice sleepy town with not a ton to do but go out drinking if that's what you want and some neat little restaurants scattered around. This would be lovely, except that Misawa is the only town I'm allowed to take any R&R in.
I spent 6 months in Japan, I leave this week back to Guam. I have been dreaming of getting down to Tokyo for bass hunting missions for the last 6 months. Turns out, thanks to low vaccination rates in May/June, the Olympics in July and other happenings Misawa AB just didn't want people going down to Tokyo. For large parts of the trip the entire country was off limits except for Misawa proper. It was miserable.
So I can't travel. It sucks. I can't go bass hunting. Work is work, I don't mind it but it's literally all I'm doing besides eating sushi and playing WoW. We live in the Navy motel on base which is usually reserved for personnel that are transitioning from one base to another and need somewhere to stay for while their house is all packed up and they're waiting for a flight out to their next duty station. It's not exactly luxury accomodations because it doesn't need to be. You get a desk, a microwave a bathroom and a bed. Nothing to cook real food with, not allowed to own a hotplate or toaster oven. You're living off whatever you can make in your room with no space to prep your food. For six months.
There is no air conditioning. During the summer months in Misawa our rooms reached 90 degrees on a daily basis. Everyone bought multiple fans, it was actually kinda hilarious. We keep our windows open all day and night in hopes of cooling down, but did I mention I live on an airbase? That's right, th

I got him as a puppy while station in Misawa Japan, he is from the Aomori Prefecture. He is fixed. Kuma should be in a home with no small children, big dogs or puppies. He gets along with polite and strong willed dogs that are smaller than him. Kuma is decently low energy. He likes a walk in the morning and in the evening with maybe a quick game of tug of war in the evenings. Kuma is great on walks as he does not pull or lunge at other dogs. Although, I would not recommend dog parks as he has a tendency to act foolish around other big dogs. He is housebroken and can go many hours (6+) without accidents in the house. Once heโs comfortable in a space, he does not require to be crated when left alone or put to bed but he can if need be. Kumaโs new home should have a decent sized backyard that is fenced unless you live somewhere remote and a cold climate (he absolutely loves the snow). He does not really have the motivation to run away. Kumaโs quirks are that he doesnโt like to have his head touched by strangers and he will nip if his warnings are not paid attention to. He also can get growly if allowed on furniture as he doesnโt want to be moved. Kuma responds best to a strong-willed male owner who is not afraid of him.
The reason I am putting him up for adoption is that I have a newborn and while Kuma does fine with supervision around younger children (5+) we do not trust him around toddlers etc. who cannot read the signs that he does not want to be bothered. There is no adoption fee as I would much rather have a wonderful loving home that can provide for him than money for myself. I would prefer someone in the Midwest as I am located in Milwaukee, WI.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 38%. (I'm a bot)
> Aomori - Japan has asked the U.S. military to investigate the dumping of two fuel tanks by an F-16 fighter jet before it made an emergency landing at an airport in Aomori Prefecture, officials said Wednesday.
> While there were no reports of injuries, at least one of the two fuel tanks apparently landed in a residential area in the prefecture, as police spotted bits of metal and liquid believed to be fuel about 20 to 30 meters from some homes.
> The incident is the latest in a series of fuel dumping incidents by U.S. fighter jets in the northeastern prefecture in recent years that have stirred safety concerns among residents.
> Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told a news conference Wednesday the government has conveyed to the U.S. forces in Japan that the dumping of the fuel tanks was regrettable.
> The 35th Fighter Wing of the Misawa Base said in a statement that an F-16 fighter jet experienced a problem during a flight and its pilot jettisoned the fuel tanks into an unpopulated area close to Mount Iwaki in Aomori Prefecture.
> "I heard a large sound and thought it was thunder. I was surprised that a U.S. jet had dropped it. I'm scared that it could have hit somebody," said a woman in her 80s. In 2015, an F-16 fighter jet dumped its fuel tanks into the Sea of Japan off Aomori Prefecture, and another F-16 fighter ditched its fuel tanks into a lake near the Misawa base in 2018.

I am stationed at a joint USAF/USN/JASDF base in Misawa, northern mainland Japan. When living off base overseas, housing allowance policy differs slightly than back in the US. In order to be approved for OHA, any property that a service member lives in has to be inspected by the on base housing office prior to them being allowed to live there. When I first decided to try to buy a house here, I went to the housing office and asked for a copy of the inspection criteria so I would know what a property needs to have in order to pass said inspection. Once it passed, service members would be allowed to live there and I, as their landlord would collect their OHA. At first they were reluctant to even give it to me, which should have been red flag number 1. The inspection approval agent at the housing office even tried to tell me "SOFA members aren't allowed to own property." (That's BS and I knew it going into the conversation, but I digress- Red flag number 2) I finally managed to get it however.
Upon looking at it something stood out to me. Here is the first page of the 4 page document. Number 8 says any property has to have the physical space to accommodate the US spec housing office appliances that they let people use for the duration of their tours. They look like this. Everyone that lives off base, has to live in a residence that can physically fit and more than likely uses these appliances. If you know anything about Japan you know that everything is smaller. It's a smaller country. Less space in general. This means that properties, even houses, rarely even have the space to fit a full size washing machine, let alone both a washer and a dryer. Many households here have a washer/dryer all-in-one unit or just hang clothes on a line. So you might be thinking this is incredibly limiting in terms of what is available to us at any given time. You'd be right. Of the 3 or 4 management agencies that have pre inspected and approved homes for us to live, upon PCSing here you'll find that there won't be anymore than 5 or 6 to choose from at any given time. Sometimes less. An AF friend of mine had 3.
Now what if you found a place that was already furni

Do your worst!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies ๐
It really does, I swear!

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
I won't be doing that today!

Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
