A list of puns related to "Midsomer Murders"
Just watching a s11 episode, and some psychic says "...and it won't be the last..." So I was curious how many bodies there were in the episode that has the highest bodycount.
I notice that itβs on ITV almost every day, if not every single day, the episodes are almost 2 hours long and the show has been going for years on end. Just wondering if anybody even watches it religiously or not.
Itβs still the 1970s but they have mobile phones. Everyone should wear a suit unless youβre a farmer. Sleeping with someone? Itβs probably your relative. Are you a famous actor? You did it or will die. People only drink pints and ignore drink driving rules. Every rich family is actually poor and can barely afford their own house.
Iβm a pretty huge Midsomer fan, itβs hilariously British and the fictional county must have a murder rate surpassing Detroit based on speculative populations.
So Orlando Bloom, Henry Cavill, Olivia Colman and Peter Capaldi amongst a slew of others have been guest stars, all before real stardom (although Orlando Bloom allegedly shot his episodes whilst negotiating his LotR contract). Question is, are there any other British shows with a similarly famous roster of guest stars? Exclude any panel or talk shows, Iβm looking for actors acting. Iβve already considered the Ricky Gervais shows inc. The Office and Extras but Iβm looking for less orchestrated cringe.
Yes, it is lovely and peaceful around here, and I'm glad you had your first good night's sleep in ages. No, a villager is not going to murder you over some convoluted mix up about the local honey at the village fete. Yes, that is an odd looking wooden structure on the village green, but I can assure you its appearance at the exact same time as your visit is purely coincidental. And no, I haven't heard from Keith since that time he came to visit either, but again, I can assure you that his radio silence since that trip is purely coincidental...
I know this isn't a lot of SB. But with all the posts about games not crediting, this was a pleasant surprise.
I found the Midsomer Murders game in SB Live app. I think it's new, I hadn't seen it there before
It says:
I played to level 4, looked back at the Swagbucks activity, and it had credited me 31 SB way before that. After about 25 min of playing, and I probably was on level 2
I don't know when the other points credit
But this was a nice to get some SB, without spending a lot of energy!
(Unless I'm misunderstanding what "level" is in this game, but I think it's what level of police officer you acquire)
Anyone else?
If someone tells me something about the opening scene of an episode, I can tell you the basic plot and random facts about the episode. But I usually forget who the murderer isβ¦
Henry Cavill is a bit route one, are there others?
Where's a good place to start with this show?
So i'm (43m) working backwards through the seasons (lockdown) and finding the notes i'm taking equally part of the fun.
I've solved one out of 8 episodes so far with a few .5's here and there. ( .5's meaning half of a double act etc which doesn't count) Crosses are people that died. One stroke for people I rule out, circle for suspects.
Any tips on how to spot the double acts ie. murderers in cahoots?

I love Midsomer Murders (TV show). I really just like the English countryside and the culture there. Any suggestions on books with similar aspects that I should read? It doesn't have to be a murder mystery. I like all book genres.
I am currently reading The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman and am really enjoying it. It gives me similar vibes.
I didnβt know about this episode filmed in 2019. I havenβt watched it yet but appears to include interviews with some of our favourite actors. Iβm saving it to watch while on quarantine!
In addition to the usual list of tropes (hey look, Hoodie Guy!), we take a drink whenever we recognize an actor from the 1995 Pride and Prejudice miniseries.
With the exception of Jennifer Ehle, the entirety of the immediate Bennett family from P&P have made appearances at one time or another: Alison Steadman (Mrs. B), Benjamin Whitrow (Mr. B), Susanna Harker (Jane), Polly Maberly (Kitty), Lucy Briers (Mary), Julia Sawalha (Lydia).
Keep an eye open also for David Bamber (Mr. Collins), Adrian Lukis (Mr. Wickham), and Barbara Leigh-Hunt (Lady Katharine De Burgh). Have I missed any?
We also do the same with cast members of the original Four Weddings and a Funeral film: those include at least James Fleet, Simon Callow, Sara Crowe, and Rupert Vansittart.
At the intersection of those two groups, Anna Chancellor (Miss Bingham in P&P, "Duckface" in 4W&F) would surely make a formidable Midsomer villain, but she hasn't appeared yet. I live in hope.

