A list of puns related to "Miguel Rodríguez Orejuela"
So Damián Alcázar , who plays one of the two brothers who lead the Cali Cartel in Narcos, is actually a pretty renowned Mexican actor who's starred in quite a few movies/TV shows that center around the drug trade and government corruption, albeit in Mexico.
The ones I personally like best/would recommend are his collaborations with director [Luis Estrada](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Estrada_(director%29), who's famous for really dark, bitingly satirical, and violent pieces. Here's three of them...
1. Hell ("El infierno") (Trailer and detailed review)
This movie is probably the most directly relevant if you're into Narcos (which by virtue of being on this subreddit I'd assume you are). Alcázar plays a recently deported Mexican man who, unable to find any legitimate jobs, gets involved in the drug trade and experiences all the glory and violence that go with it.
I've heard people say Mexico's drug problems today have a lot of parallels with the Escobar period in Colombia, and you can definitely see that through this film. The title is meant to impress upon you/satirize that contemporary Mexico is like "hell" b/c of drug problems and corruption.
2. The Perfect Dictatorship ("La dictadura perfecta") (Trailer and detailed review)
This one's a lot more political and an amusingly dark way to learn about Mexican politics (and if you already know stuff about Mexican politics, this is a gold mine). Alcázar plays a thoroughly corrupt governor of a poor Mexican state who enlists a TV network to help PR his way to the presidency. Narco-violence is definitely in the background here as well, 'cause the corruption money has got to come from somewhere! Really, really darkly hilarious if you have that kinda sense of humor.
This one was available on Netflix with English subs a couple months ago, I think it may still be on there.
3. Herod's Law ("El La ley de Herodes") (Trailer)
One of the earliest Estrada/Alcázar collabs. Alcázar plays a small-town mayor with (surprise!) big-corruption dreams. As with "The Perfect Dictatorship" this movie skewers the historically dominant PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party), and was novel in being one of the first movies to do

I bet that they paid their way, too.
>Several cartel leaders have said they want to pave the way for their Harvard- and Stanford-educated children to become legitimate business leaders. But many people are skeptical that the families will abandon the $25 billion a year cocaine business. (Emphasis added.)
Makes you realize that scandals like what we're seeing today are likely only the tip of the iceberg.

LIMA - OIC investigative judge Miguel Ángel Rodríguez ordered today the dissolution of opposition party Fuerza Popular, a day after the party was found guilty on money laundering charges in connection to the Odebrecht Scandal.
In his judgement, Rodriguez noted that money laundering and corruption were "endemic" in the Fuerza Popular, necessitating its dissolution. Leading party members were also revoked of their political rights for the next decade, meaning that they cannot run for election for any level of government.
On 11 March, FP leader Keiko Fujimori was sentenced to 20 years in prison on money laundering charges, sparking protests in the streets and defiance in the Congress in the run-up to the 2021 general elections next month.
FP supporters have accused these charges and the dissolution of the party as being "politically motivated," arguing that the timing of the dissolution and the revocation of political rights for its leading members was meant to prevent a Fujimorista presence in Congress for the next 5 years.
Keiko Fujimori's first appeal request has been denied in court due to irregularities, and she remains incarcerated in the Santa Monica Women's Prison in Chorrillos.
