A list of puns related to "Metropole Orkest"
Here's some valuable, interesting, funny, curious,... insight that Cory shared with us during the premiere stream of his MO concert video... no stalking intended, Cory ;-)
the first few bars of the solo on The Optimist are usually the same, and then he goes off into improv
Cory usually plays gauge 10 strings
...except on Eb-Tuning, where he goes for 11's
Cory plays medium Dava picks (quote "they're kinda weird, but they work for me")
Frogville is apparently named after the studio where it was recorded
the whole MO played with in-ears
no re-recording was done
Dirk from the MO recorded the concert as multitracks into his console
Cory mixed the album during his tour in January
shows #1 and #2 were played without click (but the tempo wasnt quite right) therefore...
shows #3 and #4 were played with click
Cory met Cody in Ben Rector's band in 2015
Seth was brought in instead of MO's usual bass player
4 orchestrators worked on the arrangements with Cory
MO initially asked for a show in 2023... and bumped it up to November
Cory mixed and mastered the album himself
...in ProTools
...210GB of audio
Cory would be down to write the soundtrack for a Wave Race 64 reboot together w/ Dave Koz
The outro on "Ellie" is leaning on Clair de Lune
Simon references Paul Simons "On Christmas Day" (Getting ready for Christmas Day)
Quote "MO technically owns the arrangements, but if you bug them enought about it, they might publish them" ;-)
Cory moved the Cody Fry songs to an earlier spot on the release, because he didn't want to bury them at the end of the album
Cory uses an Eventide H9 w/ expression pedal for wah, to eliminate the noise produced by analog wah pedals
Today I'm gonna get myself a real job initially started out as "Someday I'm gonna..." (Ben Rector gave the input to change it to today)
all natural vocals on Today I'm gonna get... ("first time singing live on in-ears and it was insane")
Cory likes to use the Shure 535's as in-ears
Cory just recorded a cover, where he's on vocals
Reverb on Codys piano is the Valhalla Shimmer
Reverb on Codys vox is Valhalla Vintage Verb
(at that time) Home is apparently Corys favorite song he's ever written
Peter (MO's guitarist) plays the solo on Better
Q: Any chance we are gonna get more songs with Cody? A: Cody and I wrote a banger a couple months ago
The acoustic guitar on Underground is recorded with DI only (no mic)
Kirk Hammett shoutout "during" Corys solo on Want me back
Ending-Chord on Want

Think they just put this up. First 100 copies are signed
Edit: No longer available, but donβt hesitate to reach out if you have any of the LPs below and want to talk a sale or trade. Thanks!
I was lucky enough to grab an extra signed copy of Coryβs latest vinyl release with the Metropole Orkest, limited to 500 white vinyl pressings in total with only the first 100 being signed by Cory. Iβm hoping to find a willing Vulfpeck fan who would be up for a trade. Some of these βwantsβ are more valuable than the Cory LP, so a partial trade/PayPal arrangement is also cool.
Wanted:
Vulfpeck - Vinyl Discography (2011-2014): Iβm looking for the stamped promo sleeve version from the Tonic Room Chicago show.
[Vulfpeck - Beastly / It Gets Funkier 7β](https://www.discogs.com/Vulfpeck-Beastly-It-Gets-Funkier/release/6020595 com): I would love to find one that includes the Kickstarter form letter, but the standalone 7β is also of interest.
Vulfpeck - Hill Climber (mispressed white lp with black label): I have the standard white lp w/ white label, and the black lp w/ black label, but not this mispressing where the labels got mixed up.
Vulfpeck - Mr Finish Line, The fan or retail pressing. I clumsily scratched my fan pressing (broke my heart) and I never grabbed a retail one when they were readily available. Either would be of interest!
Vulfpeck - Thrill of the Arts, 2016 Black LP Reissue: Pretty sure this is the only variation Iβm missing for Thrill.
Thanks!