Not usually in to these types of games but may have to have a go when this is released.
Does anyone know anything more about it? Just randomly saw it in YouTube whilst doing a midsomer murders search
What Series do you recommend watching after Midsomer Murders? I binged all 21 seasons and loved it. It doesn't have to be exactly the same type of show .
I have an Acorn subscription due to Midsomer Murders. It is a way to watch the series without commercials and when you have 22 seasons to watch you have no time for commercials. I have one recommendation.
I was looking around for another show after finishing Midsomer Murders and I stumbled across Keeping Faith and then Keeping Faith led me to the discovery of the music of Amy Wadge. I highly recommend both.
Keeping Faith draws you in with Faith and her life, happiness, tears, trials, tribulations, family and friends. The beauty of Wales is the visual backdrop and the music of Amy Wadge sets the mood and enhances the story. For Amy Wadge listen to her songs Faith's Song and Steve's Song. For the series just binge all 3 seasons.
Just happened to look, and there's a Midsomer Murders, Season 22 on Prime Video. 2 episodes so far, they say there's supposed to be 6 episodes eventually, we'll see. So I went to watch it, and Prime reminded me that it's on Acorn, and I need to pay a fee for that. This is the good part, Prime is only charging $0.99/month for the first 2 months, and then back to the regular monthly fee. Needless to say, I took it. If the other 4 episodes don't show up after 2 months, I'll cancel and wait for them without paying :-).
Don't know how long this offer will last, or if it's only limited to Acorn as an Amazon channel. If this is interesting to you, I wouldn't wait, it might be part of Amazon's Prime Day offers, I don't know. All I see at the Acorn TV web site is the usual 7-day free trial (which I'm not eligible for, already been there), then the full $5.99/month.
Enjoy!
UK viewer here. Just signed up to BritBox expecting to see the latest (series 22) midsomer murders but its not available?? I'm sure I hard/saw an advert for Britbox saying latest Midsomer Murders will be on Britbox.

My family and I love watching Midsomer Murders every night, and we were wondering if there are any movies with a similar tone/structure? Obviously the episodes are around 90-100 minutes in length already, but perhaps a movie could have a slightly tighter plot and less βTVβ directing. P.S. I highly recommend this show to any lovers of detective or mystery stories.
This Thursday's content update is solid yet unremarkable as far as library content goes. However, the big deal this week is of course the long-awaited arrival of BritBox UK original The Beast Must Die. More specifically, the first 2 episodes were made available today, with the following 3 arriving each Thursday hereafter. While New Spitting Image will always be the first original, this is the first in the drama genre. Time will tell if it does as well as its aforementioned comedy predecessor. Here is the official description:
>Cush Jumbo, Jared Harris & Billy Howle star in this gripping revenge thriller from BritBox. A mother sets out to avenge her young sonβs death, while a detective tries to unpick the web of tragedy & steer a course to justice. New eps every Thursday.
Next up, we have another update to ITV's legendary, off-beat detective series Midsomer Murders. A couple of weeks ago, we saw the arrival of episodes 3 and 4 of series 21. Today saw the addition of episodes 1 and 2 of the brand new series 22. This officially makes the huge BritBox boxset "complete" once again. A fact that has been pridefully advertised in the past and has led to the long-running show being one of the service's early crown jewels alongside the likes of classic Doctor Who.
>World-renowned murder mystery series set in the idyllic Midsomer county. Inspector Barnaby and his young sergeant probe suspicious deaths in the community with an awful crime rate.
The final highlight today is the gritty 2011 period drama, The Runaway. What makes this mini-series interesting has less to do with the end product (though it is Emmy-nominated) and more to do with its original home: Sky One. This is a prime example of how entangled and surprising film and television rights can be. I'm sure we've all rolled our eyes when a customer support worker gave us the tired line of "it all comes down to rights" when making a request. But as this shows, you never know who'll end up with the right to negotiate for and stream content.
>From the pen of crime writer Martina Cole comes this brutal & suspenseful thriller. In the gritty atmosphere of 60s East London, two childhood friends grow close. When violence separates them, their lives take drastically different turns.
And finally, here is everything else added today:
>Quirky sitcom about three pals united by their love of t
... keep reading on reddit β‘Canadian here. Put on Britbox tonight to watch a couple episodes of MM and only 2 seasons are available!! WTF?! Seasons 1 - 19 are gone, only 20 and 21 are available. What happened?! Iβm not a huge fan of the current Barnaby so I usually watch the early seasons. Are they gone forever?
I am searching for episodes of Midsomer Murders, ideally the entire series but I will take what I can get. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can assist!!
Who knew! Didn't we all think that two detectives alone could solve hundreds of murders within a few days of each being committed?
A real-life police officer says "no."

The title of this article may as well be "Duh! We all knew that" Made me laugh.
For someone late to the party, does anyone have all of the seasons (the full collection...until now)? Posted wherever? Thank you kindly!!
In the spirit of verification, I have checked IMDB and it does not appear to be from a banned source (if it is, please let me know and I will not request again):
