Mid City West, Los Angeles Puns

I (M25) recently bought myself the Starfinder Core Rulebook as a Christmas present for myself and I wanted to go for a test run. I'm still familiarizing myself with the rules and I'm hoping that by running a game I can better understand it.

I'd love to have new players who want to learn the system alongside me. If you're an experienced Starfinder player you might not have a great time since I won't know the game as well as you do. But if you're willing to be patient as I fumble through the book, you will be greatly appreciated.

This probably will NOT develop into a long-running campaign, but if everything works out well, it might.

Hey everyone, this is the situation. I have been trying to secure a next gen system since they launched, to no avail. That changed last week when thanks to a Redditor recommended app I snagged an Xbox series x off of amazon. Now I haven’t played any prior gen hardware (don’t think Nintendo switch counts), so I was excited. However, that very same day my work buddy (and closest friend) comes in with his old ps4 and controller in a box for me along with a ps+ year purchased. So what the hell do I do?

Then the next morning I get an alert that ps5 is in stock on PlayStation direct store, so I wait in the queue and snag one. It arrived before the Xbox did. And here I am with my ps5 setup and running, a back catalog of ps4 titles I cannot wait to begin, and a new in box Xbox series x still in the packaging unopened. I guess I could return it to amazon but I figure fuck the scalpers and let’s get some redditor a system.

I’m not looking for anything above what I paid, I have the receipt from amazon.

It's similar to how over here in the United Kingdom, Liverpudlians in Manchester and Mancunians in Liverpool, or Glaswegians in Edinburgh and Edinburghers in Glasgow.

As you can see, most of the actual attendees were fairly happy and I am obviously not upset with the people who took their time and attended. But, let's actually observe what went down...

First of all, our Congressional District is one of the poorer ones in the nation (our mean income is "raised" by income from Culver City and some mid-City residents, but the median is under 50K.) Relevant to the story? Maybe...

Our Rep, Karen Bass, is a STRONG Clinton supporter and our district will be heavily contested...demographically, it seems like it may go to her, but we're not going down without fighting. At any rate, while the Clinton delegate caucus was held in a cafeteria at a trade college, the Bernie one was literally given a basketball court. In the middle of the day, with no chairs or tables, with sun blaring down. There were basketball games going on around us and people just hanging out with their families. There was noise from the street and no clear indication of the actual procedure. This didn't seem official or "respected" as a democratic process AT ALL.

The organization was HORRIFIC. The hours were meant to be roughly 2-4. At 3 o'clock, delegate candidates were supposed to make roughly 1-minute speeches, as indicated on the DemsCa website. While people voting did not HAVE to listen to the speeches and could just come in, grab a ballot and vote, the entire event was supposed to be happening simultaneously so that voters could at least intelligently decide who will be the strongest Bernie fighters at the convention.

Instead, there were a huge line of people waiting for the ballots and delegates were told to "scamper" and try to convince voters to pick them. However, the actual SPEECHES did not begin until most people cast a vote and left. YEP. THAT HAPPENED. And, the time got cut down from a minute to about 30 seconds halfway through the list, you know, just for shits and giggles. So, around 4-ish is when most people spoke to a group that was a tiny fraction of those who showed up to caucus, which was absolute and total shit.

And, to add insult to injury, the "counting" will not be officially wrapped up for a few weeks in our district which makes ZERO sense. Technically, the results should be up today--I actually called the Democratic Party headquarters and when I gave them the number of the district, I got a long "yeaaaahhhh, they will likely no
