Really never thought I would see these kind of numbers here, so... yikes.
Of note, there is no sign that this is a data catch-up or anything due to the holidays. The raw daily numbers were consistently updated each day even in the absence of daily summary reports, so this really does represent an increase of +1,317 new detected cases over the aggregate number recorded yesterday (18,063 --> 19,380).
The test positivity rate was obtained through data provided by the INSPQ (select "Outaouais" in the drop-down menu just above the six at-a-glance rectangles for region-specific info; test positivity can be found in figure 4.2 near the bottom of the screen, but use the slider below the graph to more conveniently display recent values), reflecting the tests conducted on December 27th. Note that the apparent discrepancy between number of positive tests and number of new cases is due partially to different reporting times and to the practice of confirming infections via epidemiological link in some cases rather than via formal testing.
In more positive(?) news, while local hospitalizations have increased from 7 to 12 in the past week, they remain far short of the record highs in this region for either regular hospitalizations or patients in ICU. Additionally, total deaths remain stable at 223, unchanged since October 24th.
This will be a tough few weeks for many, maybe among the toughest we've had yet. Look out for one another, do your best, and hope that this thing can wash over us without doing damage that will have more significant consequences. Good luck out there.

I recently hit a milestone on my YouTube channel, 50 subscribers! I have had my channel for a year now and have been struggling to get my channel growing. I see that my asmr and roleplay videos to much better than my gaming. I might do both still but focus more on the voice stuff. Maybe even try to find a way to combined the two haha
If it wasn't for this community then I would still probably be struggling on reaching just the 50 sub milestone haha! So I have decided that I want to give back to the community.

JUST A HEADS UP THOUGH I won't perform scripts that deal too much in kissing sound fx or too much romance.
