What kind of military rations did France have during World War II?
I'm looking for information regarding French military rations troops would have carried after WWI and leading up to/during the Second World War. I understand that France was knocked out fairly early in the war, 1940, and didn't have the need or means to produce field rations after they were occupied by Germany. However that's still 22 years after the first World War, a lot of time since the first 'vivres de rΓ©serve' iron rations were given to French soldiers.
I assume there had to have been some kind of changes or developments to the French field ration during that time. Yet I haven't been able to find any information on interwar French rations or anything that might have been used leading up to the fall of France.
Did France not really give any thought to field rations until after World War II? Or am I missing information?
