I went to see HP Cursed Child last night and noticed his name was taken off the roster completely with Steve Haggard?
I didn't mind it, but I reminisced over Snyder's performance as I've seen him during the pt1 and pt2 of the play.

I have seen tweets saying he has quietly been permanently replaced by his understudy and hasn't been in the show since before Thanksgiving. The implication was that there was some big, hush-hush story behind it, and I am curious if any of this is true. He has always seemed like one of the most regular, decent guys out there so I have a hard time putting much stock in this.
They should really be more like Nolan, praise be upon him. Their films just aren't very mindfucking, ya know? I like Nolan because he blows my fucking mind out of my skull. Those directors are joke. Who would put money on them! URGH!

I think that they actually believed that they could get away with it. I think that they were actually convinced that they could create, borrow and spend trillions upon trillions of dollars without any serious long-term consequences. But they should have known better. The people running things are very highly “educated”, and after spending decades getting to their current positions they are supposed to be “experts” that we can trust with very difficult decisions. Unfortunately, the “experts” have put us on a path that leads to currency collapse and financial ruin.
All throughout history, there have been many governments that have given in to the temptation to create money at an exponential rate, and it has ended badly every single time.
So our leaders should have known better.

It's really odd to me the extent people go to trying to get this guy to direct more DC movies. Between Watchmen, Suckerpunch, Man of Steel, and BVS none of his movies are critically well-liked or liked by the general audiences that much. I just don't get why there's this craze on the internet for him where the snyder cut crowd looks at him as some kind of god.

Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of a lot of Fletchers books (Manifest delusions and obsidian path books are both great). But this one I saw little to no fanfare about and the little blurb about the book had me intrigued.
What this book manages to do is incredible. It really transports you to a cold (literally), gritty, low-fantasy noir world. This booked gave me serious vibes of other favorite books/games/movies the like of Metro 2033, Blade runner, 1984, and games like Frostpunk.
The 'magic' system is very unique and without giving too much away it really puts the emphasis memories and how they shape us as people. It had me constantly asking questions about the motivations of certain characters and how they would change through the course of the book.
The book comes with the standard Fletcher mastery of characters, introspection, violence (like lots of it), grit, and beautiful prose. I loved his descriptions of this snowy and ash covered metropolis of industry. It's eerie how much it reminded me of Frostpunk in a fully realized world with engaging characters and masterful storytelling.
The ending left me wanting SO much more and I'm so happy I picked this one up. If you want something unique I highly recommend this book.
