Uppendahl directed the two-hour season 6 opener and the most recent episode, "The Crash." Something about these two episodes makes the whole plot feel dreamy. The interactions between characters are peculiar, and the editing schemes of both give a surreal setting. The fact that Michael Uppendahl directed both of these episodes is the only connection (besides drug use of some kind) of which I could recall. Does anyone else have more of an explanation for this?
